    Video Fun

Unusually I watched the video, normally I find them to distracting so do not bother. She has a nice vocal with some real power. You should have included the strike. Good tune @David Sprouse
  2. You might want to try checking this in mono as a lot goes missing in the top when I mono it on my Pro 40. Sound very down the middle other then all the top being push out to the sides.
  3. As the saying goes you can not polish a turd. Unless a track is mixed properly no amount of mastering will make it right. People make the major mistake that mastering is there to fix a bad mix. Wrong. Mastering is the process pursued to prepare the track for its final destination. Look on YouTube for mixing videos there's a plethora on there.
  4. To get optimum performance from CbB you ideally need an audio interface designed to be used by a professional DAW which CbB is.
  5. I don't recommend ASIO4all try WASAPI.
  6. You are right in thinking that you can seek advice here, but many people have offered you good advice, not necessarily me, which you appear to me to be ignoring. Sorry but try not using LANDR getting some tools as I suggested in another post that are available for free. Also watch iZotopes series of videos on mastering on their site or YouTube.

The power of the petrochemical and pharma companies still persists today. Nice stuff @bjornpdx
  8. As always you takes on a path less trodden, which is always a good thing keep this experimental stuff comping Jesse it is surprisingly very inspirational.
  9. I did not listen to either but I did drop them in to Youlean they are both way to hot. As they are MP3 they should not be higher the -1.0dB and no higher the -14LUFS if you intend to send them to streaming sites as they will be crushed. If you must insist on using something like LANDR try their lowest setting. Personally I think you need to stop using a computer AI program to master your songs and realise that Mastering is not about finishing your songs at all. Mastering is about preparing your music for certain medium types, i.e. Vinyl, CD, MP3 FLAC, DVD, Blue Ray. You need to get a near perfect mix, use tools like SPAN and Youlean Pro to set levels I do believe that iZotope are currently giving away Ozone Elements 9 for free. Get that and use it. It allows for you to set a target level like 14LUFS. From there you can learn to use EQ, Compression ot Limiters to finalise your own stuff.

Life experiences often lead to the most meaningful and sometime beautiful music. Heartfelt performance which I did enjoy, thanks for sharing.

@bjornpdx This is lovely, just the right sort of thing to chill out to with something blue and hazy to ease the mind I think. ?
  14. As I said I do not consider myself anything but a Wookiee Jedi ? I checked the original wave track as I thought this is the same track s you showed the other day plus I doubt the master can add that much to the frequency range. An MP3 is going to be frequency reduced by default but a quick look again in SPAN shows that there is little below about 80hZ with a very steep roll off and equally very little above 5kHz with an equally steep roll off. The MP3 master is also showing a 3 to 5dB difference between left and right hand signal level with the left being higher. As Nigel says comparing a wave file with a "mastered by AI computer algorithm" is not comparing like for like. See the output from Youlean pro below the red line at the top tells me there is clipping with the true peak hitting +0.2 means your are hitting the endstops and over running by a small amount. On poor playback gear that would sound bad. Commercial streaming sites are going to crush it back to -14 LUFS not the -8 LUFS Ideally I always aim for a max of -1.0 dB True Peak for streaming and an integrated level of around -14 to -16dB not the -8.0 you are hitting.
  15. I don't claim to be an expert but I have had a listen which leaves me with some questions. What levels are you recording at? i.e. how are you gain staging this. Is the acoustic guitar intentionally distorted? Looking at the wave file in Soundforge Pro 15 the overall levels when the whole band kicks in looks about right for pre mastering levels. Prior to the the signal is very low. Examining the frequency spread/content of the wave using Span shows that is little below about 80hZ with a very steep roll off and equally very little above 5kHz with an equally steep roll off.

    Warp 7

@batsbrew that chord progression worked quite well for them. Warp 8 is complete, 9 is underway and 10 is forming within the furry brain then I will examine something closer to normality well normal for a furry alien.

    Warp 7

Thanks Bat's I think that is what I want to try next, I have several nice SD3 kits, Rooms of Hansa, Rock legacy, I have also indulge in EZBass fretless, I looking forward to learning how to program it. It will add something extra to my vintage synths. Cheeky on the proper song style's you want verse, pre chorus, chorus, middle 8?

@bitflipper thank you it's a real honor to be told that by your good self Dave, you are most kind.

Thank you Kevin, nice to know that is is being enjoyed.
  20. Good sign the furry paw is tapping from the start, mix works for me.
  21. From what I am hearing so far Bats it is worth pursuing.
  22. @90 dB I told a Wookiee fib, it is not a Rotel 30/30 I was just trying to be clever and remember last night as I was nowhere near the studio, I have owned it since 1992 so it is not surprising I have forgotten what it is. It is TEAC not a Rotel Doh! A-X5030 The output is actually At 8 Ω : 75 W + 75 W (20 - 20,000 Hz, 0,02% THD) At 4 Ω : 100 W + 100 W (20 - 20,000 Hz , 0,04% THD) DIN Power Output: At 8 Ω : 85 W + 85 W (1 kHz) At 4 Ω : 120 W + 120 W (1 kHz) Dynamic Power Output: At 8 Ω : 100 W + 100 W At 4 Ω : 150 W + 150 W The Events have an impedance of 4omh so all is good. Here is a link to a review https://stereonomono.blogspot.com/2018/01/teac-x5030_9.html
  23. No problem with under powering, they under specified. I run them with the amp at somewhere between 3 to 5 plenty loud enough.
