  1. It's all good. I am also a bit sketchy of 3rd party file download sites. But I didn't want to post any recommendations that might be risky. So I matched up the downloaded file from Filehorse with the file that I archived over 4 years ago, and the file hash is a match up. That means that current Filehorse download file is an exact bit for bit duplicate of the original file that I had archived. Then, just to double check, I sent the file hash to VirusTotal, where 66 antivirus engines agree it is all clean>>> https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/dfb160aa56b14d6ff5b3ba5ab6d7ca33137444886b67a02ddbe0dba3888ae676/detection
  2. Works with wav, ogg, mp3, flac, wma, m4a, mp4, aac, aiff.
  3. Huh? Click through what? I posted the live download link at Filehorse, and it worked today > https://www.filehorse.com/download-riffstation/ That Techradar download link is old, and probably no good any longer. Just posted that article for background info.
  4. I have the Fairfax 1 & 2, as well as the Studio sets. But I think my favorite so far is the United Heavy. I also have the Vintage Dry and the Session Percussion for more vintage and acoustic stuff. Some of the beats for the associated Session Percussion MIDIpak are very cool, particularly those from Opolopo! Don't be afraid to mix & match the MIDIpaks with various kits, although some like the Session Percussion will have a different map from a standard kit.
  5. The XLN product line may not have been updated very much lately, but they do regularly issue minor code updates for maintenance, so it is far from abandoned. And since XLN is apparently co-owned by one of the most successful music producers and song writers in history, Max Martin, maybe they don't feel an urgent need to be on the bleeding edge of music tech. Their stuff just works. https://www.xlnaudio.com/about Martin is the songwriter with the third-most number-one singles on the chart, behind only Paul McCartney and John Lennon. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Martin
  6. Mentioned Riffstation Pro in the deCoda thread, but thought it might need a topic of its own. Old news perhaps, but it's been a few years... No longer maintained, but appears to still work. YMMV. Edit: Here's the download link that works > https://www.filehorse.com/download-riffstation/
  7. The best is in the ear of the beholder. To each his own. If you already have AD2 installed, you can explore the different kits and listen to the preset demos from the main AD2 GUI. The advantage that way is that you will hear the presets through your audio gear. A lot of them are heavily effected, so any available dry sounds should indicate what base sounds you are actually getting with a kit, and the weird stuff shows off possibilities with FX. If you don't have AD2 yet, the website has a demo version of the Fairfax Vol 1 ADpack. The core AD2 software is included with all ADpacks. https://www.xlnaudio.com/demos Also there's a lot of audio demo clips of the various kits at XLN Audio.
  8. "Done is better than perfect, because perfect is never done." -VT
  9. The Vintage Voice Bundle is included in the "Year Two Collection", currently on sale for $100. Plus when you log in to your Cherry Audio account, you should get a discount for any of the bundled products that you may already own. https://store.cherryaudio.com/bundles/cherry-audio-year-two-collection
  10. Correct. Those updates for v2.3.1 were released in March 2022.
  11. Have you tried Riffstation Pro (free now)? It has a slow/fast knob. Was previously sold by Fender. https://www.techradar.com/news/fenders-riffstation-pro-is-now-free-get-the-chords-for-any-song-on-your-desktop Download here: https://www.filehorse.com/download-riffstation/ The Riffstation 1.6.3 download here has the same file hash as the installer that I archived 4 years ago. All good on VirusTotal as well. It's end-of-life and not developed anymore, so YMMV. It still loads on Win10 though. Slow down knob for free!
  12. For the Rhodes sound, you really need to check out the "Famous E" from Orange Tree Samples. It is a sampled Rhodes unit that was at one time one of the most popular electric piano rentals in the LA studio scene, used by numerous producers and session players. https://www.orangetreesamples.com/products/the-famous-e-electric-piano "For Leeds Musical Instrument Rentals in North Hollywood, it was just a simple method of cataloging their instruments by stenciling letters on the cases of the electric pianos. One of their electric pianos in particular took notice by producers and session players, the one marked with the letter “E”. It wasn’t long before the “E” became one of the most highly sought-after electric pianos in the LA studio scene in the ‘70s and ‘80s, being featured in countless hit songs and albums. It got to the point where the “E” had to be scheduled months in advance for tracking dates. Its sound is remarkable: the low end is clear and defined, and it has a sweet, bell-like tone in the register an octave above middle C. The inventor of the electric piano himself referred to the “E” as the best electric piano he had ever heard. Until now, the “E” model electric piano has never been sampled before."
  13. Sometimes KORG is just weird like that. My main point for linking that post here is that there was some discussion in that thread as to why some folks couldn't see any downloads, and that may be due to the version of the collection owned. Perhaps some info in that thread could assist @Colin Nichollswith his concern above.
  14. I agree! But until I saw Supertramp in concert, all those others were "just" electric pianos to me. That's when It dawned on me that Wurli sound was unique. My mother had an organ at home, and most of the rest of us were brass or woodwind players.
  15. That's a big plus! I always enjoyed the Wurli sound in ancient Supertramp tracks!
  16. Cool! Here's my thread on that update...
  17. Is Cakewalk sending MIDI output back to the X50 USB MIDI port? That is the only way that x50 can be used as a sound module for Cakewalk the way you are set up. Also, is the X50 configured to receive MIDI in over USB?
  18. Or maybe just get the Concert Harp for $6.99. It's only 6.72GB.
  19. Do you have the Vintage Voice Bundle for Voltage Modular? https://store.cherryaudio.com/bundles/vintage-voice-bundle It includes the SynthVoice, as well as the DCO-60 (Juno-106) modules. "SynthVoice is a complete semi-modular vintage synthesizer, featuring two oscillators, a multi-mode filter, an LFO, dual envelope generators, sample and hold, and spring reverb. It's like having a classic ARP 2600 synthesizer in your modular rack. SynthVoice Filter puts the brute power of SynthVoice's multi-mode filter into a separate module."
  20. Just to confirm, I bought zPlane deCode from Plugin Boutique a while back, and the latest download version that they offer me in my account is v1.3.0.
  21. They need to release a Speechelo AI generated voiceover with Cameron's voice, LOL!!! https://speechelo.com/
  22. SynthMaster 3 update from Bulent, the KV331 SynthMaster developer: "I'm still in the process of new algorithm development: 1. Direct disk streaming (done) 2. Pitch detection/spectral analysis/spectral envelope extraction (in progress, monophonic pitch detection is almost working) 3. Granular synthesis (in progress, hoping to finish at the end of August) Thank you for your patience guys. SynthMaster 3 will be a huge step forward for us, when it is done. But I'm still at the beginning of the development cycle. Hopefuly 1st quarter of 2023 we'll have an alpha/beta."
