Program won't open..

Question

While using the asio4all program, I tried to touch the setting and changed the driver mode from asio to another in the playback and recording item, so the program keeps turning off and does not run afterwards.

I tried rebooting my computer or reinstalling cakewalk, but it didn't help me at all.

Is there a solution?

What audio interface are you using?

If you are using on board sound with ASIO4ALL, please do yourself a favour and get an audio interface that comes with native ASIO drivers.

BTW rename your AUD.INI file rather than delete it.

This file is found in the following folder:

%appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core

Uninstall ASIO4all. You don’t need it. Windows comes with a proper native driver now since W10. WASAPI.
Asio4all was from a bygone era. It is not ASIO  anyway. It is a wrapper using old WDM mode all of which is old tech.

You will be able to run Cakewalk after you delete aud.ini

Sorry for being silly, How do I set wasapi mode when I can't run cakewalk?

Again, you will be able to run Cakewalk after you delete or rename the file: aud.ini
