LOL... well, actually, 6/8 time. but i feel it like a waltz when i play it. the story behind the lyric..... i wrote this, right after finding out about a real hard time my two friends were having on their 'cross-europe' bike trip.... at Gatwick airport. this is about these guys having one of their 2 bikes trashed by the airlines, and then running into some friends later down the road, that showed up and helped out. they finished their trip in grand style!

it's mostly subjective, i know, but i don't want the drums to cover up the instruments, just to give as much punch to the bass and guitars as i can try to blend them together... on certain playback systems, the drums sound perfect to me, but on others, they seem too much. some systems just favor low end, and i'm afraid i might have the drums too 'goosed' for those kinds of system. still learning.

ok, direct mix question: are the drums a bit too loud in this, or just right? i'm thinking i can take them down a bit. this is a new mix.

hello paul! thanks for listening yea, the wah is fun, especially on a song like this. i don't use vsts for guitar stuff ever. if i'm using my amp, it's a Mesa Boogie Mark IIb head, into various cabs, with various mics OR running the amp head direct into a Palmer PDI-09 for the line level capture. or it's my direct rig: the the strymon actually sounds the best, but the boogie is more fun to play!

hey keith! thanks for listening top gear, yea! those guys are adrenaline junkies too... this is a new mix of this song, so i'm trying to dial in the sweet spot of the rhythms vs the melodies, i try a few new parts, and tweak the drums, and just try different approaches to the mix whenever i re-release something, like this one. it's great with Bandcamp, i can update the wav files anytime, so if i really want to keep working on something, i can. i upload 24 bit 48khz files, so it's as high def as i'm allowed to upload. appreciate the comments

the snorkler has just recently been released from bogner, interesting it went all the way back to this album. a great guitar sound, but this seems unnecessarily complicated for the end result. i think several songs could have been better mixed without 6 tracks of rhythm! love this album.
