how do i use my drum sampler - sitala

i downloaded a drum sampler so i could insert some drum packs i found. problem is, that i cannot open sitala and use it in cakewalk. it just shows up as an independent file thta wont work with cakewalk. how do i fix this?

If you didn't change anything when installing, the VST is in C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins. You must tell Cakewalk to scan that folder.

Edit -> Preferences.

Down the left column File -> VST Settings. 

In the right-hand-pane, VST Scan Paths must include that path in the list. If it isn't there you need to click Add, and navigate to that folder and add it.

If it was there or if you have added it, in the next section, Scan Options, click on Scan. Cakewalk should then find it.

I uninstelled it and reinstalled several times following those steps, it never showed up in cakewalk

So it turns out that installing the actual plug-in to a plug-in folder (or "paste") that Cakewalk scans for plug-ins resolves the issue?

It's a miracle!
