  1. That sounds like a Decent Sampler/Cakewalk issue. I haven't used DS in anything yet other than just jamming with it. Thanks for the head-up!
  2. I wouldn't go out of my way to pick up the NI Scarbee A-200. I got it "free" with Komplete. ? The Decent Sampler one is miles ahead on the sound! Also, I never really really messed with my Arturia Wurli V before, as I have the full V Collection, as well as other electric pianos. But I was really surprised by a side-by-side comparison with the rest. Not even close! Thanks for the tip on the SoundPaint one, but I would say that if you don't mind spending $29.99 (with coupon HALF), the Waves Electric 200 is a very good deal! >>> https://www.waves.com/plugins/electric-200-piano#presenting-electric-200-piano
  3. I believe the Waves Electric 200 HD is my favorite Wurli now. Not bad for a sample library weighing 640 MB. Not to take anything away from the Worlitzer, which is a fine effort with 756 MB by an end user not backed by a large company! It sounds great, but some may not find it as playable without some tweaking to velocity curves.
  4. Hmmm... interesting. That brightness could be a quirk with that key in that particular Wurli that he sampled. Anyway, I noticed that his higher velocity layers seem to dominate, and there doesn't seem to be a lot of leeway between soft and loud, compared with my other Wurly plugins. Ramps up fast! Perhaps not as many layers?
  5. You got an awesome deal! ? But regardless of whether the brand is Herman Miller or Steelcase, you cannot beat the warranties and service for these top of the line chairs! If you spend 8 (or more) hours per day in a chair, you owe it to yourself to get the best. My lower back problems that had plagued me for years went away not long after I bought a proper chair! True story! I paid way too much for my Steelcase initially, but an in-home warranty repair renewed it near the 10-year mark. And it's still going strong after 18 years. Original investment: $767.55, which comes to about $43 per year. And my back is still doing fine as well!
  6. Talking Synths, Episode 90: ELKA-X From Cherry Audio. Interview with Dan Goldstein, CTO and DSP engineer of Cherry Audio Trivia: Dan owns the largest hardware synth collection in Las Vegas (approximately 130).
  7. I decided to compare the 5 Wurli's that I have installed here, including this new one. So I loaded up: Decent Sampler - Worlitzer Waves - Electric 200 AIR - Velvet A200 Kontakt - NI Scarbee A-200 Arturia - Wurli V2 In a not too rigorous test, I listened to them all first as close to dry (no on-board FX) as I could get, then again with a reverb and delay plugins with the same settings on each instance. Sorry, no videos. Just my opinion here as I have never owned a real Wurli, so only have a personal impression of what they should sound like based on years of listening to recordings of them. I would say that the Decent Sampler, Waves, and AIR come closest to the real thing, IMO. But there are variances in tone for them from the lower registers to the upper, as well as velocity response. It would be difficult to choose a best overall. NI Scarbee is OK, but a bit lackluster. Arturia, WTF? That sounds like a nice electric piano, but is that really a model of a Wurli? ? Edit: I just realized that I was only running the SD sample library for the Waves instrument collection. Downloading the HD sample set now, and will take another listed to the Waves Electric 200 in HD. It was actually very decent in SD, so we'll see if it gets any better!
  8. You may want to check your controller using MIDI-OX, to see what velocity that key is sending. You could be triggering a different velocity layer with that key. When I play all 5 black keys in that 4th octave, I do not detect a noticeable difference with F#4.
  9. Don't really know for sure, as never used Enforcer. You can do plenty in Neutron as far as EQ, compression, and transient shaping of your bass. But if you want to layer synth bass on top, this might be the specialty tool for that task. https://soundbytesmag.net/review-boom-library-enforcer/ "Layering is one of the most common techniques to create sounds or to make them sound fuller or larger-than-life, and it is used in music production as well as sound design. Layering is basically stacking multiple sounds in order to obtain a complex, rich sounding and unique one. Seem easy? It is actually quite hard to balance the elements to have everything in the right spot and at the right volume. For instance, it is common in Electronic Dance Music, to use multiple synths playing the same part. There will be a main layer and different sounds enriching the spectrum, perhaps covering a frequency range untouched by the principal sound. In this case it is usually preferred to end with a solid composite in which you can not recognize the single elements but rather perceive the sound as a single one. Layering is common for drums too. Kick drums might be comprised of a “top”, just the punchy transient, which will cover the mid and high range, and the “body”, the low end. In sound effects sound design, layering is life. Sometimes dozens of recorded sound sources will be layered to make an earth-shaking impact, multiple animal vocalizations will create a unique creature voice, different vehicle sounds will make an airship engine ready to be used in a sci-fi movie. The world of layering is huge, and there are too many techniques to be covered here, like offset layering (stacking sounds and pulling them off grid), or layering with attention to different sections of the spectrum. The last case can introduce us to Enforcer. It happens thousands of times to need some punch or additional low end in our SFX or in our drum loop, and EQ might not be the answer. If I wanted to enhance just the kick in a drum loop I would have to automate the gain of an EQ band to boost just the sections in which the kick is playing. Dynamic EQs, multiband compression or expansion can help, but what about adding a clean synthesized sound right where we want it?"
  10. Take a look at your project file (.cwp) with this free standalone (not a plugin) utility "Project Scope". https://www.adamczyk.com/miscellaneous-files This was created by a Cakewalk forum member in 2017, and as far as I can tell it still works in Windows 10, and with the latest Cakewalk by BandLab. I have not tested it extensively in recent years, so YMMV. But at the very least, you should be able to get a view of the tracks, plugins, and wave files in the project file, without even having to open the project in Cakewalk. May help isolate things, or if not, you will possibly have a bit more insight into your project.
  11. Why does every discussion of Toontrack always turn into an SD2/3 discussion? I have never owned, and never will own that program. I am a fan of the Toontrack EZ line of products, and FYI this thread topic is EZkeys...
  12. While I like Toontrack, not buying any more EZkeys until they make the UI scalable like EZbass and EZdrummer 3...
  13. Hmmm... very strange! Good luck! It must be your email address they are locking up.
  14. Ordinarily I would say it's likely related to your browser or the web protection in your AV, and to try disabling all browser ad blockers and add-ons. Since you have tried both your iPad and your PC, I doubt there is anything in common there. Something may be interfering with the scripting on their website. Or your IP address may be on a blacklist that their web host is protecting themselves with. Are you using a VPN by any chance?

  16. Gotta say, that Worlitzer is a nice find! Decent sampler is also worth checking out, along with other available free libraries for it at Pianobook!
  17. Larry is free to return when/if he is ready. Long live Larry! Leave him be for now...
  18. To my ears as a music lover, of all the ADpaks that are installed here, the tones of that United Heavy kit are the most appealing to me. Obviously they are not going to work on all forms of music. I don't understand the technical reasons, it just is what it is... Although I'm sure that I could make Fairfax and Vintage Dry work elsewhere...
