Am I wrong to say that you can just activate v14 licenses on any older Macbook (regardless of the age), and just keep even the older v10, v11, or whatever versions installed that are compatible with your OS, as long as you don't plan on updating?

that's a good question (not a dumb question ;)  )- I think the Waves installer always wants to install the latest one but it always asks permission before updating - and you can select what is installed/updated.

If you are saying your OS is not compatible with v14 then I'm not sure you will be able to install older versions if you buy plugins now....some of the plugins don't even exist in very old versions.

    (if that makes sense ?)

I would double check with waves support before spending money.

Now I'm being greedy. Are there any other active Waves coupons I may not know about?  :)  (I haven't looked at Waves for a loooong time.)

    -- edit ---

NM, it looks like I'm as low as I can go.

not sure if you can use the everyplugin waves code on a 'bespoke' upgrade - I think it's YNY23 ?

True. WUP sucks, but my old v9 plugins are still working fine.  Of course I'm on Windows so my OS hasn't obsoleted installed software with each new version...  ?

I'm not sure what you are upgrading from or if you will get 'extra' new plugins but for $39 you will get the latest versions of everything (currently v14) - and free WUP for a year.

Doesn't seem too unreasonable to me ?

Koby (Everyplugin) got back to me IMMEDIATELY!  You need to go onto the Waves site, somewhere in there there's a "Buy from a dealer" link which returns an email with a code (also immediate).  Koby came back with $39!!!  ?

2nd rule of Waves Club - ALWAYS email Koby :)

Quite a good price and almost tempting.. I know if I bought it and needed to move to a new OS/Machine, or require support, or anything and have to pay WUP I'd be kicking myself!

obviously any Waves thread will come down to WUP :)

You can move to a new Machine without problem without WUP

I assume you when you say 'new OS' you mean Mac ? - ultimately this  is a problem for all software - and lots of times developers make you 'pay' for the upgrade anyway.

Support - well I'm not sure how you put a value on that - I find most developer support useless - I've only ever logged one support request with Waves and it's still unresolved a couple of years later.  Plus you get a years support when you purchase - hopefully most issues will be resolved for you by then ?

TLDR: don't let WUP-fear stop you buying waves (IMO!)

Do you guys still using Native Access 1 can see the upgrade ? I just loaded it to check and it doesn't show any updates at all. In fact not even an update on Replika that I had to have because latest version (v1.6.0) crashes on my system so had to downgrade to v1.5.3.

    Thanks in advance.

I'm on NA v1 and still see the updates fine

Considering all that, do you think it's worth picking up ezDrummer for the upgrade pricing just for the new kits that come with it?

I did - but I got it at the original intro upgrade price.  If you are using SD2/EZD2 then it's a huge improvement (IMO).  Not sure how much it is at the moment but sometimes it's better to just take the hit, rather than buy lots of $20 libraries that never quite get you there. (that's the story of my life - buy cheap, buy twice)

Man, what's scary is that everyone posted stuff that I would also end up grabbing if there were a killer Black Friday deal, Every single post above this one with the minor note that I own SD2 and ezDrummer and have been uncertain about pulling the trigger on an upgrade to ezDrummer3  or just wait until SD4 comes out (SD2 runs great on my PC and they pulled their upgrade deal for SD2 owners long ago -- really terrible customer loyalty, IMO, but nonetheless, I find Toontrack makes the best acoustic drum sample player plugin there is).

if you like drum samples then EZD3 is a no brainer (IMO) and if you an stretch to it SD3 too.    SD3 can do more or less everything that EZD3 can do but sometimes EZD is exactly what you want.   Mere speculation but I think SD3 is a way off - they make plenty of $$$ on the expansions so no rush to put out another engine, especially as SD3 is so solid.   Hope to be proven wrong though.

When it's best time to look the best prices on Toontrack's EZ Drums and EZ Basses in the year, Black Friday, Christmas or yet another time, like summer sale etc?

all of the above and there is a sale at the moment.

Generally the cheapest way is to get their bundle packs - available for EZX and EZB

Most of the resellers seem to have dropped, or had removed, Toontrack stuff  but Best Service, Thomann and  Inta-audio still are usually cheaper than TT direct.

Yes. Referral programs are focused on acquiring new customers, so only a new customer making their first purchase gets the discount.  Some people are creating new accounts,  but, of course,  that's completely dishonest and I wouldn't recommend it for ethics reasons.

    yes - I'm gonna pass :)

I thought it, the update, nuked your settings while installing the new presets - hence the need to back up.
If not then I still need to do the 'restore' to finish my update.

on mine (Native) it kept the original presets - none of which took advantage of the new gear - I had to do a 'restore' - there is something in the installation notes about it.

I heard this collection was a little disappointing. Any opinions out there?

agree with Fleer and Larry - If I'm honest  it doesn't get a huge amount of use here but it sounds magnificent

I have the voices of soul one too - also great.

  13. like everything from Gforce - it has some quirks.  But nice to see VST3 and also good to see more realistic pricing than the hilarious Mtron upgrade pricing.

There's not a lot new from v2 but they are a small developer so I think it's a much better investment than the same money spent at Plugin Alliance (or similar)
