NOT A DEAL: Is now a good time to upgrade Komplete 14 at half-off?
antler replied to smallstonefan's topic in Deals
I believe it was in 14 (though could be wrong). I remember having 6 for a while after 7 came out and waiting for the Summer of Sound to upgrade to the next Komplete (i.e. 14). -
Too bad. I was hoping there would be tiers, and that I'd got left out of the emails (like last year).

Chances are their classic SDXs will go on sale (though not sure if it'd be classified as huge). For the newer ones, your best bet will be to buy the 3-pack serials. Personally, I'm a bit low on both disk space and wallet power to go for the new expansions.

I got an email for this that went straight into my spam folder. I didn't recognise the from address either, so thought it belonged there until I saw Audio Imperia in the sender's physical address at the bottom.

Potentially it's a case of not overpromising. It's a new player and they're still building it - they've only added keyswitching (I think), and I seem to remember some talk of different mics in the works (don't quote me on that though). I hope it goes well for them too. They make some great libraries. And if the aforementioned companies and others like EastWest can do it, there's scope for Musio to work out too.
-
I think I've only seen one reverse of that trend: Toontrack drum libraries used to be so much cheaper than they are today. As with anything, you win some, you lose some; it all averages out over time.
-
Orchestral Tools' SINE Player and Spitfire Audio also come to mind.
-
I do remember that was the case from one place I bought from (possibly APD), but not all. But that was a little while ago; they may have changed the way they distribute to their resellers.
-
When you buy a library, you get a single file in the download (can't remember the extension). You drag and drop it on REmatrix to get a prompt to authorise. Once you do, they appear in the built-in browser in the plugin; I admit I haven't searched my drive for files resulting from authorising. I do like REmatrix, but would love to see a UI update to make the browser a bit easier to use.
-
I think the REmatrix libraries use a proprietary format.
-
Remember you can get Freezr FREE with any purchase: if you already have their other apps, you might consider buying an expansion pack.
-
Go for it. Just be aware that I didn't create it (I have no idea who did), and it's already floating around on the Internet.

Is this one still flagged as malware?

Could you elaborate a bit on that comment please? I know everyone has a different way of working, but it might be helpful for us who are still deciding.

GForce Imposcar 2 free with upcoming issue of Computer Music Magazine

From Wikipedia (green text colouring added by me to highlight the relevant text): In the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, the standard practice is to display on magazine covers a date which is some weeks or months in the future from the publishing or release date. There are two reasons for this discrepancy: first, to allow magazines to continue appearing "current" to consumers even after they have been on sale for some time (since not all magazines will be sold immediately), and second, to inform newsstands when an unsold magazine can be removed from the stands and returned to the publisher or be destroyed (in this case, the cover date is also the pull date). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cover_date -

The date you see on magazines is the date that it should be removed from shelves, rather than when it becomes available for purchase. -
Remember the min spend went up too - I think it was $125 for the $75 voucher.

How do you mean, Jim? Is it that it's not much faster, or does it lack new features?
