And here I was, thinking that Germans were very structured and organized, but this adventure of getting a reclaim link to AAS from Beat Magazine has made me think otherwise. It only resulted in a measly six emails from Falke Media/Beat Magazine, nähmlich:
- Ihre bestellung bei falkemedia
- Ihr Download-Link für falkemedia
- Serialcenter – Registrierung
- Serialcenter – Software-Aktivierung
- Dokumente zur Bestellung 999999999 (and only two of those)
I would have expected a lot more emails than that if the national caricature of Germans would have been true.

To avoid confusion I think you should give your theme a unique name that doesn’t somehow imply that this is a new official version of the default Cakewalk theme.
-
Given that this is the Coffee House and your track record of jokes in said forum, I had to read your question very cautiously a couple of times to see if this was some kind of joke that just went over my head. It still may be, but otherwise your formula in the green cell would be =IF(B3+C3>0,1,””). Mind you, I don't have an English version of Excel so both the function name and the divider sign are slightly different on my computer, but I think this slightly modified version should work just fine.

The name of the file

Looks like the limit on the "A" vouchers has been removed.
That's a game changer. I just bought Unfiltered Audio's TRIAD for $29 + VAT as I no longer had to buy something else as well.

I'm running version 4.59.0 which I believe is the last version. Download it from here (for the 404HD)
Thanks Matthew, I hadn’t noticed there was an update available. I’ve got a UMC404HD at home and the smaller UMC204HD at my vacation home, as I needed the classic MIDI input connection which isn’t very common in this price range. Never had any problems with the interfaces or their drivers since I bought them almost two years ago. All sample rates are matched throughout my systems.

Ok now trialing Oberhausen, TRIAD, SpecOps and LION.
If you’re trying out Unfiltered Audio’s TRIAD and like what you hear, you might as well buy the temporarily available BYOME & TRIAD Modular FX Bundle. As far as I can tell, with the voucher code you will get both BYOME and TRIAD for the same price as TRIAD alone.

After opening the theme using the Theme Editor, you would have to navigate to the node Control Bar > Modules > Tools in the left-hand treeview and replace the images "Smart Tool", “Smart Tool (customized)” and “Select tool” found under that node with the corresponding images that were present in that theme before CbB version 2019.07. If you don’t have an old version of the theme available, you would have to make those modifications yourself using some paint program.
However, whenever CbB in the future is updated with new or modified GUI resources and your base theme is being updated to reflect this, you would have to do it all over again in order to keep up with all other changes. Unless you’re comfortable with that, or alternatively accept that your personal theme gradually becomes obsolete, my best suggestion would be to accept these three buttons as they are.

It also appears the scroll bar edits only affect TV and Multidock. Browsers and all other windows are unaffected.
Yes, I also noticed the inconsistent use of "Scroll Bar Background" and "Scroll Bar Thumb" when creating my themes. It’s most noticeable in the Browser and Synth Rack as they are part of the default workspace, and of course it looks very odd when trying to create a dark theme. I was about to report it back then, but then I thought it would never be fixed anyway. But perhaps I’m just being too negative. @Ben Staton, pleeeeez?

if it helps - I have a bit of buyers remorse over the UVI purchase. I always reach for Arturia first - if for no other reason than ease of use
And I do exactly the opposite. Not that I have buyers remorse over Arturia V Collection, but it's always my second choice. But also having UVI Falcon, that might add to my equation.

Welcome to the forum, Pippin. I used to see your Cakewalk tutorials back in the SONAR X1 days when you had the MCI Studio channel on YouTube. It’s great to see that you have updated to CbB and started to make tutorials for it.

No, there isn’t. And I guess any company trying to create such a VST would get a large number of lawsuits on its hands. To be able to do something like that you would have to reverse-engineer all the different proprietary sample file formats used by Native Instruments, Garritan, IK Multimedia, UVI and all the other players in this field using sample based players. Although I haven’t read all the EULAs of these companies, you most certainly are prohibited from reverse-engineer any of the distributed content. It’s not a matter of whether the players are free or not.

We don't maintain or test scanning from plug-in manager and the scan functionality from there will be removed soon.
So taking the improved VST scan code in Preferences and put it in the Plug-in Manager is not an option? Why not? Obviously, the program code already exists.

I downloaded a bunch of samples from Mars but now I can't figure out how to use them in Cakewalk. I did a search for info but came up empty. Can anyone here point me in the right direction? Thanks.
This is the Deals sub-forum so these kinds of questions should not be posted here, but rather in the Cakewalk by BandLab or Q&A forum. However, as you’re already here, this is what you do:
- Make sure the Browser is visible, or else press B to display it.
- In the Browser, click the Media tab.
- In the list of folders being displayed, navigate to the sound file you want to import.
- Drag the file from the Browser into an empty space in the Track View and a new Audio Track will be automatically created with the file inserted where you dropped it. Or, drag it into an existing Audio Track and the file will be inserted there.
I recommend having Auto-Preview checked in the Media tab drop-down menu so you automatically get a preview of each file you click on before import, and also having Loop Preview unchecked in that menu to only hear each preview once.
Extra! Extra! Read all about it!

The New Copperphone is a custom instrument made from modified Copper pipes. The end-result is a 12 pipe instrument that sounds somewhere between pristine bells and a metallic marimba of sorts. The Copperphone contains five core deep-sampled articulation types, which were made by playing the instrument with hard mallet, soft mallet, wooden mallet, muted notes and finger nails. The hard mallet, wooden mallet and finger nails have the most pronounced attack, where the soft mallet has a more smooth and relaxed tone. The included muted articulation is a non-sustained sample of the Copperphone.

Yes, I noticed that too, but when you install Falcon (at least with the Silent Install flag switched off) it will give the following info:
Falcon 2.0.5
- Fix regression introduced in 2.0.4So now we know.

I haven't seen how large the files are. I would imagine that these are not large libraries which would make them great for stage work using a laptop.
I just bought the White Grand (a Malmsjö Grand Piano) and it’s 4.95 GB unzipped. During Black Friday I bought the S.S.G. (probably a Yamaha C3 or G3) and that one was 3.16 GB. So my guess is that most of these first gen SampleTekk libraries are somewhere around those numbers.

As far as I can see, the demo links at SampleTekk doesn’t work in Firefox, but they do work in Chrome (at least for me). The problem seems to be that SampleTekk doesn’t expose the SoundCloud player directly, but is wrapping the links into an internal player which doesn’t work with Firefox. The easy solution is of course to open the SampleTekk site in Chrome instead.Edit: All of a sudden the never-ending "Waiting..." (or was it "Loading..."?) messages next to the demo tracks in Firefox have disappeared and the player links have started to work there as well. Whether it was a temporary thing or maybe that some fix now has been done at the site, but the SoundCloud player problem now seems to have disappeared.

The upgrade price for me from Vintage Vault 2 would be a hefty €199. If UVI had cut that in half to €99 I just might have considered it.

I'm thinking of backing up (imaging current disk) and giving 10 a try but I need to understand what is meant by "Deactivating" licenses (as mentioned in previous posts). Are we talking just ILok or all registered (licensed) Vst's.
Unfortunately it’s hard to find two companies with the same activation schemes. The obstacles are probably fewer if you don’t go for a clean Windows 10 install, but in case that’s what you’re aiming for, here are some of my findings:
-
Obviously all plug-ins using iLok licenses stored on a computer should be deactivated on the Win 7 drive (i.e. put back into the cloud using iLok License Manager) and later dragged back to new Win 10 installation. Maybe it works anyway when not doing a complete upgrade, but considering the amount of money at stake I wouldn’t risk it and it only takes a few minutes. Any license stored on a physical iLok dongle is of course a non-issue.
-
Software licenses from Steinberg (like Cubase or WaveLab) and Vienna Symphonic Library (VSL) are normally stored on a physical eLicenser dongle and thus non-issues as well. Also some older Arturia plug-ins run under eLicenser.
-
Plug-ins from XLN Audio can’t be directly deactivated, but the XLN Online Installer will detect that you’re on a different OS and you can then easily move e.g. Addictive Drums licenses by removing your old computer and creating a new computer in your account on their web site. And that’s regardless if you’ve done a clean install or not.
-
Toontrack will let you deactivate and later reactivate software on another computer directly from the Toontrack Product Manager. Great thinking there.
-
Plug-ins from Arturia can be uninstalled using the Arturia Software Center. It's actually not clear to me if this will also deactivate the licenses, but it would certainly be strange if they weren't, as the Arturia Software Center is connected to your account when active. I didn’t have any problem reactivating them anyway.
-
When it comes to Native Instruments the only information I could find was to uninstall my Komplete 10 Ultimate bundle using the Windows Control Panel > Programs and Features and then reinstall it. That worked for me. To be clear, I uninstalled the Bundle and not all the individual Komplete libraries and effects; they were automatically removed when the bundle was uninstalled. But I still find it strange that there’s currently no way to deactivate NI plugins from within Native Access.
-
As for third-party libraries that only run under full Kontakt, they are never activated using computer-based fingerprints as far as I know and thus there's no need for deactivation. But of course there could be exceptions that I'm not aware of.
- iZotope products may or may not be authorized through iLok. If they are, licenses are of course deactivated as described above for iLok. If not, they can be uninstalled using the iZotope Product Manager. As with Arturia, it’s not absolutely clear to me whether this also deactivates the licenses, but it would certainly be strange if they weren’t as iZotope Product Manager is connected to your account when running. And I didn’t have any problem reactivating them anyway.
But of course the list of vendors goes on and on.

Falcon Truncated

There was a new version of UVI Falcon being released less than a week ago on April 4th. One of the issues being fixed in version 2.0.7 is according to the change log “UI fixes”. I have no idea what that means as I haven’t yet downloaded it myself, but perhaps you should try it.
