  1. There's no 16 track limit. The limit is ony set buy your systems capabilities. The TTS-1 can use all 16 tracks but you can keep adding TTS_1 's as many times as your system can handle. And there are plenty of dedicated VST instruments. Each instance of a VST instrument can use the same channels other VST instruments are using. It is only when you use a multi channel instrument like the TTS-1 that channels matter. You should really spend some time watching the tutorial videos and learn how this all works. You won't get far by just fiddling around without knowledge of Cakewalks MIDI structure.
  2. That totally sucks that those models use ASIO4all, Generally it is not recommended to use anything but a proper ASIO driver with Cakewalk.Asio4 all is NOT a real asio driver. It is a wrapper. If your using on board you can use WASAPI. But the real issue is you will not have proper synchronization because asio4all is just like all none ASIO drivers and it cannot properly report the round trip latency to Cakewalk. So the timing offset needs to be adjusted to make up for this. You will need to perform a loopback test to find out what your actual Round trip latency is first. Or better yet take that one back and get the next model up that comes with a proper ASIO driver.
  3. These threads go the same route as the ones about interfaces. What Steve said about there’s no point in telling someone what they need without knowing what they are doing with it is so true. Like all this taking about having a zillion GB of data or 64 GB of Ram. This is overkill for many home studio set ups. Example. I don’t use loops and I don’t score movies. I think if I looked my instrument sample libraries use under 60 GB of storage. And I have 4 machines all set up for music and because I don’t store anything on my C drive they all only have well under 100 GB of space used. So why would I need a huge OS drive? Not everyone uses sample libraries or even a lot of effects. You build the machine that meets or exceeds your needs going with quality not quantity. Quiet operation is 1st priority. Lots of USB ports. On board graphics that support extra monitors. Power supplies are also really important for both noise and quality. there’s lot you need to think about.
  4. You have not provided enough information to even guess what is wrong. The more details you provide the faster the correct answers will be delivered example Version of Cakewalk Hardware used Driver mode Is this an audio or midi piano If midi what VST instrument are you using Did you optimize your pc is it up to date
  5. https://www.amazon.ca/Samsung-Internal-MZ-77E500B-AM-Version/dp/B08QBMD6P4/ref=asc_df_B08QBMD6P4/?tag=googleshopc0c-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=459592838100&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2550236935566703888&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1001901&hvtargid=pla-1148927274600&psc=1 A 500 GB SSD drive is well under $100 these days. All you need is a small screw driver. Swapping out the drive is pretty easy. The $500 must have included complete back up and cloning etc.
  6. Sorry. I spent some time last night reviewing my Tutorials and found way too many errors. But I think judging by your screen shot you need to understand the way the left hand side bar Track strip view works. It shows the focused track on the left and on the right it will show the focused tracks output destination. If it is a midi track as in your screen shot, it shows advanced midi settings, if it is a Audio track or an instrument track it will show the output destination Buss. If your using a sub bus then that will show. Otherwise the Master bus will show on the right. In my Tutorials I always show the Buss Pane can be shown/ hide with SHIFT B or drag it up. It is by default hidden.
  7. I know this is sort of obvious but I have done this myself-- Make sure to empty your recycle bin. Until you do you don't gain any space. My Wife's laptop has a 120 GB drive and we are forever moving stuff, in her case it's always pictures and movies. You really get a performance hit if your maxing out capacity. You want a 120 GB drive at below 80 GB , 60 would be ideal. Cakewalk software doesn't take up much room. But if the sample libraries end up in C drive they are the biggest part of the storage. I just checked and my Cakewalk Content folder is 4.4 GB mostly this looks like it's Rapture Pro which I never got around to moving. I would consider getting a bigger drive put in there for sure. You can even do this yourself and start a thread here in the computer sub forum and we can guide you through the steps. It's actually easy to do on a laptop. The time consuming part is re installing software but if you don't have a lot of apps this is no big deal. I rebuilt 3 computer over the last year or so. What's cool now is Windows 10 uses a computer ID system so you don't even need a windows key anymore. It automatically activates on it's own.
  8. I already suggested this and the op tried it and reported the issue did go away. So it is possibly just how this VST manages its samples and memory usage as reported by @bitflipper
  9. Video removed for editing.
  10. If it were me I would simply reinstall Cakewalk to your C drive which is were it belongs. Once you have that sorted make sure you store your projects on the other drive. You should be fine as long as you don’t store any data to the C drive. Just use it for the Software.
  11. For sure 2 SSD Drives. I have 2 x 240 GB SSD and then a 1TB DATA drive for back ups. I also have a bunch of external drives for data backup. My C drive has never gone over 50% and I use mostly default paths for installing. The second SSD drive is my working drive for projects and it’s only at 40% right now. But I only keep recent projects there. All else is stored on the backup drives. Lots of treads on rebuilding. My advice is to copy the Command Center download folder from your old computer and copy the installers to the new system CC download folder. This eliminates re downloading
  12. If your audio interface has a loop back feature this is easy. I use OBS for screen capture but it also streams.
  13. The correct name for the classic sound is a Envelope Filter. A stomp box like my Mutron or my MXR are not swishy. If the effect is swishy it’s not a Envelope filter. A proper Envelope filters are voltage driven. The harder you pick the deeper the filter goes. So it’s like you are in control of the Wha with you hand not your foot. This is why they are a very cool expressive effect Because the proper sound is from your interaction with your guitar I would not want to use this effect as a VST I can’t see getting the correct reaction I don’t think it’s possible to have a VST react to voltage you would just peak your signal level Of course you could automate a wha VST and possibly use your joystick controller to manipulate a guitar track You want to hear killer wha tracks check out @batsbrew in the song forum. In this song I'm using my Mutron
  14. When I see someone having issues with SI instruments install, all I can think is what did they do to cause this issue. SI Instruments have got to be the easiest thing to install and use out of all my collection of VST’s.
  15. So what happens if you “replace” the synth with something else like Strum Session Just trying to use trouble shooting 101. Process of elimination
  16. I think I’ve seen other posts about this. First CbB is 100% 64 bit and therefore doesn’t support some older VST formats. Don’t quote me on that but it’s more than likely the issue with Groove Synth. And just the other day was a solution to when SI instruments don’t run. So Google these issues for answers. @scookwill know the answers
  17. The keyboard needs to show in Preferences/ Midi/Devices as an input option. As Greg has said make sure you select that as the input to the midi or simple instrument track first. if it’s a midi track make sure that outputs to an instrument track.
  18. I think the Feature Request sub forum is the place you get best responses
  19. The obvious answer is to set you scan path to the correct folders You don’t really say much about what your issue is. Are these VST you installed just now or are they from Command Center from a pre existing install or are they from Sonar 5 ?
  20. As I said in the PM I bought one of those and it will work but not road worthy. Along with the Stealth I also used to use a Pedal that was originally sold for dictation. It’s built like a tank. But make sure it works with other software. There are lots of single foot switch pedals too.
  21. I don’t understand the problem? You copy and paste to any place in a song anything you want. Exact placement is a matter of learning how to use the tools properly. lots of tutorials on the subject of pasting audio or midi.
  22. Do you see midi data in track view? Does the track playback audio?
  23. See I was right. And it doesn’t matter if wired or wired the internet will sometimes start doing stuff in the background that kills recording. Been like this forever. There is also the issue of the ridiculous high buffer settings and possibly the old school external drive. For $100 you could get a SSD external which is well worth a try. I have used one for a long time when I’m jumping between my 2 computers and never had issues. And as far as the internet goes I just disable it in the network settings. Easy to turn back on.
  24. But what the op is asking about is that they can stand 10’ from the computer and Cakewalk will stop and rewind to the beginning when it reaches the end. All those toggles still require human interactions
