Referring back to this thread I posted a week or two ago: I did as advised and ran a repair install from Waves Central. It was fine for a few days, but it showed up again the other day. Again, this doesn't happen real often and if I close the project and reload it the problem seems to go away. Anything else I can try before contacting Waves? Next time it happens I'm going to take a screen capture of the 3 errors so you can see them. Thanks; ?John B

All seems well right now with mine. Don't remember last time I saw a BSOD. Drivers I have on now are 4.87.4-709. Security settings on my above mentioned new music PC wouldn't allow me to DL from Firefox, so I took a memory stick over to my laptop, which did allow access and transferred the file to my new PC and installed it. ?John B

Thanks so much. I'll try that. John B ?

Thanks, @Craig Anderton. I'm not at my PC now. Does Waves Central have a repair install feature, or should I just do an installation over top of the current one? John B ???

Yesterday, I did as advised in this thread: As Scook advised, I removed CbB with the BL Assistant. Then I installed Sonar X3 and ran the most current update I had (E from 2015) and then reinstalled CbB. I got all of the Blue Tube plugins back and everything seemed to work OK but now I find when I launch a project I occasionally get an error in CbB that says that my Waves SSL E Channel strip will not load for the track which I have it loaded into. It proceeds to open the project with the SSL in parenthesis and if I click on the SSL channels on that or any of the other tracks I have it in it says that the plugin has crashed. If I close the project and relaunch it most times it reloads OK. Any answers? Thanks ?John B

Smart Tool Not Allowing Me to Edit CC Commands Manually
Johnbee58 replied to Johnbee58's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I think I figured it out, but would clicking on the Smart Tool and selecting "Enable All" have anything to do with it? When I did that it seemed to work. This is a new install on a new machine. Thanks ? -
Did something change with the Smart Tool on a recent update? I don't use the mod wheel. I used to be able to change damper pedal setting with CC64 manually with the Smart Tool. It used to remain a "Up/Down" arrow. Now it changes to a write tool and will not allow me to move the CC64 damper settings manually? Could somebody please explain the change and how I can go back to doing this the way I used to? Thanks ?John B

I really enjoy your melody and lyrics here. ?John B

I appreciate your input, Jim. I should have done more research on this before I went ahead with this SSD thing. I wanted it for the speed in loading plugin heavy projects. I guess I was thinking along the line of the fact that SDDs have no moving parts as opposed to a platter drive moving at 5400-7200 RPMs, but it seems as if every technology has it limitations at one place or another. I really don't want to complicate things with the multiple drives thing. I managed to do 63 projects with my old system and it still has some life in it. I just hope I can get at least that many with this new one. Because of my age, this will probably be the last PC dedicated for the purpose of making music. I do a project backup after every session. ?John B

I removed the 4.65.5 drivers and installed the drivers that Focusrite linked me to. Hopefully that will solve my problem. I will keep you posted on the progress. Thanks all. ? John B

It's been working out for me for more than 6 years now on the old PC. I use mostly VSTi for my instrumentation. I don't record anything live except my voice. I don't use big programs like Superior Drummer. I use EZ Drummer & EZ Keys. It's just a hobby for me. If I wanted to really go pro I would buy something like a Creation Station ($4000.00 on up) just for the PC. Then I'd go for Pro Tools, Superior Drummer and all the other higher class stuff. For me it's just for fun and taking it as far as I can with what I can afford. ?JB

So far pretty good, but mind you, I haven't done much work on it yet. I only have it a little more than a week and I've spent most of that time reloading (and re authorizing) the programs. Check back with me in a few months.? What I can tell you is everything I had on my old system is on the new and I tested everything and they all seem to be working. If all goes well, after the initial warranty (1 year) I might put an additional drive on it for expansion purposes. ?JB

Hi Andy! ? Thanks so much for posting this. It's good to know I'm not the only one with these issues. Your link takes me to 4.87.4.709_Installer_843.exe. The email I got from an Adrian Hogg from Focusrite tech support is 4.87.4.709_ScMC_1.10b6.exe. This might be the same driver because the 4.87.4.709 is the same. The difference might be because your interface is a 2i4 and mine is a 6i6. I can't DL on my new PC because of my security settings on that but I could on another PC in my house and put it on a stick. Might try that, but might wait on further word from Focusrite. Your explanation is intriguing. Thanks so much. EDIT-Another thing, Andy-Does you 2i4 use an external AC adapter? My 6i6 does. I wonder if that has anything to do with the Power Option changes. Adrian didn't send me any info on this. Just a link to the drivers. ?John B

I posted this a few months ago when I had my Windows 8.1 PC running my Focusrite 6i6 interface. It would occasionally go into a BSOD with different error messages ranging from "System Exception" to "Bad Pool Caller" and IRQL errors. I asked Focusrite tech support for help. They linked me to beta drivers to try. I tried them. Problem persisted. Their final recommendation: Upgrade to Windows 10. Last week I bought a brand new Dell Core I5 running none other than Windows 10!! Twice this week I got the damned error again on the new PC!! I contacted Focusrite tech support and they linked me to beta drivers, which they asked me to try again. I don't know if I want to. My Firefox browser will not allow me to access the site the beta is on because of security (certificate) reasons. Does anybody else have a Focusrite interface that is presenting these problems? ?John B

OK. I'll tell ya. I have a project full of about 15 VSTis. I moved it over from the old (platter) system to the new SSD system just to compare. On the old platter system this project with its 15 VSTis took about 5 minutes to fully load. On the new SSD system it took less than 30 seconds. To me, speed in loading is a big factor too. I'd rather spend 5 minutes creating music than waste those 5 minutes waiting for a project to load. ?JB

"Confusion is all around us. What is the truth and who is lying?" Even more so now then when you put this up on July 22. It gets crazier every day second. Truer words were never spoken. My friend, you really know how to white 'um. ?John B

That's good to know. My place gets kinda dusty so I like to open my PCs up and blow them out occasionally. Thanks for the tip I appreciate it. ?JB
