  1. The demo on the product page generally sounds pretty good. Don't know if it's just the processing, but he sounds like he suffers from a bit of sibilance.
  2. Very true. The advantage of Larry posting it rather than the developer though is that the thread gets to stay open because of the advertising rules.

    PA Amp Alarm

The question is: would you rather pay $29 for a plugin with inaudible aliasing, or $199 for pretty much the same plugin that doesn't have aliasing (but for all intents and purposes acts and sounds the same)? Of course there's always the option of using stock plugins, which are pretty good these days. Pretty sure that's not exclusive to plugins. I once heard about a pair of trainers/sneakers that cost 2 figures to manufacture, but sold for 3-to-4 figures because it had a commemorative logo on it. Fashion shoes and sports merchandise also probably fall into this category too. Monster cables? How about an Apple Mac Pro Stand for £949.00? Back!

Looks amazing, Larry - hope it was as fun as it looks!
  5. Ahh... Maybe I misunderstood. I thought Sander meant one button to install all Toontrack products (like the Melda/Kilohearts installers), e.g. for setting up a new DAW - it'd download all of SD3, all of Legacy of Rock, etc.
  6. That would be one scary download session if someone had SD3 and all expansions ?

    Back!

Looking forward to it! and Welcome back, Larry!
  8. Wow... I'm guessing they wanted that thread to silently disappear? In any case, a ban is a pretty strong response
  9. Yes, I agree. I've come to understand that products - not just music - only really sell with a story; this made me realise why all of these products have a my story section where it describes how someone first come up with an idea and then did whatever it is they did: stories sell products because we as people relate with stories.
  10. I agree. Having a virtual singer sing exactly what you type in is really quite incredible. I wonder how that's going to work. Right now, we associate a voice with a certain artist. When different artists start sound the same (because they use the same SynthV [or alternative technology] voice), it's going to be quite strange; I suppose it's no different from artist, featuring vocal artist though. I also get the feeling that it's going to lead to online debates about real vs. sampled/modelled, like the discussions that already exist about real vs sampled instruments.?
  11. I agree - customer support is pretty good from my experience. I once bought a bundle package. They announced a new version a little later along with a grace period. My purchase date was before the grace period began, but only by a few days. I contacted them and they included my purchase within the grace period. They make great products too that I use on all of my mixes.
  12. Yeah... to be fair though, upgrade offers can go pretty low if you wait for the right time and shop at the right place. They're also fairly generous with their upgrade grace periods. They're just not that great if you look at the loyalty coupons when logged in - they even offer to sell me upgrades to products I already have. ? I'm just thankful their DSP coding is better than their loyalty sales detection algorithms.
  13. Something to keep in mind is that sometimes companies restrict applications to a certain geographic region for tax purposes.
  14. You might possibly want to take a look at Zero-G ETHERA Gold 2.5. The main library is Clara (female), but there is a an instrument or two with Daniele (male).
  15. I'm slightly surprised (though not that surprised) you didn't mention the more recent announcement from Waves and registering serials. I'm not sure it was a sales tactic. It was around that time that they switched from DVD-only-distribution to an online download platform; possibly there was a technical reason behind it.
  16. Effectively 80s-style synthy music
  17. Maybe speed - if you have project deadlines and don't have time. Maybe also if you'd like a ballpark mix/master to compare against.
  18. I would guess that your emails were safe from (roughly) the time you pressed No. My guess is that the active cookies got them into the account, that flagged the login verification, and then when you pressed No it initiated something to lock the account out - maybe invalidating the cookies on Google's end to force a logout. It's a good idea to migrate, but I don't think they would have had access for too long. Please bear in mind that this is just my guess - I don't have any knowledge about how Google's systems actually work.
  19. I'm guessing the malware app uploaded the cookies immediately after it installed the Chrome extension, so (unfortunately) clearing cookies when closing the browser wouldn't help much if that was the case. I don't know much about how a Yubikey works; I'm guessing that it works in the same way though - it generates a one-time-pad (similar to the 2FA), rather than having YouTube constantly checking it like a dongle. I'm happy to stand corrected if wrong though.
  20. You don't like the sound, or the UI?
  21. Whoever it is, they're going to need magic coffee* to post deals at the same rate ? * magic coffee: when you make coffee using Red Bull instead of water; not a drink I recommend anyone to try
  22. Safe travel, and hope you enjoy the time off!
  23. They did a sale during the Black Friday just gone
  24. It says Unlocked where it used to tell you how many uses there were remaining
  25. Sorry to hear you got hacked Simeon. What happened when you opened the application? I don't mean how did it steal credentials; I mean more like, was there any clue that it was malware?
