  1. I'm new to synth's too, so, don't know if it has another name. I've watched some YouTube synth How to Play tutorials and found this stuff, which explains controls that every synth has, has helped: ☆Oscillator-creates the sound ☆Filter-cuts unwanted frequencies ☆LFO-effect to add movement ☆ADSR(Amplitude) Envelope-affects the timing I'm using Analog Lab V Lite by Arturia. I really can't praise the wide spectrum of musical possibilities it offers enough. Here's a screen shot showing the Portamento control (not all of the synths have it, guess it depends on the type of audio it can affect):
  2. Thanks Rik. I do believe you are right....I'll ring Ghostbusters!!!! Cheers????
  3. Thanks so much. This is the song where I learned what a synth's Portamento knob does (example: from 00:27 to 00:34). Cheers????
  4. Greetings all. This is "Where Ghosts Go to Die". Nits and crits welcomed. Cheers???? link: https://larryterrano.bandcamp.com/track/where-ghosts-go-to-die DAW: Cakewalk by Bandlab pc: windows 10, i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40 GHz, 8GB ram, acoustic and electric guitars, focusrite scarlett solo, arturia minilab mkII, arturia analog lab 5 lite, CbB effects reference speakers: M-Audio BX3
  5. Excellent. The lyrics are great, as are vox and the production you used....tasteful flourishes of beauty....the instrumental section works....really nice????
  6. Excellent. Well written. Nice melodies throughout the song. The only part I'd change is delete the big change to upbeat around 2:13, leave the mood as is, but just my taste. Well done????
  7. Haven't heard the original but what you've done here is great. Groove, vibe, vox delivery, tempo variations....all great????
  8. Beautiful. Great song melodies, well written by Kenzie. Minimal yet powerful lyrics. Production is sparse but works perfectly. Your daughter's voice is amazing on this. She makes it real and valuable. Good luck????
  9. I listened to yours first then Townes version. They're both great. Your version is better musically imho, a different kind of production that respects the original but adds valuable originality????
  10. Great stuff. Playing , mix....everything. This piece reminds me a bit of one of my favorite albums of Pure Reason Revolution "Amor Vincit Omnia"????
  11. Really nice, especially MrsDaryl's vocals. Great playing, production and mix????

    Laughs

Great work jack. This one reminds me of a song you posted here a year or so ago, "My Special Place" if I remember correctly, that one has always been my favorite of yours. Cheers????
  13. Nice work. Everything fits together really well????
  14. Nice job. Simple and to the point lyrically and musically. Nothing on this planet knows for certain how it got here which makes for an interesting life, to say the least????
  15. Great music there. Your vox are a bit more restrained for this one which does give it a bit more accessibility. Your songs are full of great turns and ideas. It's a bit long for me and the words are truly sad but, they describe emotions most all of us have experienced in one form or another????

    Rain

Excellent. Great sounds. Great vibe. The Chicago Transit Authority first album style is present but in a well crafted and useful way????

    Realize

Excellent. Writing, playing, production, mix, Voice. Love your stuff. I get the same vibe from your music as I do from Thievery Corporations mellower songs when they have their female vocalists sing????
  18. Beautiful. I would have brought up a few sections of the backing track you did, especially the triangle sounding sections. Have you heard any of the North Sea Radio Orchestra's songs using chorus? "Move Eastward, Happy Earth" is fantastic (they recorded another version [maybe an edit or remix??] called "Move Eastwards, Happy Earth"....either one is fantastic). Cheers????

    Yellow Panther

Great tune as usual Makke. Enjoyed the brushes on the drums....are they live? If no, may I ask what VST you used?????

    Program Me

Yeas, this is real nice. Clear, pure tones on the synths. Everything well written and played, mixed, mastered. The reverb use was perfect, not too much, not too little. The guitar playing is spot on. Enjoyed the short "cool down" outro????
  21. Thanks mark. Good observations. As soon as I get a new PC with more RAM I plan to try something like Ozone 10 Standard for additional sound options????
  22. Thanks Ross. The harmonica was live but took numerous takes and edits. Cheers????
  23. Thanks freddy, appreciate the kind words ???? Thanks John. Yes, Windham Hill music has always had a special place in my heart (ear????) Cheers!!???? Thanks Bjorn. Appreciate the listen. The drums came out well I think. Enjoyed doing an up tempo one????
