  1. Hey great video! I had no idea that there was a sampler tucked away in KK! Just never looked past the plug-ins... ? Thanks for sharing that! KK Sampler should stand in well for a basic integrated sampler in Cakewalk (much requested), and since it's produced by a major company like NI, it should stay well maintained. Not that Cakewalk shouldn't integrate a solution like that, but it looks like a nice workaround!
  2. I did keep those two percussions installed, as well as the harpsichord. The harmonica sounds like a really cheesy combo organ. As far the Taylor acoustic guitar and the classic bass go, I think that the free (lite) Martin acoustic guitar and P-Bass from Ample Sounds are much better! Not really a fan of their drum kits either. SI Drums in Cakewalk is probably better. ? Looking forward to your video, Reid!
  3. I love Mike's attitude, and his presentations! His videos should be mandatory for all Cakewalk newcomers (and a refresher for a few of us old timers)!
  4. I would suggest watching this video. The EQ in the Cakewalk Pro Channel would be a good place to start. The Cakewalk Quadcurve flyout will give access to many of the features discussed in the Fab Filter Pro Q demonstration of the Q sweeps. A couple of free EQs are mentioned in the video as well. But bottom line is learning how EQs work.
  5. Before passing judgement on the OP's motivations, you might want to check out their other posts for context. The OP appears to be a non-fluent English language user with a translator. Realize that CbB is now global, and most likely will attract users from all nations ... ? TLDR; the OP is interested in classical music and piano, and wishes to build a computer to record and master piano pieces with a VSTi piano using Cakewalk. No apparent experience with either building computers or recording with them.
  6. Live long, and prosper! \V/,
  7. I upgraded to the Premier Collection several years ago, and paid more than that! So that's a very good value for $29. But I would say let the buyer beware that this is old software, and that the developer has not updated it, or fixed any outstanding bugs for years, at least not for Windows 10. Not saying it's not going to work, just a matter of time until a Win 10 update deals a curve ball. For $29 it is probably worth the risk, to run it as is. Just realize that there is a reason that the price is so low. ? The best of the collection IHMO is the Eighty Eight Ensemble, and that is probably worth the admission price! The Big Bang cinematic drums samples are not locked to the instrument as the rest of the collection is. So you can use those samples in the drum sampler of your choice. The rest of the instrument collection has some quality samples, but the user interfaces are old and fairly basic, and need some updating. I have since moved on to other orchestral instruments, and no longer have the strings, brass, and woodwinds installed. But it's a great way to try them at entry level!
  8. The SynthMaster Player has up to 8 Easy Parameter (macro) knobs and 2 X-Y pads assigned per preset. So even though there is no deep preset editing in this version, there is a fair amount of performance control.
  9. I'm a bit skeptical of buying software licenses from Ebay sellers. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. ?
  10. I haven't tried this yet, but am curious now, so it's on my to-do list. I think that since an ISO is just a container file, it should be capable of holding an image of any disk format, bit for bit. The key is probably the tool used to extract the original audio CD disk from the ISO. It would be a must to be able to choose the "burn image" or "write image" option in the burning software and then choose to burn the file as an audio CD, rather than just copying the ISO file itself to a CD. A copy of an ISO would still just be an ISO with the original CD disk stuck "inside" the container.
  11. This? https://www.wikihow.com/Convert-a-CD-or-DVD-to-ISO-Image-Files Then transfer the ISO to recipient, who burns the CD. They'll need to choose the "burn image" or "write image" option in their burning software and then choose the file.
  12. It seems to me that the best deals are if you are already a customer with the current Pro edition. Pro first time is $129. For example upgrade from Pro 2020/2021 to UltraPak 2021 is $279 $149. First time purchase of UltraPak is $469.
  13. That's the lowest price I have seen! Since I already have Pigments and Analog Lab, I just looked at the V Collection and I have a $50 coupon in the cart, so $50 off of half price is $199 for the V.
  14. Hey, I bought this one back in August! A re-run?
  15. I have found that sometimes Reaper is good to have around for checking and comparing routing scenarios in Cakewalk, due to the track design being completely different for each. In Cakewalk you have specific audio, MIDI, and instrument tracks, where each track type has specifically defined rules about how they can interact with other objects in the DAW. In Reaper, a track is a track, where it seems that almost anything can route to anything. For example, it is much easier to route audio to an instrument in Reaper, as in the case of a sampler VSTi that needs an audio input in order to live sample. And Reaper seems to be much more intelligent on opening GM MIDI files (type 1/type2), where it will ask if you want to split out a track per MIDI channel if it detects that. Some DAWs don't export multi-track MIDI correctly, and I have used Reaper as a middle man to import/export MIDI multi-track to be used elsewhere. It seems they got that part right!
  16. I started with Swatches in the AAS player a few years ago, and then started collecting AAS sound banks whenever they were on special, or free. Between Chromaphone, String Studio, and Ultra Analog, I couldn't help noticing that the Chromaphone sounds covered a much broader range of sounds than the others. And perhaps that even a few sound designers seem to have pushed way beyond what the AAS developers probably had in mind for a chromatic, percussive modeling synth. It is much more than that to my ears! The arps, basses, effects, keys, guitars, leads, organs, pads, plucks, rhythmics, sequences, strings, sweeps, textures, and more make this an awesome synth! Long story, short... I've always had Chromaphone on my wish list, so that I never felt that acquiring the sound banks for it in advance was a wasted effort. I finally got Chromaphone 2 on sale earlier this year, and then grabbed the v3 update as soon as it arrived! ?
  17. I finally completed my AAS Chromaphone 3 sound pack collection with the final 4 packs that I was missing. I got a Chromaphone 3 Sound Packs (custom offer) bundle of 4 for $35 direct from AAS. ?
  18. Nice score! SynthMaster One is a very good synth on its own! The dev has ported a lot of code from SM1 into SM2 so that the SM3 should be a monster hybrid of the two when it is finished! The dev has indicated that he is devoting full time to the new release!
  19. Objeq Delay is cool. Hard to describe, but it's different, and useful for sound design. Is a good companion for non-AAS synths.
  20. I recently retired my M-Audio FireWire 410 (drivers not updated since inMusic bought them from Avid in 2012), and replaced it with a 3rd gen Scarlett 2i2. Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd gen performing flawlessly on Win 10!
  21. I think that is the same reason I picked up EZKeys as a BF deal. I also picked up Scaler a while back. I want to spend some time learning to use them to manipulate MIDI in a more productive way. But as far as ST4 sounds go, I am quite impressed with the ST4 C7 Grand Classical. I imported a couple of solo MIDI piano scores and they sounded great on that piano!
  22. Udemy frequently offers many discounted $9.99 courses. Any music courses by Jason Allen PhD are excellent. 23. I got those two as the BF specials for MIDI at Toontrack as well at $10 each, as well as Americana EZX for $20. Also grabbed EZKeys Upright Piano for $39, along with Americana and Piano Pop EZKeys MIDI for $10 each.
  24. Waveform Pro Basic will get you a drum sampler and a multi-sampler (they are tied to Waveform), as well as the Collective synth (not tied to Waveform). List of content for each edition here: https://www.tracktion.com/products/waveform-pro-content
