  1. I do like using the quieter/louder macro. I use melodyne for instruments like bass guitar and electric guitar, piano, etc sometimes synths ( its surprising how often they are not perfectly tuned) as well as vocals. I use the macro to level out say a bass track’s consistency, I don’t think I ever used it on lead vocals, there I would work on blobs, but have macroed on backing vocals. Envelopes would be my next choice for this and compression my least used. Just try different methods and see what you like best.
  2. I just got 60 extra days, first I used the ikmultimedia30 and checked out, then signed back in and used the FOCUSRITE30 and checked out. I think its only for a few more days so just a reminder. Thanks !
  3. Happy holidays from the central mountains of Arizona where it is a balmy 62 degrees and sunny! Don’t miss what’s going on for most of the US and hope everyone is safe wherever you are!

    AAS Annual Freebie

I got Fear Within and I like it. Thanks to aas !
  5. RIP. Went to a concert in 81 in Philadelphia to see them with my fellow local ska band members, really Special! Our drummer was tossing our very “stylish” buttons onto the stage when they were on stage. Also playing were The Police and GoGos and Oingo Boingo who I had never heard of and became an instant fan. Special event for sure.
  6. Can you post one with that drop down that says custom with it changed to all ?
  7. I don’t know why record wouldn’t work, beyond my knowledge so hopefully someone will know. Since that it a different issue than not hearing playback, maybe post a new topic about not being able to record? As for the not hearing playback, if the meters are moving, the waveforms are visible, and you’ve checked around making sure nothing is muted and the sliders are up I don’t know what could be going on. Try opening in safe mode? Try turning off all the fx ? Maybe a vst is a problem? Hopefully some other replies can help
  8. Does the track meter move as its rolling? Does the master fader move ? I would try recording something new and see if that track plays ok.
  9. Do you see audio clip/ track images in the project or are there no audio wave looking images?
  10. Thanks for posting this, I always saw the project empty Melodyne folder and didnt know the edits were being saved in the docs folder, just emptied it.
  11. I’ve been on the old cakewalk forum and this one and have seen only a handful of women posting over the years. I have been treated with respect and been helped with issues over the years so for me it has been a friendly and productive and supportive forum. I have not seen other women treated poorly here either. Women in music being bullied is sad and probably very discouraging for the victim. I want to share my positive experience here so other women forum readers may feel comfortable about posting on this forum.
  12. I need help with my vocals so I often make and bring a piano track of my intended vocal into melodyne making sure it is correct to help guide my vocals which always need fixing. I’ve been surprised how many times a plain type vst instrument is not perfectly in tune where it should be. I have not been as surprised when something like my electric bass is off or a very padish kind of vst instrument is off. I often change notes in melodyne on instruments so I do have the habit of seeing how various vst and real instruments perform pitchwise according to melodyne.
  13. I have melodyned one track of takes that are my best and then used that corrected track for my main vocal. Then i can also use it in other ways for some interest, like make a copy or two and add some reverb or other fx to blend in with the original. I have also used the original to make backing vocals by changing the pitch and adding fx. So if you just correct one track to your liking you can mess with copies of it to add interest to the song.
  14. Keeping the platinum/sonar ones, the one I would keep is melodyne. Its great for correcting stuff and is a great creative tool too, really useful and fun for me.
  15. Just a guess but you have to go back to the original clip in cakewalk and again do this - Right click on the clip – process effect – audio effects – RX 8 connect. Hope that helps
  16. Are you wanting to render a track/clip within the project or export a track/clip out of the project?
  17. Sometimes for simplicity sake I make a new audio track and drag what I want to keep to the new track and archive the original audio tracks with all the probably unwanted takes.
  18. I got hornet songkey mk4 free at some point and used it last night. I don’t have a large monitor but it was easy to see sizewise for me. Their ad says it can be resized even up to double.
  19. Melodyne has a feature that has 2 functions- make loud notes quieter , make quiet notes louder, each with a slider to refine how much of each to do. I have melodyne version studio 5 not sure if other versions have this. I think it works well.
  20. Keni, The facebook picture of young you playing your guitar is precious! Long journey. You must have had understanding parent(s) or guardian, I say that as a somewhat discerning mom who raised 2 electric guitar playing sons ha, piano lessons 6 years for them, one also played saxophone and violin and both played the flutophone (?). The learning curve can be trying.
  21. It looks like all your tracks have names, did you name all the tracks like clean reverb, robot, telephone? Is this a template ? Track 1 it looks like there are 3 fx in the fx bin I don’t know if any are reverb.
  22. Wishing you well on your health journey! Changes can be challenging but may be rewarding. I am not able to have a strong amount of caffeine like in coffee, but i do enjoy and appreciate the small amount in dark chocolate which also has compounds that some say are beneficial. Dark chocolate is not to everyones liking, especially very dark but for me its tasty and a nice little boost.
  23. That is exciting and good! Congratulations and good luck!
  24. I think some ways to make the bass heard are eq as you suggest, boosting some of the higher frequencies, and adding saturation or distortion.
  25. Theres a setting in Kontakt you might want to check too. I have had to uncheck this box as described below in addition to changing the zero controllers setting in cakewalk. Here is the info from the NI site- https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003479549-KONTAKT-s-Volume-Resets-When-I-Press-Play-in-my-DAW KONTAKT's Volume Resets When I Press Play in my DAW Symptom - KONTAKT's Instrument volume is reset when you press play or stop in your DAW. Cause - Some DAW's are configured to send MIDI commands CC7 and CC10 when you press play or stop. KONTAKT can be configured to respond to these standardized commands to reset the loaded Instrument's volume. Solution Follow these steps to prevent KONTAKT from reacting your DAW's play / stop commands: Load an instance of KONTAKT in your DAW. Load an Instrument to KONTAKT's Rack. Press the wrench button on the upper left side of your KONTAKT Instrument. Click Instruments Options. In the Controller tab, disable the option Accept Standard Controllers for Volume and Pan. You can alternatively configure your DAW not to send the standard MIDI commands CC7 and CC10 when pressing play or pause. To learn how to do so, please consult your DAW's documentation.
