Well crafted, played, sung and mixed production. It's contemporary but not a constant barrage of vox. The musical interludes work. The vox really work. Would have liked a proper ending as the fade out was a bit rushed. Overall excellent work. Good Luck!????

Well done. Interesting composition. A definite sci-fi quality. The drums and bass do a great job of moving everything along with, as you say, a deliberate bit of stress and intensity. The synths add a lot of stress and intensity with some melodic touches along the way. You did a great job composing all the individual motifs as they are radically different from each other yet sit well to form a unique piece of music. You have a lot going on there!????

Very nice soundscape for a drive as you described. Ends abruptly though????

Thanks Kevin. Here's a screenshot from the project of one of the electric lead guitars at 00:36. I used my six string electric to a Focusrite Scarlett Solo audio interface. Opened up THX and loaded Bank 5 TH3 Inspired, Preset 3 Clean Dreamy. I had to lower the Darkface'65 amp head volume to 3 to get as clean (no distortion) a sound as I could out of it. I also made an aux track to further adjust the EQ of the guitar for optimum clarity with the other instruments in that individual passage of the song. Pan is full left and full right on the guitars in some sections. Also a lot of volume corrections to tame the high parts (transients)????

Thanks Nigel. Yes, they are good ideas for sure. I may revisit this song soon????

Thanks freddy. Appreciate the kind words ? ? ? ?

Thanks Makke. Appreciate the listen ? ? ? ?

Oopops!!!! I blame society? Sorry Freddy, Rock On, sir????

Thanks Bjorn. The project took over 60 tracks (including auxiliaries), it took awhile to get the mix as decent as it is. The maracas ? alone are three tracks. The basses are eight tracks. And it still needs one or two more somethings to bring it to the next level. The surf sounds are interesting, maybe an owl ? ?, lol!????

the music: most impressive, that's a great arrangement/composing, the playing and interweaving of all the instruments was excellent, the bass playing (I'd turn it up a dB), piano playing and horns are excellent, the drums don't create a groove but do move the song in the correct directions as required (slow, medium, quick tempos) the vocals: took awhile for me to understand your vocal style because I've not heard anything like it before (like some of Joni Mitchell's more daring vox), and, truthfully, I really don't listen to music with vocals much at all anymore (excepting Thievery Corporations songs with Lou Lou and some of their other extraordinary singers) so, I think you are an acquired taste vocally but your music is most impressive; compositionally excellent, extremely well played, recorded, mixed and mastered, looking forward to a lot more????

Thanks so much John. I agree with you. I will work on that. I reached a point with it where I just thought I'd set it aside and didn't even post it here till now as I stopped work on it a few months ago. Looks like I have more work to do ???? Thanks treesha, appreciate the kind words. I put this song aside kind of knowing it wasn't quite finished and you and JohnB both noticed that too. Gonna have to work on creating the missing piece to give the song the elements it needs ????

Hi Rex. As I've said before your voice is great. You should do your best to get on The Voice or American Idol, a show like those. This song is really good but you lift it higher with your voice than most other vocalists could do imo. As said already it doesn't need much more, maybe a little tambourine for some character/depth. Great work????

Hi Nigel. Great production, mix, performances, arrangement as usual. Good song????

Good song ?. my 2 cents.... you are correct, intro is a bit long intro from 00:00 to 00:09 has two noticeable drum edits, seems like the song really begins at 0:10 introduce the guitar riff you play around 2:47 to the intro, or maybe after the first verse....it's a good riff, i'd use it more bass needs to be louder/clearer you have a good handle on writing horn parts, maybe that 4 note horn riff at the intro can be played a little less often and write another horn part for some variation cheers!! ????

Hi mark. Here's my work flow: 1. Create an Audio track. 2. Record via Scarlett audio interface my 4 string bass part. 3. Go to Console View. 4. On the Audio bass track Left click the + on Sends. Left click on Aux Track. 5. Rename the aux track "aux 1 bass1" or whatever. At this point I can use both tracks Pro Channel EQ for adjustments and/or create another aux track from the original (or the first aux track) to further manipulate the bass audio. Here's a screenshot of my current project Velocity:

Interesting post Jimbo. Well, vox AI has arrived along with AI music....I need to think about this stuff for awhile. At first they sounded like human vox to me, adequate, but not much more, which is pretty much the standard for most musicals. I think at the 3:00 mark when you have them harmonize it's a bit of reveal that they're AI. I can say that none of the voices stood out as being, say, an "incredible talent" like a Little Richard, Paul McCartney, Elton John, John Fogerty, Joni Mitchell, Peter Gabriel, Sting, etcetera. But, knowing how fast technology develops it's pretty much inevitable that at some point a break through AI voice or two or more will become created. Will people still be inspired knowing that the vox isn't a human vox but formed from a different type of creation, that is non-biological? to be continued....????

Great work all around. I agree the bass could be coming through a bit cleaner/clearer. I've found that SI Bass is very clear and running aux tracks in Console View is a great way to adjust/correct although I don't use SI Bass too often as I usually play the bass with my Yamaha 4 string through a Focusrite Scarlett Solo interface and use multiple aux tracks to beef up/adjust the sound. Also, I do tend to record some of the instruments/VST's section by section (i.e. intro/verse1/verse2/chorus1/etcetera) which really gives me the freedom to adjust the sounds of each instrument in each section so as to get the best audio for that individual section. Very time consuming and takes more effort but I enjoy hearing the results????
-
Thanks Nigel. Yes, with only 8GB of ram I have to be careful what instruments/VST's I can comfortably utilize. Some of the VST's I have use way too much. Hopefully be upgrading the pc soon????

Thanks John. Wayne's phrasing, choice of notes and melody lines will always be inspiring????

Thanks daryl. Appreciate the listen and kind words????

Great work. This video should be a required watch at all high schools. The music score you did fits like a glove????

Well done, as usual. I like it but would have trimmed around a minute. The song builds and builds so i was hoping for an explosive lead guitar, synth, violin, whatever explosion/release around, say 2:08, but that's just me. You sort of do what i mean around 3:10. Nice production with a strong vision????
