Can't select my audio interface - greyed out...

Duncan Clee

Question

Hi, I'm new to Bandlab and Cakewalk and neither seem to like my Focusrite Clarett 4Pre interface!  In Cakewalk, it's in the list but the outputs are greyed out.  Only ASIO4ALL is available but even though it can see the FR and I have it selected I can't even get the playback cursor to move, let alone detect an input, even though they are in theory detected (see screenshot).

In Bandlab itself I remember the FR being in the drop-down list of drivers but it wouldn't select it.

The FR is working fine in Cubase...

To switch ASIO drivers

  • Deselect all inputs and outputs in Audio preferences
  • Then select the I/O driver to use

ASIO permits only one driver to be used at a time

It might be a good idea to uninstall ASIO4All if possible. It has been know to cause problems when a factory driver is installed.

There should be only one ASIO driver per-device installed on the PC. Having ASIO4All installed makes it appear there are multiple ASIO drivers for all devices that have a manufacturer supplied ASIO driver.
