  1. Tora Tora -> Toro Toro (a minor stretch - LOL!)
  2. Tell me why I don't like Mondays I want to shoot The whole day down *Side fact!* Brenda was a year ahead of me in school and I not only ended up with one of her school books, but I was walking on a trail behind the school with a friend on our way to Junior High (now called Middle School) when the shooting started and had bullets aimed (unsuccessfully) in our direction. The closest being a ricochet off a fence post that was very close. A playground supervisor yelled at us to get down so, for about 2.5 hours, we were on our bellies while the police frenzy took place below us. Then we snuck off - they (and, more importantly our parents) never even knew we were up there! We only went to look because we thought someone was setting off fireworks...
  3. A guy goes in to see a proctologist complaining about discomfort. After the guy bends over, the doctor examines him and proceeds to pull out a long stem rose! "Who did this to you??!" inquires the doc, "I don't know," replies the guy, "is there a card?" ?
  4. My favorite Damned song (actually a cover of someone else's song, but whatever!).
  5. Stevie Wonder walks into a bar...
  6. Here's a full album you might like. The first song is a bit slow to start, but I think you'll find several of the things you were looking for in the original song here. The guitarist is the main force behind the Mystery (probably my favorite prog band at the moment - they have a LOT of good stuff though the vocalists are a little different than Naoki).
  7. Not the song I'm looking for, but a similar jazz feel and vocalist (just no transition into rock...).
  8. I wish I'd learned this stuff back when I was just 1F... ?
  9. I think a "What's your favorite reference album/songs?" thread might be useful! I like Steely Dan's Aja (usually for live setup) and No Doubt's Return of Saturn (for loud, but well separated stuff). Others come and go.
  10. I think the Parr song is closer than the Communards (or anything by Bronski Beat), but it's still not what I'm trying to find... If I can ever figure it out, it will be shocking how much it sounds like the OP's song! I'm sure I have the song, but just trying to wade through the 5,500+ artists I have (3,300+ in my media player, with about 2,200 still to be imported - over 350,000 tracks in total) takes a lot of time!
  11. Just looking for a little clarification, the headphone amps being discussed are mainly to help you mix wearing headphones, right? I used to have Behringer's headphone amp (see below), but that was used so that each of my friends that came over at lunch-time could have a "personal" mix with more of them in it if they so wished. Worked great except for all the cords (this was before decent cordless headphones - I bet those might work great now for the purpose I was using them for)!
  12. {Notes for Notes: AC/DC -> Electricity! ?]
  13. Never heard of them, but those plug-ins look right up my alley!
  14. *ZZZZZZzzzzz....* *Must remember to tell Paulo that JonBouy has all my money already...* *Ooo, ooo, eee, eee, aaa, aaa!* *Flaps arms and then drags knuckles on floor before looking for a banana...* *Finds out that I already have Audacity on my computer and had completely forgotten about it - probably needs a serious update...* *Must remember to thank Paulo; maybe he'll want a banana too?" ??
  15. There even used to be a preset on my Korg N5 called "Film Drama" - sounded exactly like it!
  16. These threads make me miss Jan (Old55). He was so good at this type of stuff! I'll eventually find the song I've been looking for and will then have to try and find this thread so my reply makes sense! LOL.
  17. This may not help much, but I literally call that "Film" music! (Really!)
  18. Hey! That looks just like... Er, nevermind! ?
