  1. there is/or was a page on the IK site where you can login and check for which products you qualify for an upgrade or cross grade. I can't recall now.
  2. yeah. no group buys for a while? unless I missed one recently. i have most of the IKM guitar stuff through group buys and specials. now just missing ToneX Mesa, TX ODS Legends, and AT5 Morley. What sucks about being in the ecosystem through the group buys is now i have sort of a few random missing items in AT5 and it makes no sense for me to spend $50 to get them as I have almost 99% of what in the collection. So I have to always be aware that I don't have particular model when tweaking sounds. It would be good if IKM offered free credits for users that participate in ToneNet. That way we could maybe fill out and complete the software collection. @Peter - IK Multimedia
  3. I think the softies did something to improve performance. I have noticed that AmpRoom starts up much faster as of the last update. I don't know if they did something to fix it trying to contact their services when first launched. It used to be the first launch was very slow. And then subsequent plugin inserts were much faster.
  4. yeah. now i see it. i was hoping to piggy back on the free midi pack + coupon. oh well.
  5. If I could only use my old EZK coupon, i would maybe bite.
  6. this is interesting. so it the new uJam price $19 new or they are just re-jigging pricing strategy?
  7. you know what. i dont like you. you make me spend too much money.
  8. never herd of them. but they have a free bass. https://www.martinic.com/en/products/kee-bass
  9. i managed to pickup a real 31 band graphic eq from work. (they were throwing away the old PA system). let me tell you. its a real pain in the ***** to try to use compared to a plugin. you need to find a rack for it. you need find a power outlet for it, you need to find a cables for it. you need to figure out how and where to patch it in the signal chain. it's been sitting on a shelf waiting for me to find free time to tinker with it. too busy working on songs ITB in a DAW. btw.. i agree about the most people dont care and listen on buds and phone speaker. but it also depends if you have defined your audience or figured out who you are targeting. maybe you are going for a niche market and they are people who do have stereos and a decent listening system -- the SH forums folks who buy back catalog remastered stuff. In which case, you don't want to release something which will sound like crap on their systems.
  10. conceptually, they do the same thing. but which one is used really depends. its sort of like a drawing pen and sizes. which point size you need? hence a 10 or 20 band transparent graphic eq vs a pultec. What the fellow is claiming is, you are being fooled by the GUI or the company logo. Well, there is lots of free eq's. And you can compare it to your paid ones and see if they do same thing really. https://www.voxengo.com/product/overtonegeq/ https://www.voxengo.com/product/marvelgeq/ https://www.voxengo.com/product/teq421/
  11. I dont know about a guy who thinks fab filer eq is same as a neve emulation eq. something not right with him.
  12. good price for it. anyone have opinion on on the new synth wave thing?
  13. Maybe I should upgrade to Windows 11 while I can still activate. Win 10 is EOL Oct 2025.
  14. It works here. Clear you cache. It looks like they updated their site.
  15. got it. thanks. now i want retro fi for free. anything think waves will give it away? i started using the lofi space recently and it really kicks *****.
  16. no. i will not. i am too afraid of what they will break next.
  17. Yes, my understanding is you can continue to use it. you just can't ever activate it again. What this means is, you have to image your current system. and you need to make sure you continuously do in place upgrades until a point in time when it becomes unfeasible to ever upgrade due to legacy hardware. Which will happen. So you can't blow away your OS and re-install and then install the software again. My current legacy DAW is on Windows 10. I should be able to do in place upgrade to Windows 11 and maybe Windows 12. You probably want to invest in something like Acronis if you plan on keeping that DAW to open old projects. I guess it doenst matter. No one can predict the future and what will happen.
  18. Yeah. I know what you mean. but what this change does is kind of screw over people that were forced to invest into the e-licenser system. and quite frankly, it does sound a like bit like its all a scheme to entice you to upgrade to their latest DAW. Might as well make legacy Cubase devoid of a licenser if its really that useless to them. Anyways, it doesn't really matter that much to me at this point. Over the last few years, i struggled to properly learn the workflow of FL and get my head around it. I have reached the point where I am able to get the same kind of music and tracks I was able to do in Cubase. I just have to go about doing it a little differently. I don''t want to turn this into a which DAW is better discussion. But what the experience has taught me is, there is a great benefit to no having to deal with licenser systems and it really was a big ole' waste of time and money having to deal with these licenser systems. You should just be able to install the software DAW you bought, and use your username and password and not have to look back at it again.
  19. so basically, protect that usb elicenser with your life.
