It started randomly playing G1 notes. If I recorded some playing it would be littered with random G1 notes. It got to the stage where if I tapped the desk it was standing on it would play G1 notes!
The pandemic slowed the return process down and the music shop where I bought it were unable to repair it so they sent it back to Arturia. I received it back from them in early December but after initially thinking the problem was fixed gradually G1 notes started appearing at random again. This time the shop agreed to replace it and I had been eyeing up these new Oxygen Pros after feeling a bit let down by Arturia.
Wow, what a terrible experience! Good for you, allowing the local music shop to try to work through it! You were probably a bit more patient than I would have been, but glad to hear they took care of you in the end! I have never had anything like that happen with any of the keyboards I have bought from the 80's to now.
Give us a report on that Oxygen after you get it set up and running!

The only free one with those capabilities that I am aware of would be TW16Wx > https://www.tx16wx.com/
There may be others, but can't recall offhand...

I am expecting a new Oxygen Pro 49 to replace my faulty Arturia Keylab Essential 49 (replaced/substituted under warranty). It should be arriving this week.
@ZincTWhat happened with the Arturia board?

Those 12ms duration DPC events probably means that your CPU is not processing any audio during those events.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deferred_Procedure_Call
QuoteWhen working with streaming audio or video that uses interrupts, DPCs are used to process the audio in each buffer as they stream in. If another DPC (from a poorly written driver) takes too long and another interrupt generates a new buffer of data, before the first one can be processed, a drop-out results.

Here is my LatencyMon Main page. And my drivers tab shows ACPI.sys has a zero value here. Yours is way too high, and may very likely be causing your issues.
That note you got there related to power management is definitely something to follow up with. Did you download and install the latest available drivers for your motherboard from the manufacturer site?
-
No need to do anything special. LatencyMon can identify problems even at idle.
A few minutes is a good place to start, and see if there are any obvious problems. If that looks good, then try different use cases.

That's ridiculous that none of their plans include ALL of their plug-ins! At least do it like PreSonus Sphere, which covers everything in the house!
I own 30 Waves plug-ins, and not a single subscription covers all 30 of them... SMH.
But that's just as well, because I never plan to join any software-as-a-service subscription plans anyway... ?

I like to check what video instruction is available around the place before I decide which VST i'm going to learn next.
That's a very good point.

Yes, that is a good idea as well (and I also did this).
The reason I posted the link I did, is because it shows you the latest version numbers of all their products in one place rather than having to go to each product's page individually. You can also download a single installer with the latest version of all of your AAS products. Best way to get everything up to date in one pass!

This is a computer I built myself. I installed Windows 10 pro, and then turned off some stuff (can't remember what all I changed though).
Then theoretically you shouldn't be having this issue with a new clean computer, with optimized settings, and a new audio interface, and all drivers up to date.
Have you tried running LatencyMon yet, to see if the computer is having some trouble running real-time audio?
The report might show a driver causing a DPC latency issue.

I'd just like to say that Applied Acoustics were really cool about supporting old Sonar customers. Good on 'em.
I first got Strum and Lounge Lizard bundled with Sonar, and after the Gibson uncoupling AAS gave Sonar users the possibilty to switch to full versions (unlinked to Sonar) for FREE. This means that I have never directly paid them for any of their products, and they still provide me with updates. This was really cool of them, especially as other companies (not to name anyone) deserted Sonar users at the end, leaving them with old legacy (and possibly unsafe) software.
So, hats off to AAS.
The AAS hats are very cool indeed! ?

And a much more modern version...

I often use SI Drums for demos because I can share them and everyone who has CbB will have SI drums. But having an easy to use free ( almost) software is another way to up the quality of what people on a budget can do. Example is Ample P Bass lite. The best sounding emulation of a P Bass I've ever used. Another one on my list to pay for when I have the cash just to get that low D.
Off-topic, but just a quick +1 for the free Ample P Bass lite. It sounds a lot like my actual Fender P-Bass! Although I never could afford a decent 5-string, I bought the Ample Metal Ray5, a sampled Stingray 5 string. It only had picked samples when first released, but Ample recently provided a fingered sample set to users for free! Good company! Nice basses!

By the way, I just downloaded and installed the MT drums and fired it up. I don't think the Nag screen is a problem at all. And all they want is a donation so even though I don't need another drum kit I might just do that because it is actually not bad at all. What I really like is totally on topic for this thread- Dead simple to assign each kit piece to an output. Just like Session Drummer. I tried multi outputs with AD2 last night and could not find the toggles. Possibly it just goes to all 16 outs. I prefer to only use 4 to 6 just like I'm used to with analog drum mixes.
Dead simple to use, right? Even though I have AD2 and EZDrummer, I think I will keep MT around for quick mixes.

I got emails from AAS for Objeq Delay and all of the Session instruments. The notes below apply to all, with the addition that Strum Session also now supports 192KHz.
Fixes
* Peaking LED did not work in the level meter. *
When a project was loaded in a DAW, the Save and Compare buttons would be enabled even if the preset had not been edited.
Notes
* This installer can simply be run over your current installation to perform the update.
* This installer is a full installer so you can use it as a starting point if you need to reinstall from scratch in the future.

I'm waiting for a good deal on the full version of Addictive Keys.
The full version of one piano is now bundled for free with Focusrite hardware, as part of the software bundle. Got the Addictive Keys grand with my Scarlett.

The free LAME MP3 encoder is supported by Cakewalk. The MP3 patent expired years ago, so nobody has to buy an encoder any more.
You can also easily export to MP3 in the free Audacity wave editor. Just import your final stereo wave mix into Audacity and convert there, as it also supports LAME.

That must be why I uninstalled it. In a way I don't like it when plug ins are advertised as FREE and then you find out its really a 30 day trial or a limited demo. I'd rather be told right before I download the terms of use. The worst one that I just did was IK multimedia. It was a bunch of time just to authorize with the "manager" and then you find out absolutely nothing is free> They are all just demos. And must have been 50 of the buggers installed cramming up my VST folder. To bad I think they make good stuff but that's not how you win me over.
Do you work for free, John? Small developers should be able to put food on their table. Supporting them is just good karma, IMHO. In all fairness their page says "Download free", which implies there might be a catch... and a nag is really no big deal, if you want to use it and you're broke.
But with big companies, I agree. When they say free, it should really be free. Usually as a loss leader, they know what they are doing when they release something for free, hoping that you will eventually buy one of their other products.
But as for the topic of this thread, MT does have multiple audio outputs. Something that the basic free drums included with CbB do not have.

Excellent substitute, but remember that you must click on the VSTi every time you reopen the project to hit the skip? Button to make it work if you don't pay for it. If not, no sound.
That's a method that has been used for years by software developers to encourage donations. I prefer a nag at startup to ads any day. If you like the software, why not pay up?
QuoteWhy donate ?
We put a lot of work into programming the plugin. If you plan to use it regulary, a small donation would show your appreciation and help to keep this project alive.
No more "SKIP" button or "Start Screen"!
Instead the plugin will open immediately, with instant sound.
Just enter the registration key we will send you after you make a donation.
(The plugin is fully usable even without making a donation. It is only to get rid of the start screen, in case it annoys you. And of course to support the product and the developer-

I would recommend the free MT Power Drum Kit 2 for individual audio outputs.
It works in Cakewalk, and is a big step up from SI Drums. Of course XLN Audio Addictive Drums is more flexible and feature packed, but unfortunately is not free.

I have an original Roland JV-1080 rack unit with a decent GM playback mode, plus much more! Many of the most well-known Factory presets and Xpansion board sounds of the JV-series were created by Eric Persing of Spectrasonics.

Maybe you can locate a used one somewhere. But the Roland subscription is probably cheaper. https://reverb.com/p/roland-jv-1080

There have been a lot of questions about which synthesizer works best in cakewalk or is the first to get. Synthmaster 2.9 plays like the big boys that contain various favorite synth engines. Wavetable, VA, sampler, FM are all available. And unlike Falcon etc., it costs less than a $100.
it isn’t as pretty and slick looking as Falcon (which I also own) and some of the other ubersynths with similar capabilities, but works just as well. Or start with the even cheaper synthplayer and upgrade if you like it.
While I have SynthMaster 2.9.9 and agree with everything you said, I would go one level lower, for ease of use. Provided you can get by with one layer, SynthMaster One is the bang for the buck. Regular prices here, but crossgrade from v2.9 for $29. https://www.synthmaster.com/synthmasterone.aspx
It's perfect for those just starting out with synthesizers, and more straightforward to program. Did I mention ease of use?
Plus you will be able to load your SM One presets as a layer in the upcoming SynthMaster 3. ?
Simple architecture with 2 oscillators (VA, wavetable, and single-cycle waveform samples) and 2 sub-oscillators (VA, noise, and single-cycle waveform samples) mixed and routed to two filters in split, parallel, or series modes. ADSR envelope configs vary with filter mode.
Import your own wavetables and single-cycle waveforms to a library folder, or by drag and drop.
Oscillator drift.
Modern zero delay feedback filters:
- Ladder Filter- Modeled on the famous Moog ladder filter, with a choice of two slopes (12dB/octave and 24dB/octave)and four filter types (Lowpass, Highpass, Bandpass and Bandstop).
- Diode Ladder Filter - Modeled on the well-known analogue filter circuit of the Roland TB-303. Includes only one filter type. Lowpass with 24dB/octave slope.
- State Variable Filter - Modeled on the analogue state variable filter found in the Oberheim SEM. This one's available in four types: 12dB/octave Lowpass, 12dB/octave Highpass, Bandpass and Bandstop.
- Bite Filter - Modeled on the 12dB/octave Lowpass and 6dB/octave Highpass filters of the legendary Korg MS20 synth.
Over 1200 factory presets. Mostly usable, and some very inspiring!
Great preset browser with search and filtering by type, attribute, style, and author tags.
Modulation sources via drag and drop, right-click, or mod matrix.
MIDI learn any continuous parameter to MIDI controller.
Arpeggiator/Sequencer - 16 steps for rhythmic arpeggios or polyphonic sequences. Allows drag and drop of a quantized MIDI file into the display.
But bottom line, lots of fun! Sure there are some great freebies out there, and I have most of them, but this is more advanced than most of them.
