I have never done it but Reaper can run off a portable drive:

It could be an option for you.
Maybe go to the Reaper forum and ask there. The article I posted is several years old before WASPI drivers for windows10 came out. I think you could use those now with reaper and the internal laptop sound-card for your work. It is not a browser solution but a full featured DAW that might fit your needs.
