HUGE warning about CapCut's new terms of service!
T Boog replied to T Boog's topic in The Coffee House
Yeah, it's freaking unreal. If anyone has EVER made a video with one of their songs using CapCut and they made the mistake of checking the new user agreement, CapCut can now sell that song to anyone they choose and the artist gets nothing. They can even sell your song to a Satanic company to use in a sick advertisement and you can do absolutely nothing about it. And if you made a CapCut video that shows ur kids faces, CapCut can use and sell ur kids pictures & home videos to anyone they like. It's f**king unthinkable! -
HUGE warning about CapCut's new terms of service!

I'm just hoping more people speak out against this. Esp musicians. I've now deleted CapCut from all three of my devices. If enough people buck this, they'll have to change their policy. -
HUGE warning about CapCut's new terms of service!

This is unbelievable! CapCut needs to be brought before congress. I don't understand how they are able to get away with these policies. It's outright evil. -
According to Google... "CapCut claims broad usage rights: CapCut can use user content, including audio and voice recordings, for various purposes, including commercial use, such as advertising and promotional material. This license is perpetual, meaning CapCut retains these rights even if the user deletes their content or closes their account. Waiver of rights: By agreeing to the terms, users waive certain rights, including the right to prior approval or credit for how their content is used. Concerns for creators: These terms raise concerns for content creators who rely on licensing agreements, brand deals, or exclusivity, as CapCut can potentially use their content for commercial gain without further compensation or notification. No opt-out: There is currently no way to opt out of these terms if you wish to use CapCut. Alternatives: To avoid these issues, creators may consider switching to video editing tools with more creator-friendly policies or carefully reviewing the terms of service of any platform they use. Important note: While these terms grant CapCut broad rights, users still retain ownership of their content. However, the grant of a perpetual, worldwide, and royalty-free license significantly limits the user's control over how their content is used by CapCut."

Thanks a lot for trying Dave. And yeah, there's no ARA effects applied to the clips. Any clips that I applied Melodyne to were immediately rendered. Btw, I forgot to add that if I adjust the length of the clip, the clip gain shortcut works again. I have to adjust the clip first in some kind of way to make it respond to the gain shortcut again. Hopefully someone chimes in with an idea. Everything works just the same as in CbB except the clip gain shortcut. And I don't get why it works the first time but then refuses to work again(unless I adjust the clip). Anyway, thanks again bud 👍

I'm still having an issue with the clip gain shortcut (cntl + drag) not working. It only works the first time I adjust the gain on the clip then it become unresponsive and just says INF- It always worked perfectly in CbB. Does anyone have an idea on what could be causing this? Thanks

I had been using CbB and recently installed free Sonar. When I uploaded my CbB projects everything sounded pretty close to the same. But one vocal track in particular had more noticeable distortion in a couple of places. It was a vocal with several open, built-in effects on it... including Sonitus gate, VX64, Breverb, Console emulator, tape emulator & 2 compressors. Also, I was pushing pretty close to clipping on it. I don't know which of those built-in effects use oversampling if any, all I know is the distortion was now noticeable and I hadn't really noticed it on CbB. And I know it wasn't confirmation bias because I had no idea at that time that free Sonar didn't have the oversampling feature. Anyway, I can only assume that that was the problem. Btw, I also have been recording at 44.1 since I have a fairly humble PC but from now on I'm gonna step it up to 48. Hopefully that will make up a bit for the lack of oversampling in free Sonar. Cheers

Thanks Wolf. A couple people in the comments mentioned Hurdy Gurdy but I didn't know what that meant. I looked it up and yeah, it's seems to be the same principle. Also, now I finally know what that irritating Donovan song is about 😆

I noticed one guy in the comments said that this sound would get old quick. I dont know but it sounds cool and IMO it would add some unique emotion on the occasional track. Kinda bagpipes meets violin
