I'm writing this as a marketing pro, but I suspect NI could move a lot more KOMPLETE 13 users by cutting one of the newly included libraries and instead providing buyers with a voucher good for a library of the same value of their choice, the rationale being that the included libraries are very genre specific.

I suspect NI could move a lot more KOMPLETE 13 users by being much more realistic on upgrade pricing :)

£449 is a great deal if you are upgrading from KOMPLETE 8,  Lots of new libraries and plugins included since then...... but for K13 users....very little useful new stuff IMO.

NI do the same strategy every release so they must feel it's working for them, but this year, when money is tight, I think it might be ineffective.

If you have any projects that use the old version, you can keep the plugin installed so you can reload old projects.  If you don't ever need to use the old version, then you can uninstall.

what's a bit annoying about that is that most of the plugins haven't actually been updated...they've just changed names.  This means I've got RX6/RX7/RX8/RX9/RX10 version of exactly the same plugin installed.

I think Izotope rename them on each release so when you install it looks like you have loads of NEW plugins....I think only a couple have changed in RX10 advanced.

I guess it was too much work and not enough incentive to keep working on it?

If you watch the video he says he offer to update it for NI.

I suspect NI have moved in a different direction and are trying to streamline what they are doing....they don't want to keep updating a massive product line.

This is such a trash move on their part. They should have stated this upfront, unless they did and I missed it somehow.

a very trash move - let's see what customer support say.   In my experience it's been pretty good so hopefully they will do the right thing

I think the real value  is when you're upgrading from not the last version and NI are actually pretty generous when it comes to allowing the upgrade price all the way back to v2.

absolutely - although you could flip that around and say that they don't really reward loyal customers.....but yes the  longer you leave it the better the deal.

    From their version-comparison table:

looks like they've ditched their old vouchers that many people didn't use

we don't really know what those vouchers are though - is there a 'minimum spend ' ? - are they limiting which plugs you can buy ?

the devil is in the details

Guitar Rig 6 has also updated to be M1 Native.  However, I’m disappointed there haven’t been any additional amps available since the release of GR6, AFAIK.

yes - they were promising all kinds of updates and additions when GR6 was released.  The devs were posting on GS with lots of ideas....never happened

Yeah, the problem is, they meant the versions within MPS 5. So yes, we will get Ozone 10 Advanced but only RX 10 Standard. I hope since some of us bought the everything bundle pretty recently (less than 3 months ago), Izotope will be king enough to make us whole ;)

possibly ? and yes you could read it as that - but those who had bought MPS 5 got an similar email saying "good news, as an owner of MPS 5...etc"

if "Everything Bundle" customers were not going to get an equivalent v10 of the products they bought then they should have been much more explicit in the terms and conditions AND in the email they sent to confirm.

the whole izotope bundle products are a real mess IMO - you still end up with lots of different product iLok codes - and being offered discounts on products you already own.

Komplete 14 includes ozone v10 (standard?) so this whole situation is just going to get worse.

"And, best of all, as an owner of the iZotope Everything Bundle you’ll automatically get both of these powerful updates as soon as they’re available and at no extra cost."

it's a bit dishonest to then give you a different/cheaper version as an update IMO.   I only bought the Everything Bundle for the free updates to v10..I had everything anyway.  I won't be that pleased if they were trying to be sneaky.

Izotope support are normally pretty good (slow but good), so let's see what they say

I bought the Everything Bundle in june and now got RX 10 Standard in my account. I think I'll ask for the advanced version..

same here - already put an email in to support

  11. I'm still on V1 and the forums seem to indicate some are having issues with V2.

As I only use NA for the occasional update check I'm not going to risk going to V2 until it's pushed on me (maybe Komplete 14 ?)

(in case anybody else cares :) )

I have Waves Mercury fully Wup'd and fully v14. I have the latest Waves Central update (just updated yesterday). When I open my DAW and search thru the many Waves VST inserts, I do not see Harmony or Waves Harmony or anything else that hints at Harmony. Where is it? How do I insert it?

    Thanks!

Have you gone to the waves website and in your account details clicked the "get latest version" ? - it won't add the extra plugins until you do this.

then you need to go back to Waves Central and reinstall/reactivate...it's a pain but that's the procedure.
