Cakewalk can do this as well. Its called Fit to improvisation. It seems you might be new to Cakewalk by Bandlab. It might help to read up on some of the existing features first before recommending new features.

Yes. The minimum requirement is Melodyne Essentials. Glad it helped Jim.

ya. The link I left in my comment above. Click on that orange thing ( "Melodyne Tempo drag and drop)

Another idea to save space is to delete all those installers in your Downloads folder. There's over 40GB right there. Grab a 20 dollar flash drive and back them up or if you have an external HD, back them up there and then delete them.

I see your problem right here... You have your Sonar X3 installers next to Reaper installers. These 2 will argue all night . Seriously though, I doubt the slap back is due to decreased space on your HD, but I do agree with you that if you need more room on the HD, best idea is to start removing things you wont need. You'll want to start by saving any plug in presets, pro channel presets that you have made. Personally I would also save Project templates, Track templates and saved VST/VST-I settings as well. When uninstalling previous versions your main concern is parts of existing installs that CbB needs to use. I would make a list of plug ins you need (Beatscape, V-Vocal, exc) and uninstall everything. Then install Sonar Platinum's latest release. then Bandlab's latest release. You can always go back later and install plug ins from previous versions by doing custom installs using the installers you have saved in Windows Explorer. Someone else may give you a better idea, or add on to what I proposed here. But this is how I approach it.

Have you tried using Melodyne (drag to timeline) function ? Melodyne Tempo drag and drop
-
I can understand what your saying there. However having an open inspector allows for editing things you normally cant do in console view. like this... It also allows you to have a full size Pro Channel without having to expand every track in the Console View. Like this.... And as @John mentioned it can be collapsed/minimized (and even closed) if users prefer not to work in such a manner. We all work so differently, im just glad Cakewalk is deep in Multi-Docking functions so we can all work the way we enjoy to. I personally have Project templates set up with saved screensets to work the same way every time I open Cakewalk. It allows me to work with the layout I want and that's all that really matters to each of us.

You have my vote. 5 starts

Both you and I can be opinionated at times, both you and I can also be rough around the edges sometimes as well. With many users, comes many different views. This community/forum has the best turn over (question/answer) rate of any DAW on the net. I do agree with you on that.

Can you post a larger photo of that error ? Something is obviously causing your project to crash, it could be something other than that plug in like a failing device, corrupt driver, exc. Also cant really help unless I have some details like OS (including bit type-32/64 ?) and soundcard.

I had put in a feature request a few years ago for advanced markers. My idea was to have a marker view where you could rearrange all clips in that section to play. This would allow ease of use for creating different sequences. Example- Play verse, bridge, chorus. Then use markers to arrange chorus, verse, verse, bridge. This would allow us to arrange a song in any fashion to hear parts in different order by simply using the advanced markers Vs. having to copy/paste parts in different places.

Just curious but how are you changing velocity's ? Try this way and see what happens.... Using the smart tool, Hover over the top of the midi note until you see the icon change to this. Now click and drag up or down to adjust velocity. - For problem solving purposes, I would avoid having multiple tracks showing in the PRV, just open the one track your trying to adjust velocity's on.

Is there a reason your trying to uninstall previous versions ? What you don't want is to uninstall shared folders. There is no real reason to uninstall previous versions of Cakewalk, Sonar, exc. I have 3 versions on my PC. If I can understand your question better I might be able to help you more.

90% of us have had no problems installing Bandlab, matter of fact I have never seen a membership renewal pop in Bandlab. You were given some great answers on the other thread you commented on.

FYI @Starship Krupa I think you are awesome Hope that didn't sound like I was making you out to be unreasonable. Your last comment was the exact same thing I was thinking. I just didn't write it.

You seem to have the same issue as I do sometimes with the feedback section of this forum. you tend to not totally grip a users requests for what we deem to be absurdities. Im trying to get better at it, so I can absolutely understand where your coming from. im not knocking you bud, your just like me. I want to like your last comment, I just find its the same thing im trying to improve on . But I guess what we sometimes see (as pro users) is the beginners sometimes see things differently, but I whole heartily believe the beginners can see things we don't.

Please fix zoom (to focused track)!!
chuckebaby replied to jono grant's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
A few things, 1- you didn't mention how you are trying to accomplish zooming. Are you using the zoom buttons, the zoom tool, Keystrokes, the timeline zoom ? 2- you have about a slim chance of someone from cakewalk fixing this (if they can repro it) by simply posting it here in the General section of the Cakewalk forums. 3- Report it to Cakewalk directly. More info can be found here... For what its worth, I cant repro this problem. but then again, I have no clue as to what actions you are performing. Leave cakewalk detailed info in repro steps. example... 1- select track 2- use keystrokes CNTR+UP/DOWN to zoom in on tracks 3- exc, exc, exc -
Tracks playing back through speakers not headphones
chuckebaby replied to RICHARD HUTCHINS's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Go to preferences/Playback and recording. Switch this to ASIO. Your not taking advantage of your devices driver by running it in anything other than ASIO. This will then give you access to the ASIO settings in preferences/Device settings. -
How do I move my projects to a new PC
chuckebaby replied to RICHARD HUTCHINS's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
That's good to hear. Personally I don't use bundle files. I much prefer WinRAR as an alternative. Cant say I have total faith in Bundle files. -
Best Way To Get Started In Midi For Audio Editors
chuckebaby replied to HappyRon Hill's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
It really is a matter of experience and years of use. Wish there was some easy shortcut but it takes time to learn. However there are easy steps to just get to started. Heres a 3 videos I made a few years back. they are not great but they will get you started. 3 ways to midi Basic midi Drum editing -
I don't think so. There is the use of Lopping which will stop playback at a current point, problem is, it will restart at the beginning of the loop. Would be nice if Markers had advanced options allowing "Stop" "Go to" "Advance".

I think @David Baay is on to something here, its a great place to start.

You got that from here ? https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=48145

Like I said, I know its not always practical. I do some large scores myself and all detailed work (adding in notes) is done in a relatively medium zoom. It should also be noted, most of us doing scores, read a keyboard fairly well and don't always need to see note names. But, I can sympathize with users who don't.

Option to edit gain clip in default control mode
chuckebaby replied to Bronxio's topic in Feedback Loop
There's no need to bring up the tools menu (T). Your default tool (The Smart tool) will do this all. 1- Open the clip gain in a lane/on the clip. 2- Click and drag on the clip to make your selection. 3- Hover over the clip until you see the double sided arrow 4- Click and drag Up/down.
