  1. Everything owner here. I did not get any recent email from them. My last email from KV331 was in May 2022, announcing NKS & VST3 compatibility. I remember way, way, back that if you bought something from KV331 they would send you a personal discount coupon towards an upgrade. Sort of applying anything that you had purchased towards a future bundle. That would have been a different amount based on your situation.
  2. I never mentioned you! BTW, I see that you just joined the forum an hour ago. Register a fake account to troll the forum?
  3. On my soapbox for just a sec... [soapbox] There is a huge difference between a computer used by a music professional, and one used by a hobbyist/bedroom producer. The professional user really cannot afford ANY downtime, while the hobbyist can save a few bucks by rolling their own, and then deal with any downtime that occurs down the road. The professional has paying clients, and most likely committed turnaround times. Downtime could mean lost revenue and customers. The hobbyist will possibly need to spend hours, days, or weeks, researching on the internet and posting on forums about his issues while seeking answers. Trust me, I've been in those shoes. I've also been in the shoes of an IT pro at work (non-music related), where an outage typically cost the company approximately $10,000 per minute. Huge pressure, and a completely different perspective when your business depends on 100% uptime. Paying a premium is similar to a warranty or service plan. My company spent a fair amount on service contracts with providers. [/soapbox off]
  4. The haters apparently just made that sh*t up!!! ? And I'm rather impartial as well. I have been building my own systems for 20+ years, as a hobby. But I have to say that for as long as Jim has been posting computer technical advice here, and on the legacy Cakewalk/Twelve Tones Inc. forums over the years, I have always listened. And learned a few things. Strong credibility that one has!
  5. Pigments is a super synth! Have had it since v2. Received the v3 and v3.5 upgrades for free! 6. This is a new 2022 edition of Pinball FX in "Early Access" release as of 3/31/2022. You may very well have found it and added to your account already. It is not Pinball FX2/3. The base game is always free. Just posted as "Maybe a deal" for those not aware of it.
  7. The Xbox 360 controller works much better! The controller has the haptic "rumble" feedback that you can feel when the table moves. It's rather artificial, and non-directional, but gives a cue that something is moving. The controller uses the left and right triggers as flipper buttons, and the left joystick does the nudging. Careful though, I got a few "Tilts" using that, LOL!!! ?
  8. I'm going to give it a try with my Xbox 360 controller for PC (USB). I'm a bit of a klutz using my PC keyboard with the 'Shift' keys for L/R flippers, 'Alt' keys for nudge L/R, and 'Space' for nudge forward. BTW, there are still 6 hours left on the free play rotation for "Getaway".
  9. Too late! Already bought the pair as singles. No worries, as they are great!
  10. Hmmm... looked at that a few days ago and the price shown for the bundle at the time was more than buying the 2 items separately at their sale price.
  11. I never played FX3, but gotta say that the graphics on the new version are outstanding! That's probably why the package weighs 16GB, LOL! ?
  12. That's a very disrespectful thing to say about someone who has been a very helpful long-time forum member here, and has been building custom DAWs for music professionals for decades. You get what you pay for. Jim has actual real advice and support to offer DAW users based on many, many years of real experience. Not all musicians have the time or inclination to build their own. Did you happen to miss the testimonials from the other users in this thread, or just wake up grumpy today?
  13. Deep down the rabbit hole, I presume!!! ?
  14. Hmmm... good question! Maybe sample one of the movies listed here? https://blasterbeam.com/albums-movies/
  15. Which Instruments Make Those Spooky Sounds? https://stagemusiccenter.com/music-school-blog-winchester-acton-ma/which-instruments-make-those-spooky-sounds
  16. Soundiron is pretty cool! I have their Hyperion Strings Elements and Hyperion Brass Elements. This video is older, but demonstrates what their earlier Hyperion Strings Micro could do. Here is the Hyperion Strings Elements walkthough. A little bit deeper...
  17. OK, installed it on my Win10 PC, and it works great! Big fun! Today's free games are Star Wars Pinball: Masters of the Force, and Williams Pinball: The Getaway High Speed II. They seem to rotate them daily, hoping you will buy some tables. Just an FYI, the disk space required is nearly 16GB. I was wondering why the download took so long. Assume you get it all, then they just unlock content as needed.
  18. I started to download it on my Win 7 gaming PC today, then I realized that it's Windows 10 minimum. Cancelled... Might be brave and try installing the Epic Games installer on my DAW which is Windows 10, and has an Nvidia Geforce GTX 1650 with DX12.
  19. I do miss real hardware pinball machines! Used to blow lots of quarters on them.... Trying to "bump" the table without getting a "tilt" was a true art form!!!
  20. According to some Epic comments I have seen, you can still play your old table versions in the original FX2/3, but they will not carry over to the new version. Lots of flame comments on the net from existing users regarding this, and the micro payment system. But I am not one of them, so clueless... ?
  21. Base game always free. There are paid add-ons and subscriptions available. https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/pinball-fx This title is in Early Access "Pinball FX is an early access title, and many aspects of the game are still in active development. Early access is an opportunity for us to experiment with new ideas and figure out what works best with the help of direct feedback from the community. Throughout the coming months, we’ll be looking closely at how players engage with initiatives, features and content."
  22. Slow week... thought I'd toss this out there for those not familiar with this one. The base game is always free. https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/fortnite "Fortnite is the free, always evolving, multiplayer game where you and your friends battle to be the last one standing or collaborate to create your dream Fortnite world. Play both Battle Royale and Fortnite Creative for FREE. Download now and jump into the action. This download also gives you a path to purchase the Save the World co-op PvE campaign." https://fortnite.fandom.com/wiki/Fortnite_Wiki "Fortnite is a massive online shooter game developed by Epic Games in 2017. It comes in 3 Game Modes: Save the World, Battle Royale and Creative."
