A couple of years ago I picked up a DJ Swivel plugin as part of a Stay Creative Bundle from Plug-in Boutique. (You know, the kind of thing where they put together an assortment of low-cost odds 'n' ends.) So today I received an e-mail related to the D J Swivel / PA thing. Not endorsing nor poo-pooing either of them. Just wanted to pass this on in case others also have DJ Swivel stuff. So check your e-mail as sometimes stuff like this goes into a Spam, Trash, or other such bin. UPDATE: The e-mail has some steps to follow (basically logging into your DJ Swivel Account to get some information), but those steps didn't work for me--perhaps their server is overwhelmed ATM or being changed. Who knows? But, since I have my serial number, all I needed to do is (1) copy that and (2) put it into the PA site where it says to use the serial number as a Voucher. From there it was a $0.00 purchase following the usual steps, Hope this helps if you can't get into the DJ Swivel server.7 points

Several weeks ago my C Drive had to be emptied and re-formatted as a boot drive, and while I had no intention of reinstalling gazillions of IK Software and Sounds, last night I started to install a number of my prior IK purchases. So, because I previously purchased licenses (and with great thanks to IK for removing the 180 day download restriction!!!!!), I can verify that I was able to re-install SampleTron 2 (software and sounds). And, yes, I just had to play the opening notes to Strawberry Fields. 🙂 Syntronik 2 also works--though I still need to make room for all the Sound Content as well as make time. MixBox (which I installed a couple of weeks ago) reinstalled and also works as far as I tested (just some basic operations). As expected, all the non-discontinued IK products that I have re-installed so far also work.7 points

It was a regression caused by another bug fix for a more severe start up problem. For now if you see this issue, you can circumvent it by closing the start screen once after the app opens, then after that you can reopen it and the project should open without any issues.7 points

I'll definitely pick something up, and I was looking for newer libraries as well. Though I'm an IT guy by trade, I don't do AI, ChatGPT, Co-Pilot, etc. that much. I've always been a huge fan of Alice and those records with the band under Ezrin were truly special. My expectations aren't exactly sky high for this new one but it will be nice to hear them playing together again. Sad that Buxton isn't there to be a part of it. I did check out the first excerpt when it came out and I thought it wasn't bad. I love solo Alice too, although I've not really listened to much after The Last Temptation in 1994. I think the only album I never really got was Special Forces. But the rest, even the weird ones like DaDa, I can dig. In early December 1989, there was a giveaway on tv to promote Alice's Trash tour. I called, hoping I could win the cassette. Well, I did win the cassette alright - along with a t-shirt and a pair of tickets for the show in Montreal in January - almost 300 miles away. For a small-town kid like myself, without a license, and who'd never been anywhere, that was kind of problematic. The show might as well have been on Mars. But a friend who was a bit older, worked a blue collar job and had a little money thought this was an opportunity we could not missed so he offered to pay for the bus tickets and a hotel room for the day. That's me under the massive hairdo at 6 am the day of the show, shortly after we arrived. First time in the big city. We'd spent the night drinking Jack Daniel's in the back of the bus... Second photo is a bad shot of the show, obviously.7 points

Easy pass for me on this one. It doesn't really add enough to make it worthwhile from a cost perspective, but even more so, there's no backwards compatibility maintained so you need to keep every version installed on your computer to open old projects. It's easy just sticking with what you have and skipping multiple years, or forever! No additional redundancy and clutter in the plugins list and plugin scans. Unless there's a pricing glitch somewhere, my money is safe on this one.6 points

Sonar 2025.08 Update 2 build 31.08.0.033 has been released. This is an exciting release that coincides with the release of our Cakewalk Core Plugins, a powerful suite of nine essential track effects. You can read more about the plugins and download them if you have BandLab membership. This update has deep integration with these plugins and several performance optimizations that you can read about in the links above. To post feedback on the Core Plugins use this thread.6 points

If you received the Cube MINI freebie, or if you bought Cube MINI, then you can upgrade to Pro for $39 in your account. I put it in my cart and left it there, as I was still debating on whether or not to upgrade. Today I got another coupon for 10% off. When I added it to the cart it took the full $8.90 off (10% of the $89 full upgrade price) and that made the price $30.10. I had to upgrade....why I don't know...but I did LOL Make sure you are logged in and I don't know how much longer the sale is... https://lunacy.audio/products/cube6 points

The Cakewalk Core plugins will work in any host including CbB as long as you have an active BandLab membership and sign in to activate via the plugins. However, while Sonar can seamlessly migrate the Cakewalk Core Plugins suite from the old legacy Sonitus plugins at project load time the automatic migration will not work in prior Cakewalk hosts or other hosts. In CbB or SONAR Platinum you must disable the VST Migration settings before loading old projects containing Sonitus plugins, since it may lead to errors on loading these projects otherwise and cause plugin settings to be lost. To disable automatic migration turn off "Replace if possible on Project Load".5 points

We're pleased to introduce early access of the Cakewalk Core plugins, a powerful suite of nine essential track effects designed for high quality and low CPU consumption. Post feedback on these plugins here. This Core suite is compatible with both Next and Sonar and includes the following plugins: Please note that the Cakewalk Core Plugins are only available to users with active BandLab Membership. Core Compressor – a variable-knee compressor with peak limiting for controlling audio dynamics Core Delay – a stereo delay with tempo synchronization and reverb-like features like crossfeed and diffusion Core EQ – a six-band parametric equalizer offering various filter types and manipulation for precise frequency shaping Core Gate – a dynamic gate with side-chain filtering, lookahead, and punch mode to eliminate unwanted noise and enhance transients Core Modulator – combines six time-varying modulation effects like Flanger, Ensemble, and Phaser into one versatile plugin Core Multiband –a 5-band variable-knee compressor with normal and vintage modes, an output limiter, and Transient Controlled Release for smooth compression Core Phase – a phase shifter that applies a constant phase shift for widening the stereo image Core Reverb – a high-quality reverb plugin that emulates sound reflections in a virtual room Core AutoFilter – a versatile filter, dynamically sweeping a resonant bandpass filter based on manual input, tempo synchronization, or an adjustable envelope follower Availability The Core suite (VST3 macOS/Windows) is currently available as add-ons, which you can access from the Updates page of the Start Screen, or via Cakewalk Product Center. These plugins are exclusive to BandLab Membership and can be activated within Next and Sonar, or self-authenticate for use in other DAWs. As this is an early access release, we're eager for your feedback. We have plans for continued development and adding more plugins to the suite, so stay tuned for updates! Important Prerequisite - If you are using Sonar the installer for these plugins require Sonar 2025.08 build 31.08.0.031 or higher. It will not install with earlier builds of Sonar since they do not have full integration capabilities for them. Installed Locations VST3 plugins will be installed in the directory: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\Cakewalk\Core\ macOS VST3 Core plugin directory: /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/Cakewalk/Core/ Following installation, it may be necessary to rescan plugin directories. Automatic Migration from Sonitus plugins in Sonar The Cakewalk Core suite can automatically migrate all legacy Sonitus plugin when you load your projects. You can enable this in Preferences > VST Settings > VST3 Migration and check "Replace if Possible on Project Load" A toast notification will be displayed after loading projects, to show which plugins were replaced with newer compatible VST3 versions. Clicking the Show button in the notification will show the details for the replaced plugins. Important Notes: Sonar will seamlessly migrate the Cakewalk Core Plugins suite from the old legacy Sonitus plugins at project load time. All settings and automation will be transferred automatically. This migration is one-way, meaning you cannot revert from Core plugins back to Sonitus. Although migration is fully compatible with the old DX plugins, it's highly recommended that you save a backup copy of your project files prior to migrating to the new Core plugins. The automatic migration will not work in prior Cakewalk hosts or other hosts. In CbB or SONAR Platinum you must disable the VST Migration settings before loading old projects containing Sonitus plugins, since it may lead to errors on loading these projects otherwise. Activation Cakewalk Core Plugins require an active BandLab Membership in order to activate successfully. When using the Core Plugins in Cakewalk Sonar or Next, plugin activation is seamlessly performed via single sign on host authentication. i.e. no extra steps are required other than signing in to your BandLab account from within the DAW. If you are using another DAW, you will need to sign-in to your BandLab account from within the plugin editor UI to authenticate the plugin. These plugins support Single-Sign-On (SSO) authorization, i.e signing in to one of the plugins that are part of the suite will automatically activate the other plugins in the suite. Unactivated plugins will load but will stream silence until you have signed in to your BandLab account from within the DAW or from the plugin itself. The plugins can be used offline once they are activated successfully. As long as you stay signed in to the DAW or plugin, the normal periodic reactivation will be automatically performed in the background. Offline activation is currently not available for the Core Plugins. i.e. You will need to be online for a short period to allow the plugins to activate initially. Once activated the plugins will stay activated for the normal activation lease period. Offline activation capabilities may be added in a future update. Activation banner When running in a non-Cakewalk host a sign-in banner will allow you to sign in and activate the plugin. This workflow is the same as how it works in Cakewalk DAW's When not activated a sign-in banner will be displayed inside the plugin UI and the plugin will stream silence Clicking the banner toggles between expanded and collapsed sizes5 points

I also bought the SYSTEM-8 last week from Plugin Boutique, but I have contacted Roland Cloud support and asked them if there is any possibility to swap/replace the currently owned SYSTEM-8 license with a license for XV-5080, which I don't own and has the same price as SYSTEM-8. Something conceptually similar to what I understand it is possible to do for the Keys obtained via Play 4 Life promotion, while the subscription is active. At first they misunderstood my request and thought I wanted a refund so they told me to take it with Plugin Boutique instead, but after clarification they were really kind and removed the current SYSTEM-8 license from my account and added the XV-5080 instead. This way at least I avoid duplication.5 points
