While true, this isn't what was being discussed. Loudness wars in terms of albums means losing all the headroom and compressing everything to mush so that the wave form looks like one big sausage. This topic is about playing live at a volume that is known to injury the ears of the listeners. That said, here's another example of what you're talking about:

I have two coffee makers. The first is a $12 Mr. Coffee that only does one thing: Makes a perfect pot of regular coffee in 14 minutes (which I always drink hot & black while working - I have a mug warmer so I can enjoy it slowly). The second is a Nespresso Dolce Gusto Genio 2 which uses expensive pods like crazy, but can make any weird-sounding coffee-like drink in mere seconds (this one only gets used on lazy weekend days since, IMHO, the coffee isn't warm enough, there's not enough of it, and... see my note about coffee maker #1). Here's what it looks like though:

Burnout -> High Speed GTO (can't you hear the tire squeal?) My friend's nephew is the guitarist for White Wizzard. Saw them with my friend when they came out this way. I end up talking with the guitarist about modded Marshalls while my friend had a headache due to the excessive volume (even though he wore ear protection upon my insistence - lol!).

Ok, hopefully this doesn't sound too weird, but SOMEWHERE in all of this is a positive, it just may take a bit of looking to find it. I just had this idea: Call up your local newspaper(s). Maybe they can make a story that people will see which might catch the thieves or, possibly, catch the attention of someone who can help. It's worth a shot!
