Track switching from midi keyboard

Hello!

I am trying to set a cakewalk project where I can switch live the banks to change synth sounds on my keyboard midi controller without having to open the VST.

So the solution as I think it is to use multiple tracks, with the instrument ready that I want to play on each track independently.

Switching will be via the pad controllers on my midi keyboard, then just clicking the pad would change the active track on cakewalk, and playing on the keyboard would change the sound effectively.

Problem is: How I can link track switching by midi input on Cakewalk?

This is the job of a control surface in cakewalk.  You could try to setup a generic control surface and then map the notes that your pad's send out to move the selected track.  I don't know the details of this but maybe the documentation would give you some clues.

I am about to receive an arturia midi keyboard today, so I am just preparing the ground properly. I guess via the arturia MCC I can assign channels to switch directly on the DAW, cakewalk in this case.
