This one seems a bit odd. They removed these plugins from the factory content but they still work in version 12. So why did they remove them?
licensing issues I think - 3rd party supplier

I just skimmed the post you referenced. Is bouncing the ARA clip/track a viable option to reduce project size and decrease load time?
yes - just render the clip/track and remove the ARA plugin - that 'should' bring the project size back down to normal

I've installed and registered, etc. But the start up hangs on "Initializing Video Player." Safe mode doesn't help either.
there's a thread about that over at the steinberg forums

Of course Simon...I've been using Cubase for YEARS!
- just double checking
one of my C11 updates was registered on 11/10/21 and in logging into mysteinberg this morning that licence showed the registration date AND had the words 'grace period eligbile' (or similar) written after it.
this changed to NFR (actually 'not for updates' or something) after I installed the new activation code onto the dongle - this also 'enabled' a cloud based licence in mysteinberg.
sorry if I wasn't clear
SB support will sort you out - I'm guessing they will be slow as per usual.

Nope...not there...
is the dongle registered to your mysteinberg account ? there's an option in the elicencer software to register it
can you seen anything in your mysteinberg account ?

Yep...dongle is always plugged in....
if you log into your mysteinberg account and look at the licences on your dongle in mysteinberg you will (should?) see one marked 'grace period eligible' - it's written in brackets after the licence description

Aha...there is an option under the Account menu for "Grace Period Check" that get's you the license,
but I ran it and got "no license found"did you have your C11 'grace period' dongle plugged in ?

Track-level ARA functionality and Audio Warp directly in the Track Editor are big improvements which finally allow us to easily align any type of event across tracks.
yes I think they are welcome - apart from one of the issues with ARA within cubendo is that some ARA plugs (spectralogic for example) store the ARA/wav data in the project file. This means the project files can get massive. The take ages to load/save and when they hit 4gig cubendo won't load them anymore
https://forums.steinberg.net/t/cpr-sizes-go-crazy-500mb-for-simple-unmix-stems-project/160644/8
(lots of other postings on the same issue and it's an acknowledged issue )
Applying to an entire track at once just makes the problem worse IMO - I tend to render out clips and apply where needed. Maybe C12/SL8.2 have fixed the problem ?
-
I got the grace period update a couple of hours ago ?
you need to go into the activation manager with your C11 dongle and 'request it' - it's an option in the top RHS account dropdown menu thing.......
a new download code is sent - then you need to change this to an activation code (you can do this in the SDA or online) then update your dongle licence to a NFR/NFU one and the C12 licence is added to your online account
a few long needed improvements but nothing too radical IMO - which I think was to be expected

Should IK Multimedia pay attention to how this product rollout goes? I mean, it is Arturia, which means I predict:
- Little to no complaints about the product pricing, upgrade pricing, loyalty pricing, or crossgrade pricing
- A smooth installation and authorization experience
- A relatively robust and bug free product upon release
- Long term support at no cost
Right?
totally agreed
although Arturia release also usually means :
5. Unable to download for a day or so because their servers are overloaded
(it downloaded fine for me but I think I got in early?)

Maybe somebody has a suggestion for software to make my voice less boomy?
fixing at source is the best way - can you arrange some quilts/blankets around/above the filming area ?
edit:
don't get me wrong - it's great as it is - personally I'd just keep doing them and things will naturally get better as you go along.
Check out the first few videos of some of the popular youtubers - they are usually terrible, much worse than yours.

https://www.arturia.com/products/software-effects/efx-fragments/overview
dunno what it is - or how much it is but it's Arturia so it'll be good
EDIT
29 euro for me ....win

I saw how big the download was, then listened to the Demos and wondered whether it was really worth the effort!! Once you have finished downloading and installing, would love to hear your take on this
Cheers
Nigel
it already exists as an 8DIO Kontakt library I think ?
I think that's true of some of the other libraries too - (wurly ?) - I wish they'd be a bit more transparent about that

is this the first time we've seen a 'formal/official' offer including BOTH Izotope and NI since the merger ?
2 hours ago, cclarry said:Wow...I thought this would generate all kinds of buzz...instead...it's generated Crickets LOL
think you're calling that too early
IMO Izotope and NI need to merge their database - izotope have been terrible for offering you 'special deals' for things you already own and this is made worse by offering you the ALL the NI stuff you already own too.
I'm sure it will settle down but I really hope the 'offers' become a bit smarter.

totally excellent
the best production yet. ?
My immediate thoughts -
the personal photos you included are brilliant, puts YOU in the action.
agree about the glasses reflection - I'm assuming that carefully positioning/angling the light can fix that. You should keep the glasses on - adds gravitas
and authority - better to have the glasses WITH reflection than losing the glasses.
The sound is getting a bit 'roomy' - are you able to deaden it down a little or think about closer micing - maybe a hypercardiod just out of shot ?
all in all - first rate, I think you are on to a winner (whatever that means) - and I think there are lots of things you can do to keep this format moving forward but I won't distract you with more ideas just yet...

Didn't the US facilitate a coup in the Ukraine in 2014 that led to the events of today, partnering with literal neo Nazis in the Maidan coup? lol. And have since then risked sparking a horrific civil war by doing everything possible to inflame tensions with half the population + it's military superpower neighbor?
So much for sovereignty. Lol.
Always reminded why I left the West. The propaganda is nauseating.
But hey, while Americans are suddenly compassionate about war victims, maybe they can stop financing the genocide in Yemen, and gtfo of Syria and stop bombing Somalia. But those people ain't white, so nobody cares I guess.
The true situation is complicated but it's not a competition or about scoring points about who is worse.
I personally don't agree with you but of course you are welcome to your view, but I hope we can agree that ALL killing is wrong and our thoughts ...and actions...should go out to All of those innocent people affected by this terrible conflict. And all those affected by similar situations, where ever in the world they are.
EDIT
just to say that this forum isn't an appropriate place to discuss this - and apologies for posting my reply, although I'll leave it up as I stand by it.
Nuances about truth, beliefs, society and politics are not best served by discussing them in an online forum about "deals on music software" and we do a disservice by attempting it IMO. Hopefully we can continue respect each other here.

note:
VST2 only - in case you were keeping an eye on Steinberg dropping VST2 support
I emailed them a while ago and they said they might release a VST3 plugin but it's been 10 years or so ...I'm not hopeful

Any of you could answer me if Mr. Peter representative of IKM went on vacation or fell asleep not responding to so many claims of this already so extensive post?? Or maybe it has no valid arguments to defend IKM's bad attitude towards Drum Mode customers....
I'm as big a critic of IKM as anyone but Peter on the whole is ok - he's obviously paid by IKM so of course he's going to 'sell' the company line - but bear in mind he has NO obligation to come on here for you (or us!) to abuse him ?️
yes these things are annoying but ultimately you have to learn to live with it - you only have to watch the news to see there are FAR worse things that can happen.
Personally I'd very, very politely email IKM support and explain that you only bought it last week - they may well 'upgrade' you - I've had them look after me like that in the past...obviously no promises....
just my opinion obviously.

They are totally overwhelmed - it was fine this morning (UK time) but it's got gradually worse over the day. Not the first time this has happened to SB
They are aware and are 'spinning' this as a reason why they wanted to move away from the elicencer - but basically they just need to buy more bandwidth/cpu power.
