It works. Pretty awesome. That is some inspiring 3:08 ????
-
Clean, polished and tasteful as usual ????

Thanks tom. Yeah, I should have brought the cymbal midi velocity notes in Piano Roll down a bit. As far as mastering I'm really not. I just keep the recording levels above -6 with no red distortion and run aux tracks in console view to make volume and tone adjustments. This usually works but not always (the bass could have a clearer, cleaner tone). The drums in the song are from three different SI Drums loops that I luckily didn't have to modify. Appreciate the info and kind words ????

Thanks Nigel. You commented on the two things I knew needed more work, the cymbals and bass. The cymbals are part of a loop from SI Drums that sounded good on half the music systems I listened on and a bit loud/splashy on the other half. All I needed to do was adjust the velocity in the Piano Roll on them but I thought I was being too picky. The bass sound is the same situation, for some reason I couldn't get a clean tone. As I mentioned to treesha in the above post I may redo it using SI Bass. Thanks for listening and comments ????

Thanks treesha. Yes, the song doesn't stay light all the way through, I was trying to reflect the ups and downs of trust....I really didn't think a light feeling all the way through was an honest take on the reality most of us go through in matters of trust lol! You are correct about the bass, for some reason I couldn't get as clean a tone on it as usual. I may redo it using the SI Bass. Appreciate the kind comments ????

Thanks John ????

Yeah, you've done a great job on this one. The music has a chamber orchestra quality...it's like a river of sound, I'd be hard pressed to put any one instrument as central to the song, although it's probably the bass, as they all fit together so seamlessly, mix is very well done. Vox fit the song perfectly. Unique, intriguing and accessible sounds ????

Good song and performance. Being a live track it doesn't have the studio polished audio but I think it would have been a great record with all the tasty bells and whistles that studios create ????

Hello Wookiee. The tones and motifs communicate. I wish you, and all who you wish happiness to, the inner strength and wisdom to guide you all through to a more peaceful and meaningful reality ?⛈️⛅?

Hi all. This is called Trust, instrumental as usual. If I had to pick a genre guess it would be Alternative. All critiques, compliments and questions welcomed. Cheers ???? link: https://larryterrano.bandcamp.com/track/trust DAW: Cakewalk by Bandlab pc: windows 10, i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40 GHz, 8GB ram, acoustic and electric guitars, harmonica, focusrite scarlett solo, arturia minilab mkII, arturia analog lab 5 lite, CbB effects reference speakers: M-Audio BX3

Yes, the only thing the 58 sounded pretty good on was electric guitar solos (I used it on "a'Reggae Music" last April). Thanks so much for the help ????
-
Thanks! A year ago I bought a low price Shure PGA58 cardioid dynamic and didn't really know how good or bad it was recording acoustic and electric guitars and harmonica. I decided to try an old Audiotechnica AT801 omni directional condenser mic I bought around 1975 and immediately heard a vast improvement in clarity and tones. And the AT801 was only around $100 ( I guess that would be about $500 today??). Once I heard the difference I realized how important it is to use the best mics I can get ????
-
Very good composition. Lots of interesting musical movements all through. Can't help but reference an Andy Partridge/XTC feel, please take as a compliment as they were one of the best ????
-
Great work. Beautiful. Can I ask what microphones you used? I've only been doing this DAW thing for a little over a year but it really seems that there is no substitute for a really good microphone. I'd probably invest in a couple of great mic's than new instruments, guitars or amps as the difference I've heard is amazing ????
-
Another very, very good song and interesting production. Maybe a bit less reverb on the drums. The lead guitar is perfect. Nice arrangement touches here and there that keep the song moving and interesting. I'd bring the bass up in certain sections. Vox are great ????
-
Sounds great. I'd bring up the vox a db or so, think of some female backing vox as well, maybe a call and response section. Love the cowbell ????
-
It some times does hit similar musical emotional buttons as Georgy Girl but only in a passing way, not as a foundational motif. Good stuff ????
-
Thanks Bjorn. Appreciate the kind comments. I think that I've finally developed my listening on how to hear and kind of what to do to create a semi-decent mix. They aren't professional quality like yours and a few of the other artists here, but they are better than the ones I did a year ago. Cheers????

Thanks Grem. The drums are an SI Drum loop in CbB. I loaded it in and then edited the MIDI notes in Piano Roll so it would fit the song ????

Thanks jeff. The harmonica was played live by me on a single track, which I then auxiliary tracked and then EQ'ed both tracks and panned each to create as clear and wide a sound for as I thought was needed ????
