  1. No worries! At least I have the complete CM Plugin Suite now! And I also picked up Dune CM and Aalto CM with that suite, which are also synths I've been meaning to check out. For $0.99 that's a pretty good collection. No more back issues needed for plugins!
  2. For an immersive 3D puzzle game experience with a similar vibe, do check out Obduction (2016) from the same developer. Huge time sink as well... $11.99 at Steam until Feb 3rd. https://store.steampowered.com/app/306760/Obduction/
  3. The games are download only. You get the code from Humble and they are delivered by the online gaming services, such as Steam and others, when you register them to your Steam, etc. account online. Each game should have requirements listed, such as Windows version. The newer games should be ok, but the older Myst and Riven games might have issues with Windows 10. At least they did when I tried them a few years ago. Good thing I still keep a Windows 7 PC around for such things!
  4. Allow me to back up and explain again. I registered current editions (new subscriber) of CM #304 & #305 in FileSilo, and saw a standalone download for Thorn CM was unlocked (not the instrument suite). THAT download only contained the Mac installer. Assume that was an oversight on their part to have omitted the Windows version. The unlocked standalone (non suite) zip files for Zebra CM and Bazille CM are dual platform. So I went ahead and purchased back issue CM #296 for $0.99, and have the CM Plugin Suite PC Instruments unlocked and downloaded now. It contains the Windows setup for Thorn CM. All good now, except that it was a bit of a hassle, and cost an extra $0.99.
  5. I got most of these at GOG, except the 2021 Myst remake. Still waiting for a price drop on that one. That's just a $10 off coupon for it in the Humble Bundle, that costs $10. This bundle is a great deal if you don't have Obduction yet. That is my favorite recent game, which I got about 4 years ago. Awesome! So for $10, you can get Obduction, plus a $10 coupon off Myst 2021 at the Humble Store (delivered via Steam only).
  6. Yep, that exactly what I thought, as the Thorn CM from #296 was unlocked for me. But I downloaded the zip to only find the Mac version... ? I reported it to them yesterday, but no response yet.
  7. You simply turn to the page in that issue that FileSilo requests the code word from. It is in the mag itself. No separate code is sent.
  8. I found that suite, but you must own CM #296 to get it. Currently available for 99 cents as a CM back issue special at PocketMags (see Larry's post).
  9. Buy the mag. Code swapping is not allowed on this forum. Please see the sticky at the top of the Deals forum from the mod.
  10. I don't think it was an update, probably just a re-release for new subscribers to CM. I don't have the original CM version, but I do have Thorn Beat 1.0.x (2018), which is a mono synth. It looks like Thorn CM is polyphonic, released around the same time. The manual was dated 2018.
  11. I'm OK with the pinned message. Keeps the kiddies in line...
  12. From the Thorn CM 1.0.x User Manual PDF (provided in this zip file): System requirements In order to use Thorn you need a system with at least the following specifications: • Modern powerful processor with SSE3 support • Windows Vista (or higher) or Mac OS X 10.9.X (or later) • VST 2.4 or VST 3.X or AAX or AU compatible host software
  13. Yes, you are correct. I unzipped it to discover that it's a Mac only version. No Windows installer. I have reported that as a problem. All the other zip files I have downloaded from FileSilo contain both platforms.
  14. Free if you own the mag #305, either digital or print, and register it with FileSilo. Worked for me!
  15. Seriously, are you trying to get this thread locked down too??? LOL!!! ?
  16. And that type of reception is possibly one thing that they are aware of and don't have the resources to deal with at the moment.
  17. I think the main issue is that BandLab has obviously devoted their developer resources to Cakewalk, and IMO is not likely to support plugin development beyond the current CbB bundle. If anything was to be re-released, they may be concerned about additional support overhead. That's the only reason I was suggesting Rapture Pro, as it was Cakewalk's most current instrument, and the originals were already end-of-life under Gibson (although they still work, for now). The fact that BandLab haven't done anything at all with these instruments in 4 years tells me it' s likely to be never. But there is always hope, and Rapture & Dim Pro are still working for me here!
  18. No piracy involved, LOL!!! ? Just pointing it out for anyone interested in picking up the mag. The headline software for this issue is actually Ableton Live Lite.
  19. Not listed in the mag, but available in File Silo for CM #304. https://pocketmags.com/us/computer-music-magazine/february-2022 No code sharing, please! But you already knew that, right? ?
  20. I subscribed to Computer Music this year and found Bazille CM in my March 2022 issue. https://pocketmags.com/computer-music-magazine Thorn CM not listed in mag, but available in File Silo for CM #305 (also in #304). Edit: Thorn CM download is currently Mac only. Suppose that's an error because there is only one download link button. No code sharing, please! You already knew that, right? ?
  21. My boot takes about 20 seconds on a modest machine, Intel i5-9600K, at 4.3GHz, 6 cores, 16GB DDR4, Samsung SSD 860 500GB boot, running on ASUS Prime Z390-A. Not top end, but fast enough for me not to have to go make coffee while waiting.
  22. I think the general rule of thumb is that if they are factory presets you are already clear to use them as Unified presets, as they would be useless to someone unless they already had a license for the underlying instrument the presets are based on. But it's probably always a nice gesture to ask!
  23. Yep, Win 10 has a lot more going on when it boots. A few years ago I upgraded a laptop with a HDD spinner from Win 8.1 to Win 10, and it was barely usable with Win 10. But YMMV. I always try to shut off as many non-Windows auto-loading processes and services as I can. You may already be familiar with this, but for the sake of others reading >>> Autoruns for Windows by Microsoft Sysinternals is free, and can give you a lot of insight into what is starting up in Windows, and you can easily uncheck any entries you wish (non-destructively) to prevent them from loading. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns "This utility, which has the most comprehensive knowledge of auto-starting locations of any startup monitor, shows you what programs are configured to run during system bootup or login, and when you start various built-in Windows applications like Internet Explorer, Explorer and media players. These programs and drivers include ones in your startup folder, Run, RunOnce, and other Registry keys. Autoruns reports Explorer shell extensions, toolbars, browser helper objects, Winlogon notifications, auto-start services, and much more. Autoruns goes way beyond other autostart utilities."
  24. You should really check out Unify. Since it is a plugin host you are able to load 3rd party plugins such as Spitfire Player on multiple layers, and never need to open or look at the native plugin UI. They are still there in the background and are accessible if needed, but can also be ignored. Great idea @Reid Rosefelt!!! Edit: You can insert 3rd party plugins in Unify layers regardless of whether or not they have already been "Unified". You just select the patch in the native plugin GUI, and set any desired effects in the respective Unify layer, then save it in the Unify user library yourself. Once you have done that, the preset is "Unified" and available to load directly from the Unify browser. All "Unified" presets will appear in the Unify preset browser, allowing you to completely bypass the native plugin UI.
  25. It's a shame that BandLab doesn't just re-release Rapture Pro, which replaced Rapture and Dim Pro back in the day. Probably not worth investing much to update it, because there is some rather stiff competition out there in the soft synth market today. Even some of the free synths are very high quality. Although it's probably not the market that BandLab is going after, but IMHO it would be very good PR for BandLab!
