It’s a screenshot of my video. Yes screenshots of all the audio settings would help even if not in English. But makes me wonder about what OS you are using if it doesn’t have a Sound settings tab?????

And audio interface has good audio drivers. On board audio can work just fine but need to be set up properly Watch video # 1

Did your sample rate change?

Troubleshooting 101. Swap stuff out until the issue goes away. This can include The VST instruments The keyboard controller- try the virtual keyboard The usb cable USB ports. Even though you don’t think it’s a buffer issue it most certainly can be . Audio interface will certainly improve things in that regard

Isn’t it great to be back on stage! Not only am I playing live again I’ve already been at 3 great festivals.

To me this seems simple! open PVR and drag the notes back to the place you want them to stop sustaining? Also check there are no CC 64 on events at the end.

I agree with @David Baay If a sound is mono then it should always be a mono track. If you accidentally recorded it in stereo the first thing to do is convert it to mono. Then the tracks pan control will be logical and controlling placement in the mix is straight forward

Far from it. Cakewalk is complicated and has a zillion hidden gems like these. You never stop learning

Yes plug ins. It’s always a plug in. You might not have changed settings but you might want to see if you’re using a plug in you hadn’t used in the past

And don’t forget you can also use the CTRL/W. this toggles space bar behaviour between stopping in place ( pause) and rewind to where you started from.

bug report Abnormally High Input Volume
John Vere replied to AsYouCanSee's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Did you turn on the phantom power? These videos contains lots of info about proper audio set up in Cakewalk 1-Audio Set up Complete instructions https://youtu.be/JM8rKHQ9GIo 20-How to set up an Audio Interface https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2pnDOC7HEk -
"Process Effect - Audio Effects" TAILS
John Vere replied to musical573's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
No, because doing what you did is only applying the effect to the clip just like you would expect. The clip would have to become longer to include the tail of the effect. One solution is to use an effect send on the track then the clip will feed that and not get cut off. If you don't want the effect anywhere else then automate the send. -
I have the M4. I had to purchase a PCIe USB 3.0 card to get it to run properly. It's bus powered like yours. And even after all that I need to run it at 512 to avoid any glitches. On the exact same system my other 2 interfaces can run at 128 without issue. But from what your saying you probably have not even installed the drivers yet and are running on Windows driver which explains everything.

You beat me to it I was going to say insert Voxingo Span or a similar spectral analyzer in the effects bin. but the Pro Channel Eq is a great idea as it's built in. As said when ever you need to hear or see any effects while tracking you have to always turn on input echo. You will here a small delay caused by your systems latency. If that bothers you just turn down the tracks fader and use your interfaces direct monitoring system. This is of course for what your doing which is just Looking at a Plug in. If your wishing to hear any effects then the fader needs to be up.

Thanks for your positive feedback I’m glad it worked. I guess in the Sonar days we had books about using Sonar and magazine articles etc. Now everything is a video. I do think Scott R Garrigus is still writing articles I see him posting on Facebook Cakewalk pages I write all my tutorials out as documents first as I research topics. I should clean those up and post them for people to read. I find I babble and waste time if I don’t read a script.

There should still be no interference between the programs but the important thing mentioned above is always have back up copies of your projects. I’ve never had major issues opening real old CWP files in new versions of Cakewalk other than the typical missing plug in stuff. They all show up in the bins and tracks in brackets or something like that and so it’s easy to figure out what they were and replace. But for sure don’t try and open a file saved in new version in something as old as Sonar 7. I still have 8.5 and I can’t open anything but an original very old project or a midi file. There’s no reason to be uninstalling the software. It is recommended you install your oldest version first and then install the newer in sequence of release. I just do 8.5, X3 and then CbB. Then I run Command Center.

You let yourself fall way to far behind with your recording set up so it makes it hard to get help with things that are not really an issue anymore for millions of DAW users. Best advice I can offer is to take a little time to bring your system up to speed. Cakewalk has seen a zillion improvements since Sonar 7. Sounds like all you need to do is replace a few outdated VST instruments with newer ones. We all had to go through that as time moves forward. The transition from 32 bit to 64 bit is still a work in progress. Lots of great plug ins never got upgraded. Tell us what instruments you need and we can offer replacements. There are hundreds of free plug is and instruments available And if you need help re learning Cakewalk go to the Tutorials. I have a complete series that walks you though the features step by step

Cakewalk Bundles: Can they Be Used With Other Programs?
John Vere replied to Annabelle's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I have a tutorial on how to transfer projects to another DAW I realize that video is not the best format for you, but I think my narrative covers the whole topic -
Often when a feature is missing it is because of the Workspace setting. Change to the advanced workspace

Lots of Free wave editors are available. They all do MP3 conversations. Or why not up grade to the latest Cakewalk which is free? It has everything you want and more.

Forum tip# 205: When a first time poster asks a question let one person reply. Even if the answer doesn’t help much watch and wait. If the poster then actually returns and seems engaged then toss in your 2 cents worth. There’s virtually 100’s of abandoned threads here some of them become 2 pages long. -
Dragging kik drum audio track to midi track problems

Yes that’s why I mentioned Ripple edit because if it is on crazy things like this will happen. -
Dragging kik drum audio track to midi track problems
John Vere replied to Green Needle's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I'm wondering why this would be a problem. I have converted 100's of audio tracks to midi since way back when, even using Sonar Home Studio. It's a simple process. Create a new midi track or a simple instrument track. I always first move the tracks so they are next to each other to avoid glitches. Then I just highlight the audio track and drag and drop it onto the midi track. I've never had this not work. Sometimes the results were not usable if the audio in question wasn't something simple like a bass track of single drum track. I've even converted a lot of lead guitar solos into midi to use with a synth instead. -
You seems to have set some of your default pathways to specific project folders. This is not normally done. Example I set the first pathway for Project files to the Root of my E drive. I can then choose what I wish to open from there. Most people would only have one Cakewalk project folder but I work with clients as well as I have my own categories like Original songs and Backing tracks. The E drive is only for Cakewalk and Movie studio files. The default for exports at the bottom of the list was a placeholder that would automatically put the export folder inside the project folder. You have removed it and replaced it with a very specific pathway. What I did is set this pathway to a global folder I use called Exports. Inside that folder is different categories for what I'm working on. It is an extra step during export to choose the correct location but worth it for me as I like to be organized that way. And Cakewalk often remembers the location I chose the next time I export that project. They are still fine tuning the export dialogue.

Dragging kik drum audio track to midi track problems
John Vere replied to Green Needle's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
It sounds like you are not selecting just the kick drum audio track. It seems you are selecting the whole project first or Ripple Edit is on?
