core gate "Pops and crackles" in the Core Gate in Sonar?
Jonathan Sasor replied to Edward Allen's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
@Edward Allen, For the time being it seems that adding another plugin after the gate also seems to correct the issue. In my case I loaded Core Phase with zero adjustments, and dropped that across all those drum tracks and the problem went away. -
core gate "Pops and crackles" in the Core Gate in Sonar?
Jonathan Sasor replied to Edward Allen's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
I'm actually able to reproduce the issue with the supplied project... I'm not sure it's the gate explicitly that's causing the problem. I don't have Nova, but I can bypass either the missing Nova racks or the Gate, and then the crackling goes away. We'll do some further investigation to try and nail down what's going on. -
core gate "Pops and crackles" in the Core Gate in Sonar?
Jonathan Sasor replied to Edward Allen's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
I haven't been able to repro anything unusual with the gate. It's possible it might be related to the exact thing you're using it with. If there's a project where this is reproducible for you, please send it. Thanks! -
The input echo always needs to be on for an aux track. It's been that way since aux tracks were introduced in SONAR Platinum. Downstream buses aren't muted when soloing, no change to this behavior.

What language is the version of Windows itself?

[90% SOLVED] Media Browser is seriously broken

So the images of the previous install issues both seem to indicate something unusual going on with how Documents is being handled in Windows. Either some crossed paths or permissions maybe? Neither of those items are particularly important to getting Sonar itself to run normally. The first one is something preventing just a shortcut link from being created in user documents, and the second being factory content for the Rematrix ProChannel Module. Just to reiterate, these issues are definitely related to something locally being unusual with Windows on your system, or it being in an unusual state. There's only so much support reps can do to troubleshoot things, it's beyond the scope of what they can do if Windows is not behaving correctly in the first place. In any case, if you're able to skip both of these errors, Sonar should otherwise be fine. If you keep seeing additional issues, then there's likely a system fix required.

Are you sure you're on the latest build? I'm able to see the Free/All button when the app is set to Russian on our end.

Can we have old Cakewalk Platinum together with Sonar from Bandlab?
Jonathan Sasor replied to carlo's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
The apps themselves install to different locations, so it's fine to have both installed. The only potential gotcha is to make sure that you install the current Cakewalk Sonar after SONAR Platinum to make sure that all of the shared components (like the VST scanner) are the current version. -
Are you on build 036?

no internet causes sudden application crash
Jonathan Sasor replied to Jay DellIsola's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
Please send us a copy of the dump file. Thanks! -
have you updated to build 036?
-
Code 18 is that the driver failed to initialize. If you've reinstalled that driver, try disconnecting and reconnecting your device.
-
You need to update to the latest version, build 036.
-
Yes, update to the latest version, build 036. That will authorize.
-
@Tez Please try build 036 which we just updated the drop to.
-
yes, the plugins should sound identical

Unable to reproduce this on our end. If waveforms aren't drawing, that's usually either an issue with the audio driver or the picture cache. Double check that you're using the correct driver for your device. You can clear the existing picture cache which defaults to C:\Cakewalk Projects\Picture Cache and it will redraw all of your waveforms.

They import as a standard non-stretched audio file. You can then make them time stretch to your project by enabling looping on them (select the clip, then CTRL + L)

As mentioned in the feedback thread, this should be resolved in build 31.09.0.033 that was just released. Thanks!

Something I've noticed about the Local Projects listing
Jonathan Sasor replied to timboalogo's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
This was done by design in a recent update. Before it wouldn't update the project list until the app exited normally, which you were bypassing by ending the task. The more common use case was to retain the recent list in the case where the app closed unexpectedly. We'll take it up for consideration if there's a way to elegantly handle being able to defeat that list. -
September update has screwed everything up
Jonathan Sasor replied to Steve Moddelmog's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
Build 025, was not intended to be released yesterday, and was only available for a brief window. This is why the version was deactivated. This build has now been superseded by 31.09.0.036 which is formally released. We apologize for the inconvenience. -
We're pleased to introduce an update for the early access of the Cakewalk Core plugins, a powerful suite of nine essential track effects designed for high quality and low CPU consumption. Post feedback on these plugins here. This Core suite is compatible with both Next and Sonar and includes the following plugins: Please note that the Cakewalk Core Plugins are only available to users with active BandLab Membership. New in build 1.0.0.143 Core Spatial Panner - an immersive surround sound panner with Doppler and attenuation rendering, and graphical path editing for immersive automated panning effects. Fixed: No Activation Banner if User is Offline Hang Loading User Preset in Core Delay Core Phase visualization settings should persist Toggle Switch isn't responding to parameter changes via automation Core Reverb Decay Time displayed in ms instead of s Core Gate uses inconsistent button for SideChain VST3 Preset Manager not populated with factory presets Core Gate fails to resize after moving from scaled to not scaled displays Cakewalk Core Plugins Core Compressor – a variable-knee compressor with peak limiting for controlling audio dynamics Core Delay – a stereo delay with tempo synchronization and reverb-like features like crossfeed and diffusion Core EQ – a six-band parametric equalizer offering various filter types and manipulation for precise frequency shaping Core Gate – a dynamic gate with side-chain filtering, lookahead, and punch mode to eliminate unwanted noise and enhance transients Core Modulator – combines six time-varying modulation effects like Flanger, Ensemble, and Phaser into one versatile plugin Core Multiband –a 5-band variable-knee compressor with normal and vintage modes, an output limiter, and Transient Controlled Release for smooth compression Core Phase – a phase shifter that applies a constant phase shift for widening the stereo image Core Reverb – a high-quality reverb plugin that emulates sound reflections in a virtual room Core AutoFilter – a versatile filter, dynamically sweeping a resonant bandpass filter based on manual input, tempo synchronization, or an adjustable envelope follower Availability The Core suite (VST3 macOS/Windows) is currently available as add-ons, which you can access from the Updates page of the Start Screen, or via Cakewalk Product Center. These plugins are exclusive to BandLab Membership and can be activated within Next and Sonar, or self-authenticate for use in other DAWs. As this is an early access release, we're eager for your feedback. We have plans for continued development and adding more plugins to the suite, so stay tuned for updates! Important Prerequisite - If you are using Sonar the installer for these plugins require Sonar 2025.08 build 31.08.0.031 or higher. It will not install with earlier builds of Sonar since they do not have full integration capabilities for them. Installed Locations VST3 plugins will be installed in the directory: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\Cakewalk\Core\ macOS VST3 Core plugin directory: /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/Cakewalk/Core/ Following installation, it may be necessary to rescan plugin directories. Automatic Migration from Sonitus plugins in Sonar The Cakewalk Core suite can automatically migrate all legacy Sonitus plugin when you load your projects. You can enable this in Preferences > VST Settings > VST3 Migration and check "Replace if Possible on Project Load" A toast notification will be displayed after loading projects, to show which plugins were replaced with newer compatible VST3 versions. Clicking the Show button in the notification will show the details for the replaced plugins. Important Notes: Sonar will seamlessly migrate the Cakewalk Core Plugins suite from the old legacy Sonitus plugins at project load time. All settings and automation will be transferred automatically. This migration is one-way, meaning you cannot revert from Core plugins back to Sonitus. Although migration is fully compatible with the old DX plugins, it's highly recommended that you save a backup copy of your project files prior to migrating to the new Core plugins. The automatic migration will not work in prior Cakewalk hosts or other hosts. In CbB or SONAR Platinum you must disable the VST Migration settings before loading old projects containing Sonitus plugins, since it may lead to errors on loading these projects otherwise. Activation Cakewalk Core Plugins require an active BandLab Membership in order to activate successfully. When using the Core Plugins in Cakewalk Sonar or Next, plugin activation is seamlessly performed via single sign on host authentication. i.e. no extra steps are required other than signing in to your BandLab account from within the DAW. If you are using another DAW, you will need to sign-in to your BandLab account from within the plugin editor UI to authenticate the plugin. These plugins support Single-Sign-On (SSO) authorization, i.e signing in to one of the plugins that are part of the suite will automatically activate the other plugins in the suite. Unactivated plugins will load but will stream silence until you have signed in to your BandLab account from within the DAW or from the plugin itself. The plugins can be used offline once they are activated successfully. As long as you stay signed in to the DAW or plugin, the normal periodic reactivation will be automatically performed in the background. Offline activation is currently not available for the Core Plugins. i.e. You will need to be online for a short period to allow the plugins to activate initially. Once activated the plugins will stay activated for the normal activation lease period. Offline activation capabilities may be added in a future update. Activation banner When running in a non-Cakewalk host a sign-in banner will allow you to sign in and activate the plugin. This workflow is the same as how it works in Cakewalk DAW's When not activated a sign-in banner will be displayed inside the plugin UI and the plugin will stream silence Clicking the banner toggles between expanded and collapsed sizes
