Thanks so much, Tom. I appreciate the comment. ? John B

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I'm sending the Rode back because it's no better than the Apex 435 I already have. I thought I'd try it mostly because Sweetwater ironically allows a 30 day refund on mics. I find that odd, especially given the current situation, but they do. ? John B

Thanks, David. ? John B

Parts of it sound like it could very easily fit into a type of adventure movie soundtrack like Batman or a Terminator type of opening or closing theme. It's a very effective piece. ? John B

Thank you, Nigel! ? John B

@bjornpdx Thanks! See! Some of my stuff does rhyme. ? @Old Joad Glad to hear from you. Thanks! @Wookiee Thanks so much, Mr. Furrypaws for your feedback and being an extra set of "ears". Sometimes I do wonder what my stuff sounds like on other people's setups. Stay safe and healthy, all! ?John B

This used to be my drum machine. I gave it to Josh, who will find something better for it than what it did sitting in my basement. ?John B

I ordered a Rode NT1A and it should get here in a few days. Should I have ordered an NT1 instead? I know there are several people here who use Rode mics. My Avantone CV 12 that I've been using since 2015 doesn't seem to give me what I want and I'm thinking of selling it. I have an old (cheap) Apex condenser that I recently dug up that sounds better and I'm hoping the Rode will finally be the mic that "loves my voice". ?John B

Maybe you'll like it & maybe you won't but here it is. Using Toontrack EZ Keys Upright piano and Native instruments Strummed acoustic guitar among all the other usual samples. https://www.soundclick.com/music/songInfo.cfm?songID=14211197 ? John B

Lovely! I put my headphones on, laid back and closed my eyes and it took me to a very nice place for a few moments. Reminds me of some old Windham Hill music, which I love. ? John B

Hi Bjorn. Thanks so much for the feedback. ? Gee, I guess I really didn't think about it much, but you're right. The lyric only rhymes in a few places. The fact that it seems to work anyway proves that lyrics don't necessarily have to rhyme all the time. Kinda like free verse poetry, I guess. To answer your question, no I don't purposely avoid rhyming my lyrics (check some more of them out . Most do rhyme ?). In this case I just followed my heart in what a person in that situation might say. Thanks again! ? John B EDIT-BTW, I did do a thickening trick on the vocal and I updated the mix a few days ago. I put my Fix Doubler plugin on a separate track for the non doubled voice and used the preset called "Stereo Widening", but reduced the mix on it to a very minimal amount. I think it thickened it up a bit. ?

Thanks for the kind words, Kurt! ? John B

I'm thinking 70's too, but no song title comes to mind immediately. Relaxing, in it's own strange way. Nicely produced and recorded. ? John B

Did they have to put the band right next to the "Job Johnnies"? ? Seriously, nice song and performance by all. ? John B

Deering & Wookiee-Thanks so much! ? JB
