I used to have to use a really crappy old machine at a company I once worked at (as a software developer). Our dev tools were fairly resource intensive and my machine would crash quite frequently. Ever since then, I typically press Ctrl+Shift+S (save all open windows) after typing every three words

Don't you also have to pay an annual ZDT fee as well?

I think AI's going to open up a can of copyright worms, or at least make some ripples in the area. As things are now, works are copyrighted and people can claim copyright infringement if there are substantial (or even unsubstantial as we've seen in some cases) similarities in works. AI can be really powerful, but AI needs to be trained on source material. If I understand correctly, some governments are making all works open for AI learning (there may or may not be a possibility to opt out). As the output of AI will be derived from its learnings, there is going to be a whole lot of new AI generated music that will sounds like the various pieces that it was trained on. I'm not sure how copyright if going to be affected by this.

This is slightly different though: The reward money is there to bring regular priced items down to their base price and can't be used for the showcase deals. These vouchers bring the showcase deal prices down (except for the exceptions that they specify) by a further $20. I can say whether this will make it any more worthwhile; I'm just saying there's a slight difference in the two discount schemes.

There one in a plugin here: https://haveaudio.com/collections/virtual-instruments/products/uap-unique-audio-plugin

Version 6 has two new updates that I do appreciate: Track icons. Yeah; some people don't care for them, but I find them really useful for quick track identification on the console view. The new video track. I started experimenting with video scoring and it's really nice for video to be more integrated in the experience.

Ooh: this does look interesting... Could someone tell me please - Does this run off your own computer, or does it have to upload to the cloud to render? Does it need an iLok or anything like that? Do the voices ever go on sale (besides being bundled with the initial purchase)?

This looks more like an expansion, but there's Dark Horizon (not on sale) https://www.bestservice.com/dark_horizon_crossgrade.html

Did you get the licences back? If so, how long did it take?

Did you try clearing your browser cache? -
Do you feel that it needs a v1.0.2 patch? If so, what needs addressing?

I lost too. Strange game - no clue what the prizes are. Boom Library has a spinner game - prizes range from one sound effect from their libraries, to bonus spins, to coupons. At least you get to see what the prizes are though.

I used to have a colleague who used a graphics tablet and stylus instead of a mouse; he claimed it was ergonomically better for him.

In addition to Irid, don't forget about Audiority Xenoverb

Which ones, and what makes you say that?

It's not particularly cheap, but the best way to get a discount on individual SDXs would be to buy a custom 3-pack https://www.toontrack.com/product/sdx-value-pack/ If any resellers give the occasional site-wide coupon, these are something to have in mind if you're looking to expand your drum sounds.

Not a Mac user, so sorry for the dumb questions. If something isn't M1 compatible, does that mean it doesn't run whatsoever on an M1 Mac? or that it's not optimised? And does M1 compatible software work on the new M2 Macs? or is that another update to wait upon?

I wouldn't say that. You still get to do a spectral profile of your song and compare it with those of reference tracks. I see it as a sanity check that my mix/master is within the same ballpark as other songs in the genre. It's always possible to use whichever tools you want to shape your mix, and then compare it again - much like using iZotope Tonal Balance Control (for visual reference only)/Mastering the Mix Reference.

I wasn't 100% sure (quite a few DAWs look similar) but I made a guess based on this forum Nice track colour-coding by the way!

I started a music-related blog recently, and my two most recent posts are about learning to EQ. One goes through my thought process when mixing a downtempo song and mentions some EQ settings that I used. If this sounds interesting, there's a link to it in my signature.

They are very nice - I love their modularity too.

Me neither. Maybe it's based on spending patterns/willingness to take subscriptions?

Ooh - I'd not thought of checking GPU performance. I usually just check the CPU bars in the DAW. I'll remember to take a peek next time
