  1. think he meant "you're to blame" but not you. heheh
  2. hey ron! yea, the vocals, on this one, they were pretty straight up and simple, and least simpler than most all of my previous stuff. this song was my intentional target of a simpler song format, most of my stuff is a bit more progressive leaning. travel song, which is actually called "Following Light" from my first album, is actually a waltz! but a kind of raw rock waltz. i have an all instrumental album i just did back during the lockdown, called "Elemental", no vocals...you can check that one here: https://batsbrew.bandcamp.com/
  3. you know, i have the BOSS DD-200 delay pedal, and it has a really good version of the space echo in it, i use it quite often for guitar. i guess, if i had to just get ONE (the wallet decides) it'd probably be the OB 8. tho, i'm intrigued by the dream synth, i had an original Prophet V back in the day...
  4. thanks for the heads up wookiee... didn't know about cherry audio, they have SEVERAL ancient synth models i'm interested in, besides the quadra... they have the dream synth (Ensoniq ESQ-1 and prophet 5 hybrid), jupiter 4, Memorymoog. Korg's renowned MS-20, Oberheim Eight (yes!) even the ARP 2600! so, wow, i'd like all of those!! heheh
  5. howdy ho, ron pko! thanks for listening! glad you dig it... the synths i used, i think post date the 70's, but i get the drift... and some of the samples i used (like the beeping at the end, that's a recording of the Sputnik satellite!) go back to the 50's! heheh
  6. why thanks there, wookiee! glad you heard this one... i had fun with the synths, got to dial in some hopefully 'new' polyphonic analog-modeled synth stuff, i really need to find a good prophet 5 vst for a good price (free)! LOL that, and maybe a good Arp Quadra...
  7. the focals are excellent! and if you're going that route, consider adding the focal sub one, reviewed last month in Tape OP https://tapeop.com/reviews/gear/148/sub-one-active-subwoofer/
  8. IT'S A NEW WEEK~ plenty of time for farming
  9. bumpin for the new weekend!
  10. so nice of you to listen and comment, jw thanks it was a pretty cool arrangement to work with, getting things to build exactly the way i wanted it to, took some serious "methodology" this one, i actually worked out the arrangement on paper, before i even started writing the music! i think i'll continue on that path, i've done 5 albums now, working out stuff 'on the fly', so this is a new approach for me.
  11. bumpin for juneteenth day! there is a parallel here...
  12. Bumpin for the weekend
  13. heh! i don't about that, but sometimes happy accidents happen, that just work out! i like that aspect of recording, i just try whatever, if it works, great, if not, i just record over it. i've learned to NOT be precious about recording stuff. i used to think that the 1st takes were always best, but honestly, i think you can always improve on any take. but there is something about spontaneity
  14. hey tom! glad you caught this one, thanks for checking it out
  15. thanks so much nigel the guitars were fun, because i was trying out a new technique that i really don't normally use, to play the rhythms.. and it forced me to really really focus on the timing of the rhythm parts, because i wanted them to boogie... slightly back beat, if you know what i mean... and you have to play those parts consistently, or it just doesn't work rhythm wise. once i got it, it was fun to push and pull the groove based on simply plucking the strings with my fingers, instead of using a pick. i'll keep refining that style/method, it's fun to do. gotta have the gain structure right on the amp, tho....
  16. thanks kevin! the intro was fun.... i didn't want it too long, but it had to be long enough to elicit the right vibe before diving into the abduction~~~!! LOL the wah, i wasn't planning on doing a wah part, but as i hit 'record' and walked to the pedalboard, i blindly stepped on the budda wah, and just starting going. that was an off the cuff, in the moment solo, i was planning to over write, but kept it.
  17. for folks that don't dig the videos... https://batsbrew.bandcamp.com/track/space-farmer
  18. hey jack! yea, some of those sounds were cool nasa sounds, but most were sounds i created using soft synths and a lot of tweaking. kinda gives it the old sci-fi vibe!
  19. hey, i'm all open for offers!! heheh
  20. hey kev! yea, that opening was fun. spent a bunch of time just demoing sounds to use... of course, there are samples mixed in as well, some sounds i got from NASA! thanks
