  1. ASMR is an interesting "Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response" library for SoundPaint. But definitely mainly for sound design. Free Angels was a different libary offered free for both platforms, but ASMR is new, and strictly for SoundPaint. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASMR So if you like abstract sounds and textures for backgrounds and ambient stuff it's perfect! But IMHO, that's the whole point of SoundPaint... "to paint with sound".
  2. This one is bittersweet, especially if you remember the Chernobyl disaster plus the current situation there. FYI, Strix Instruments are made in Ukraine (Kyiv). https://strixinstruments.com/ https://strixinstruments.com/about-company/
  3. A great EQ! I bought it used for cheap, but free is even better!
  4. Could be that lots of folks that might be interested already have Komplete and/or Music Productions Suite. Or are all broke from your other deals... ?
  5. There is. Read Lynn's post again. You can do that with send busses. On your audio track "Insert Send" > "New Stereo Bus". Do that twice. Now insert FX on one bus and mix to taste.
  6. Is Sonar required to be installed first? If so, the format/re-stall wiped it. It is recommended to install Sonar first to pick up any Sonar only plugins, then Cakewalk by BandLab.
  7. Notice that each Sine Player instrument that is listed in the articulation list has its own MIDI channel setting (SINE is muli-timbral, most VSTi's are not). So unless your MIDI file is sending data for all channels 1-4, you will only hear the instrument respond to the corresponding channel used in the MIDI file. For example, if your MIDI file is only using ch 1, you will need to set all the instrument articulations to ch 1, otherwise the others will not make any sound. Alternatively, if the MIDI file is multi channel (i.e., ch 1-4), you will need to match up the assigned MIDI channels in the articulations to get them to play the appropriate sound.
  8. Looked up a listing for a used JV-1080, 3rd hand, with original printed user manual. $400 at Reverb! There is also another unit fully expanded - 4 SR-JV80 modules, listed at $700. https://reverb.com/p/roland-jv-1080 Wonder what a 1080 in a sealed box would sell for? Down payment on a Korg Nautilus, maybe?
  9. If you don't want to take any chances, and are determined to upgrade to Win 11, you may want to consider buying a new computer with Win 11 installed and running it in parallel with your old computer. At least until you have Win 11 up and running well with your music projects. Everyone's setup is different, so you never know if something might go sideways with an upgrade. No guarantees! Windows 10 is supported until October 14, 2025. So no rush! Let Microsoft get the details right first, unless you wish to be an informal beta tester! https://www.howtogeek.com/741245/dont-panic-you-can-keep-using-windows-10-until-2025/
  10. My last workstation was a 76-key Korg X2 back in the mid-90's (The X-series was the nineties update to the legendary M1). Then I got a PC, an M-Audio sound card, and Cakewalk. Sold the workstation and bought a JV1080 rack. ? https://www.vintagesynth.com/korg/x3.php Loved that cool floppy disk drive! At least now I have the full Korg Collection 3 to satisfy my Korg nostalgia.
  11. Right you are! Just use Skippy's method of dropping BPM Drums into everything! ? For example, start with a cool Quadra split preset, then switch your Unify library browser to UniLoFi (or anything with BPM Drums), set to insert preset automatically as a new layer. Then add search text "drum" to narrow down the list, and choose a chill BPM Drum groove at random by using the dice to audition different grooves. Now you're jamming!!! Love them dice!
  12. I grabbed the CA Quadra version! Awesome! This synth is ideal for keyboard splits and layers in one plugin! FYI, this synth comes in two versions for the host, a single audio output plugin, and a multi-audio output plugin. The single output version has individual sliders in the on-board mixer section where you can adjust the audio levels for each synth module before it gets to the master stereo output > Bass, Strings, Poly Synth, and Lead Synth. The multi version offers the stereo output with all 4 channels mixed, and in addition has a dry stereo out for each of the 4 synth modules. Obviously, the single output Quadra version is the one used in Unify today. But hopefully some day Unify will offer multiple outputs so there will be some opportunity for outboard mixing using Unify with instruments like this.
  13. Way outside of my budget, LOL!!! ?
  14. I was logged in... says I'm not eligible for the $79 upgrade. And I acquired Modo Drum in the 2020 TSM Maxgrade deal...
  15. Hey Larry, I think I'm about to begin singing your song about the IKM experience for loyal users! ?
  16. So I uninstalled MODO Drum 1.5, because it couldn't locate my already paid for (TS MAX 2) full MODO Drums content that I had installed on a secondary SSD drive. Then I used the old full installer for MODO Drum 1.1.3 (available in my account, past releases, 6.4GB), and it put all of my old kits back in place unlocked. No need to download the original kits individually.
