Don't let that be the factor that stops you from getting it. Everytime I open up EZD3 I am glad I upgraded!! It really looks much better and sounds much better too. That last part seems to kinda get lost in all the hoopla over the Bandmate and the new GUI. Then new kits that come with it are good. Really good.

Plus, Toontrack did a very nice job of working the graphics from the older expansions into  EZD3 interface!!! :)

Well, yeah, so was my question. ?

And he paid $600, he thinks, but estimates an new license at $35. He's really overestimating the cost of goods!

The weird part is that even after bluzdog kindly clued him in, he still has the ad up.

I wonder if Craigslist has moderators for crap like this...?

Is this thread tiptoeing around the pirate software rules?

Not really, because this thread is clearly a joke. Nobody here is selling it.

And If there was an actual buyer for this Craigslist  item, the software would be useless to them, as it's non-transferable.

According to the ad: "Has been licensed. You will have to purchase a user license, I think is $35? Installation will automatically open the Sonar website on your computer. Free updates are available, and additional effects plugins are available."

Big LOL!!! So he's actually just selling the discs and user manual.

    Let the buyer beware!

    Thanks @abacab

From an organizational perspective this helps. ?

I'm attempting to juggle hard drive space to make all of this fit and work efficiently. I only want what is supposed to go inside of ST4 to go into it.

The Hammond and the MODO's don't require much disk space, and they are some of the best instruments that IK makes. The MODO drum has sampled cymbals, but the rest of the kit is modeled.

MixBox is light too, and some of the best FX you will find in 1 rack!!!

would bandlab mind if i used dimension and rapture pro , even tho i did not own it?

BandLab owns the intellectual property rights to all former Cakewalk software. You would need to ask them.

X1 was a little on the buggy side, buyer beware.  ?

I would stick with X3 for the pre-Platinum Sonar series...

I guess I will check TT forums too.. but thought i would ask, what are peoples fav MIDI packs so far? Or better yet, which ones were unexpectedly better than expected.

    what are peoples thoughts on

    Rock Basics
    Singer Songwriter

    Americana

Well all 3 of those EZbass packs have counterparts in the EZkeys MIDI packs that were created in tandem so they should work together. I have the Singer Songwriter and Americana bass/keys packs, but haven't used them a lot yet. On my to-do list... :)

  9. And another thing to keep in mind about the former Cakewalk software license terms, their licenses were never transferable once registered...

Several things still continue to make the process confusing. For instance I was attempting to download and install MODO drums last night and could not determine if they are stand alone or go inside of ST4?  I had the same problem with MODO bass. I am able to load it apart from ST4 so it seems more of an independent program from ST4 yet there is nothing telling me any of this? What happens if I loaded the files inside of the ST4 sound folders?

I just use the IK Product Manager to let me know what to install. All of the products registered in my account appear with their current status, such as installed.

Here is an attempt to organize my thinking about the overall package... :)

There are 3 main TS 3.5 MAX programs that are "containers" (available as standalone or plugin):

    • SampleTank 4
    • Amplitube 5
    • T-RackS 5 (the modules can also be used individually as plugins)

SampleTank 4 MAX: Contains all of the sample based instruments, including Syntronik and Miroslav.

AmpliTube 5 MAX:  Contains 14 brand and artist collections and all 4 new virtual X-GEAR pedals, all benefiting from the latest breakthroughs in modeling technology. This massive collection offers over 400 ultra-realistic amps and FX to build your own unique sound, and over 2,500 included artist presets.

T-RackS 5 MAX: contains new modules like FAME Studio Reverb, Comprexxor and the TASCAM Tape Collection. You also get ARC 3, the advanced acoustic room correction system and Lurssen Mastering Console, plus all of the current T-RackS modules.

The other separate programs (also available as standalone or plugins):

    • Hammond B-3X
    • MODO DRUM
    • Syntronik 2 (also in ST4)
    • MODO BASS
    • Miroslav Philharmonik 2 (also in ST4)
    • MixBox

I recently heard Cakewalk is making some changes to Mackie control in Cakewalk in an upcoming update.

If true, this may add improvements for control.

Yes, definitely check out the upcoming release of Cakewalk for the new Mackie protocol options for control surface. A few early access testers said that they were able to get much better compatibility with some controllers they had struggled with using Cakewalk.

I plan to test out my Arturia KeyLab II with the new Cakewalk release.

Mackie control surface improvements in 22.06 Early Access:

    • The Mackie Control surface includes several new enhancements.
    • New compatibility modes
    • In addition to the recommended Cakewalk/SONAR mode, the Mackie Control surface now supports two extra emulation modes that can be used if your control surface does not provide a dedicated Cakewalk/SONAR mode:
    • Mackie Control Universal (Universal Mode). Emulates Mackie’s default button layout.
    • Mackie Control Universal (Cubase Mode). Emulates Mackie’s Cubase/Nuendo button layout.

    See thread here:

  12. And for those considering SampleTank 4 MAX, you may want to check out the current Total Studio 3.5 MAX deal... or wait for the next TS MAX version to come out which should include more of the recently released products (3.5 does not include them).

$199 for the TS 3.5 MAXgrade, good through June 30th. Log into your account to see what you qualify for.

    This is an FYI:

In regards to the GS-V synth huge size (27.5gb), in my ST3/Samples folder there is only one folder larger than the GS-V synth, Miroslav 2, the full edition!!! One synth almost as big as the full orchestra!!!.

    The M12 synth is 21gb!!!

I gave the M-12 a go, because, well it's one of the great classic synths. I have the Matrix-12 V2 emulation in Arturia, but the Syntronik version is  great too! :)

However, the GS-V is not something I considered a must have...

Keep in mind that the newest libraries (like Electromagnetik and Cinekinetik) aren’t included in MAX (anything released after MAX).

Right, but you do get all of these (in ST4 MAX) extra libraries for ST3 that were released after ST3 MAX...

    • ALAN PARSONS IMPERIAL GRAND
    • AMERICAN ACOUSTIC
    • ART DECO PIANO
    • BILLY COBHAM DRUMS
    • BRANDENBURG PIANO
    • CINEMATIC PERCUSSION
    • FUTURE SYNTHS
    • HUGH PADGHAM DRUMS
    • LONDON GROOVES
    • NEIL PEART DRUMS
    • ORCHESTRAL PERCUSSION
    • TERRY BOZZIO DRUMS

  15. I wouldn't bother unless going for the ST4 MAX at $199.

I have ST4 MAX and that's where more of the good stuff is, for example 200 GB of all new ST4 samples, vs. 70 GB of all new ST4 samples in the standard version.

More Basses, more Brass, more Acoustic Guitars, the Red Strat Electric Guitar, more Percussion, more Strings, more Woodwinds, the SampleTank 3 Premium Instrument and Drum Collections, and Miroslav Philharmonik 2 CE. The only downside is they stuff MAX full of some basic synth instruments, which is pretty redundant if you already have Syntronik.

See for yourself, compare versions >>> https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/include/st4/soundlist/SampleTank_4_comparison.pdf

If anyone has a few minutes please try the preset 'Abundant Vineyards Pad'. On my setup there is a lot of crackle on chords. I don't know if it is intended, my setup, or a bug

Sounds fine here! Using it in a DAW with the performance meter running, I can see that this Syntronik instrument is using less than 1% CPU with 6 notes playing concurrently.

Check your volume levels as suggested, and maybe try increasing your audio buffer size.
