  1. I once bought a course on mixing that included FOH setup. Aja was the album they used as a reference. "Play the reference through the FOH until it sounds like how you know it's supposed to sound!" Good advice. ?
  2. Just realized that a Hawkwind day would make alphabetic sense for me! ? I've been in a Prog mood lately and went from Djam Karet, to Eloy, to Gentle Giant (who I'm listening to now). I guess an "H" band should be next, ya? (The alphabetic order wasn't intentional, and I guess "F" got left out!?) All of that out of the way, there certainly were a lot of items discussed that bring back memories! I used to play a '76 Les Paul Classic through a Rat with a Space Echo. I had a Peavey amp around that time as well, but I must have gotten one of the crappy ones and got rid of it fairly quick. My main talent was that I was completely able to make it sound like muddy crap! ?
  3. Talk about abrupt endings though! ? It's been awhile since I've had a Hawkwind discography day; will have to have one soon!
  4. Didn't realize you had a Royal Title Sir None! ?
  5. People enjoy nonsensical irony Steve! ?
  6. You'll have to ask Google! There are lots of videos about this and... you can prove it to yourself!
  7. I wouldn't be too sure about that! Much of it is already gone...
  8. Um, actually SMS stands for Short Messaging Service and has nothing to do with authentication. (MMS is its bigger brother and stands for Multimedia Messaging Service). There are several ways to implement 2FA which the most common being a texted PIN and having to use an Authenticator app.
  9. Reminds me of the video (that I'm too tired to go look for) where a guy has both Siri and Alexa in the same room. He asks Siri when it thinks of Alexa and it responds with "I think she's very nice." Then, across the room, Alexa replies with "Thanks!" I'm sure that having devices that are listening 24/7 would never be used by certain entities for nefarious purposes though. "Alexa: Tie my shoes!" Alexa: "You're not wearing shoes right now..."
  10. Isn't this exactly what 53mph said happened to him? ?
  11. I say the actual reason is 2FA! (British humour applies here! ?)
  12. High winds knocked out our power for about 80 minutes. It's events like that that make you question whether it's a good thing for everything to require an app!
  13. *Now thinks my joke was too subtle?* ?
  14. I used all those tools (in conjunction with Cakewalk) and thought they were all awesome! Definitely some memories...
  15. Here's one! https://www.amazon.com/Windows-Password-Reset-Drive-Server/dp/B0CH5BKFMR#:~:text=[COMPATIBILITY] Red Key USB will, system or lose any data.
  16. Even better, get one of the thumb drives that all us IT consulting geeks have! All you do is go into the BIOS during bootup, select boot from USB, insert the thumb drive and... once it boots up you can wipe out the Admin password (plus other stuff!). I've used mine a few times when a customer fires an employee but can't get into their password-protected computer or laptop. Definitely better than having to reinstall Windows! I'll have to find mine and get the brand. In the meantime, I'll try to remember where I bought it!
