Yes they are, and I am gonna test it in a moment. EDIT: Yes, it still crashes Cakewalk whenever I tried to load a program within it. Though I discovered an oddity. So earlier today, I installed the free Psytrance MPC Demo pack from Drum Depot, and I was able to load the programs under "Programs > Psytrance > Bass" but nothing else. It should be noted that I am still running under Windows 7, so that might be a factor. Running the 08/2020 build of Cakewalk too. So I guess we still gotta wait?

I am in the market for an interface that will allow me to record hardware synths, use my mic for recording and voice chatting/streaming and recording a guitar, as well as handle the MIDI setup for talking to my HW synths. I had been using my SD-50 as an audio interface for a while, and I plan on retiring it so I can dedicate its function to being a MIDI tone generator module. What would you recommend? I am looking at the Audiofuse series by Arturia, the AudioFuse studio seems to fit my needs, but the price....ouch. The 8pre also seems nice in terms of recording options and expandability, but it lacks any form of MIDI interfacing, or direct monitoring/loopback

Okay so after some tweaking and messing about, I have figured out how to get the best experience with MPC Beats when using an Arturia Keylab series keyboard, I have the Keylab Essential 49, so I am not sure how well it will fare with other similar models. So the first step is to go to the MIDI Control Center and copy the DAW preset to the User templates section, and then in the copied preset, change all of the encoders to Relative #1. Make sure that the pads are all set to channel 10. It might be a good idea to also have a specific channel set for the faders and encoders too, though that is optional. My advice would be to hard-set the encoders and faders to channel 1. When done, save the template and store to one of the user preset slots. In MPC Beats, select the Arturia Keylab Essential mapping while you have the map select on the keyboard set to the preset slot. Then go to Edit>Preferences, and then go to MIDI/Sync and set Arturia Keylab/Essential to "Master", "Control", "Track" and then set the controller port, which is sometimes called "MIDIIN2" to "Control" and "Track". it should look something like this: Now go into the MIDI Learn panel and set the mappings for the pads and Q-Links. The final step here is important, because otherwise, you will get problems with keys colliding with some of the button assignments. So you know how most of the mappings are set to listen to events on either channel 1 or 10? Well, by default, you are in User Channel 1, and that is why you will get collisions where pressing A4 will accidentally undo instead of play a note. The great thing about MIDI channels in MPC Beats is that it doesn't care as long as you're inputting the notes in the right track. So what you need to do is set the User Channel on the keyboard to 2, or anything other than 1 or 10 by holding the "MIDI CH" button and pressing the key that is assigned to your desired user channel. Now all of your notes that you are playing from the keys are at Channel 2, and won't collide with the button assignments, which are on Channel 1. Happy beatmaking! It seems like it's already been done, and I don't like waiting. So I'll just work around it, and frankly, committing to a sound helps the workflow better.

I guess I'll just use it in standalone mode and import stems to Cakewalk

It appears that for me, MPC Beats is unuseable in Cakewalk, as it goes unresponsive and crashes as soon as I try to load anything into the plugin's interface. Templates, programs, plugins, etc. Not sure what's going on there.

NI REAKTOR 6 Update: User Blocks now in Racks
Mánibranðr Studios replied to TheSteven's topic in Deals
Hmm, I wonder how long it will take for some of the modules to be Blocks-ready. -
This is a pretty good analog plugin for when you need a track to come in hot.

I am not sure anyone noticed this, but this bundle of 3 libraries for Iris 2 is on sale for 45% off at €28.93. https://www.triplespiralaudio.com/product/iris-2-soundset-bundle/ It should also be noted that Iris 2 itself is currently $9.99 until the end of the month. So now would be a good time to capitalize on this deal.

If you're willing to spend a bit of cash, these deals are active this month and you get the Reason Lite Rack plugin and Reason 11 Lite DAW for free. (Also check OP for a no-brainer deal!)

That's a mood, I definitely feel ya there

Unable to create instrument tracks from preassigned audio/midi track
Mánibranðr Studios replied to Mánibranðr Studios's question in Q&A
There could have been some sort of setting that I had missed that prevented the creation of instrument tracks, I just got around it by just saving the multis in an empty project, deleted the instruments in the project and just remade the instruments in another instance. I then manually copied everything over from the orphaned MIDI tracks. -
I have found Manjaro easy to install and use. The only real issue is that it's just as easy to hose your system if you're not paying attention during something like a kernel update.

audio plugin deals 60% Off Cabal 8 by Wavelet Audio
Mánibranðr Studios replied to Audio Plugin Deals's topic in Deals
To be fair, Cinematic came out after the Full version with the Direct DI, Crunch and Hi-Gain, and it's really just the Direct DI run through an effects chain and then resampled. You can probably get a similar sound by running the DI through a transient shaper, tape saturation, clean amps, a soft LPF, a couple of reverbs and then delay.- 25 replies

I have found a lot of inspiration playing around with Reaktor 6's Blocks platform. NI's Raum and Replika are pretty creative reverb and delay effects that I have found a lot of use for. If you need sounds, I have found that the Mosaic series by Heavyocity are pretty damn good. With the full version of Kontakt, you might find a lot to like from Karanyi's scoring instrument Continuo, Triple Spiral Audio's Gh'nuhan and SonuScore's Origins Bundle. I also used RA's Cinematrix to great effect with this song.

Oh I agree. Cults imagery and story telling involving the cults is cool, but being a part of one? Not a good idea.- 25 replies

Mánibranðr Studios replied to Audio Plugin Deals's topic in Deals
I mean it does fit, considering that a lot of metal goes into the subject of satanic worship and the occult. Being upset by it is like taking the classic Doom game from 1993 and making a breakfast cereal advertisement with it... ...oh wait, someone already did that.- 25 replies

Unfortunately, they only process tip payments through Stripe, which I don't have. Maybe that will change and I would be able to enter my paypal info for tip payments. In any case, here https://www.bandlab.com/ladyfuzztail/albums/9ae569e0-11bf-ea11-9b05-000d3a919c95
