  1. I'd need to know the genre it would be used in.
  2. UPDATE: I tried them on a current project I'm working on and at least for this particular track, I was underwhelmed. I went through each preset and although they were all definitely louder, I didn't like the EQing that took place. For the enhanced clarity preset, it went heavy on the reverb and buried my snare drum. CD quality preset buried my snare drum, and the bass boost preset seemed to just boost the bass at the expense of the mid and high range frequencies. The original present actually lowered the level of my track--which is really strange. So, that's this reporter's opinion. I went ahead and started mastering the track in Wavelab that I've used for years, and my first go was already better than any of the BL online presets. Again, that was the results of the particular track I'm working on. FYI
  3. Thanks! I did my homework and decided to go with them. I will be using the web service, so bonus for me!
  4. Did a new DL of the hotfix today. It unzipped and installed without issues. Stand alone and CW plugin opened without issue too. About ready to start mastering a track, so a big "phew!" that it's fixed!
  5. I did try twice in a row, so I'll try again now that I've waited and hope it works now. Just double-click the zip file is what it says on the Celemony site, right? No iLok interaction needed for the patch? Thanks
  6. I got the email from Melodyne--so I was prepared to see the error when I did. Unfortunately, for some reason, when I double click the downloaded zip file there is a momentary flash, and then nothing. Trying to manually unzip the file produces no uncompressed installer either. Any ideas? Thanks!
  7. Other than hot fixes, aren't all of updates based on user requests?
  8. Anyone tried this yet? Is it good/good enough?
  9. Hello Folks-- The gain control in CW hasn't been playing nice. I tried multiple times to reduce an audio clip by a little .05 or 1 db. The result was silence. The section of the audio was gone (audio and wave form graphic = straight line at zero). A simple undo fixed it, but I use this feature constantly. As a workaround I had to insert a volume automation envelope--but I really need to use the gain fx going forward. What else can I tell you in order to diagnose? My rig, etc. are in my signature. Thanks in advance!
  10. Spectral Clipper and Psychoacoustic Overdrive I've got several Eventide plugins and they are top notch. This is Newfangled Audio - Here for details
  11. Oh, the state? Yes, it is the finest place on the planet. Great weather, ocean, lakes, mountains, skiing. It has it all! That's for certain! ?
  12. I'm from California and the whole state is run by clowns. It is very scary! (Is that too political for this forum? If so, just say so. It was (true) meant for fun (true))
  13. Hah! Either is fine. You can get an opposite, equally firm opinion from industry pros on both approaches.
  14. I've been away from this thread for a while and I think I've lost my place. Where are we and why does everyone post YouTube videos?
  15. That was a quick turnaround! Wow! EDIT: Hotfix installed without issues!
  16. OK, here's a strrrretch... Doctor, Doctor - UFO (See because the previous one was by the Police, which is a profession and so is a doctor).
  17. Recording magazine's current issue (August) has DAW's right on the cover. I instantly wondered if they would include Cakewalk. They didn't, but the list was very sparse generally--so not very comprehensive. I think if a magazine like Recording did a DAW review and listed the main ones, and mentioned that Cakewalk was free, now that would turn some heads.
  18. I'm Going Off the Rails on a Crazy Train -- Ozzy Osborne "...the barbor shaves another customer..." Penny Lane, the Beatles.
