Groundbreaking pieces of music (in your opinion)
Mr No Name replied to Mr No Name's topic in The Coffee House
Thanks for the tips, I'm not familiar with those composers, I will have a listen to them. There is a small article I found about the Concerto for Harpsichord, apparently it was a prank. good prank. https://culture.pl/en/work/concerto-for-harpsichord-henryk-mikolaj-gorecki Yes, I believe they call "symphony of sorrowful songs" symphony number 3, it's the second movement which I am a fan of, reminded me a bit of Ralph Vaughn Williams when I heard it. -
Groundbreaking pieces of music (in your opinion)

What a sad tale that was, I almost had to get a box of tissues to wipe my eyes. -
What music would you describe as "groundbreaking" music you heard and thought "wow this really breaks new ground" I'll start with this one, I heard a piece of music on the radio a while back called - Symphony of sorrowful songs - Gorecki number 2 in particular, beautiful piece of music. I then looked into more Gorecki music (he was around in the mid 20th century era) and found not much, a lot of religious hymnal music. then I happened across this - Henryk Górecki - Concerto for Harpsichord and String Orchestra Op. 40 amazing, nothing like hearing something like that for the first time, struggled to get my head around it tbh but you knew it was something special. threw the rule book out of the window. anyway, here is the track, feel free to post your own examples.

your post prompted me to check my arturia account for updates, I got 40 of them all updated for free, you should email them they are clearly trying to fleece you.

I had an issue with them a couple of years ago, they have a forum which if you're lucky and are able to find to voice your issue, you might get a reply from an employee within about 3 weeks. They have exactly 3 plugins that are all about 10 years old and they constantly have coding issues or some problem. I would recommend trying something else for your 808 kick drums, there are a few decent ones. It is definately not Sonar causing your problem.

forgot what a nightmare installing melda plugins is, trying to install one uninstalls all, I had an awful time previously with a drum machine I bought for £7 took about a day to install the damn thing. Edit, managed to get them going again after about 6 or 7 attempts. I watched a video they have about the installation, they have their bases covered talking about "if there are glitches in installation" do this, just make a video saying our installation software is rubbish and you are likely to have issues, but thanks for buying our plugins. People would have more respect if they did that. they do make great plugins though. grrr.

sublab is junk and the people who run it are clowns, better getting off your computer imo.

caved in, first plugin for months, actual useful one and the UVI piano, very good, £12.67 👍 have an arturia piano, but I think this one is better sounding.

it's "politics" not politics, no politicians involved. aristotelean politics. (I think they dislike plugin boutique more than politics on here for some reason tbh)

This is Deals Politics. Stays in Deals imo.

Melodic Techno Analog Studio Jam feat. Inge - 'Vrij' (Dutch)
Mr No Name replied to Nick Blanc's topic in Songs
Nice track, enjoyed, Inge is a great singer. -
on a side note, I seen a comparison test between the uad and plugin alliance plugins, the ones that are the same that they both sell are literally identically coded. uad's were twice the price at least, 10x the price if you factor pa's sales.
-
good move by them, I noticed alot of their plugins are cheap nowadays, lot of sales, used to be extortionate prices, either people are not buying as many plugins or there are a glut of new developers, the quality of the plugins has never been in doubt, most I've paid is £40 for one. no plug in is worth more than 40 quid.

Do you use a plugin or phase align manually?
Mr No Name replied to jesse g's topic in The Coffee House
if you know how to mic a drum kit properly and with the right type of microphones this won't be an issue. on overhead mic won't need phase aligning. -
great song, reminds me of driving a big american car down a big empty freeway, A feedback or suggestion would be to change the fade out at the end, its a bit linear and long. Listening to the rest of your songs as we speak, very nice stuff.

End of Windows 10 Leaves PC Charities with Tough Choice
Mr No Name replied to kitekrazy1's topic in The Coffee House
"It seems even more unlikely that those 58.7 percent will be paying $61 per year for Microsoft’s Extended Security Update program, which will bring continued patches to Windows 10 PCs after October 2025." there you go. they can extend it but you must pay. fwiw, windows defender (security updates) can be replaced with any 3rd party security program, also people forget microsoft themselves are the number one hackers of your computer. the code changes that software and websites continually change will render the OS obsolete long before security updates. i.e "this software is not compatible with windows 10", developers are not going to do that for many years. they would be foolish to.
