  1. I liked Oblivion. But I got stuck in the Main Quest trying to shut down that damn Oblivion Gate in "Breaking the Siege of Kvatch". Never could figure that out and gave up, LOL! https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Breaking_the_Siege_of_Kvatch Inside the gate: Enter the Kvatch Gate to a hellish world filled by lava. At this point, two or three Scamps (or other level-dependent creatures) will start attacking, but you will get some assistance from Ilend Vonius, one of the surviving guards, who went in before. He can be told to stay or leave the choice is entirely optional, at lower levels he will provide some help, but at higher levels (10+) he will die quite quickly. Start out by following the path west. The objective will be the large tower in the middle. Along the way several more level-dependent monsters will be encountered. Watch out for the red Harrada plants and other small flora on the ground as these are capable of attacking and hurting the Hero or Ilend, if they chose to bring him.
  2. I think Studio One has a better feature set and workflow than either of them.
  3. And it's a rather affordable $99 upgrade from Prime to Studio One Artist, which does include VST support now. That's $50 less than the full Waveform Pro. And Artist is bundled with some PreSonus audio interfaces. Overall I think that Studio One offers a better workflow and feature set. And a user manual.
  4. I dragged a 4-bar pattern from AD2 over to a Waveform track, and then used File > "Export: Render to a file", and successfully exported a wave, flac, and MP3 file. What settings were you using? I took the defaults...
  5. I took a look today, and as I mentioned above, chord and arranger tracks are missing from the free version. The chord track would allow your MIDI tracks to follow changes in the chord tracks,
  6. Tracktion Waveform is probably the BEST cross-platform, fully featured FREE DAW...
  7. OK, just tried out the Waveform 12 Free. At first glance, the new UI improvements are nice, and the core program appears essentially the same as Pro, except that it's missing the Pro plugins as well as the chord and arranger tracks. Any plugins that you own will scan and be available. They have added a "master" track, and the global marker and tempo (time signature, tempo, & key) tracks are available as well. It also includes "Rompler" which has a usable palette of essential sounds, the 4OSC synth, a micro wave sampler, and micro drum sampler with 808 & 809 micro kits.
  8. This guy has the right idea, but even though he's aimed his idea at the professional orchestral or cinematic composer, the principle applies to anyone making music. Select effective instrumental combinations and keep it focused and simple! Templates, or songwriting pallettes! Hilarious intro here on collecting libraries (recovery plan for Deals forum addicts):
  9. Great idea! Your butt, and maybe your back, will thank you!
  10. There is usually a deal farther down the road, around the holidays, or just before the next version is announced, My last upgrade was to WF11 Pro. That's probably the last Pro upgrade for me for a while. Don't use it that much these days. It's only a back-up DAW for me that I originally bought for the pattern generators to create MIDI chord progressions for export. Studio One Pro now offers its chord tracks, plus there's now Scaler 2, neither of which were available when Waveform was first released, also having them both now makes it a bit of redundancy for me. Although it is so easy to make a chord progression from scratch in Waveform, I may dabble with Waveform 12 Free to see if there are any improvements.
  11. And if that's not enough, there is always IK Fractured Piano...
  12. https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/stshipwreckpiano/?pkey=sampletank-sounds-cinekinetik-shipwreck-piano "Shipwreck Piano is an audiophile-grade SampleTank instrument library that puts you behind an antique cinematic upright piano with vibey, atmospheric reverbs recorded from several rare and vintage digital hardware units you can also use on any audio track. It includes over 3 GB of sample content and 33 SampleTank 4 instrument presets designed to add character and mood to any composition or soundtrack."
  13. I like the MIDI pattern generators.
  14. The "Broken" in the name would make me steer clear of that one. Clearly an unfortunate marketing strategy... ? Like I got "Shipwreck Pianos" in a IKM Group Buy. Don't think I would have bought that one. It's interesting, but not your everyday pianos...
  15. Sorry, it appears that this author only released this in Decent Sampler format, not SFZ. No options...
  16. https://www.tracktion.com/products/waveform-free "The world's best and only cross-platform, unrestricted, fully-featured Free DAW just got a major update… Introducing Waveform 12 FREE."
  17. Unfortunately, it appears that this author only released Worlitzer in Decent Sampler format. Pianobook offers samplists the Decent Sampler, Kontakt, EXS24, and SFZ sample formats.
  18. I'm holding out for the next Total Studio Max crossgrade...
  19. I think you can use either coupons or Jam Points, but not both, in the same transaction at IK.
  20. Right! For me it falls into the category of "it might be handy someday", but don't need it now...
  21. I took a minute to check out the SoundPaint 1972 Wurli online demo tracks and video. I have SoundPaint and a few libraries, but have resisted collecting them as many are huge in GB for sample libraries. Thankfully, the 1972 Wurli weighs only slightly over 3 GB, so not too bad! But like you said, the ecosystem is aimed at film composers. My impression and interest in SoundPaint is as a layering tool for creating atmospheric, cinematic, and ambient soundscapes. Which is perfect if you like working in that ecosystem! Layering can be magical, but is not the same as playing a solo instrument. For solo (e)piano, perhaps a dedicated Wurli VSTi or Kontakt sample library would be more effective. I cannot imagine any limitations to that approach if you just add an FX rack like IK MixBox, or Kilohearts SnapHeap to your track. Then you could shape that single layer sound any way that you could imagine.
