If this already exists, please point me to where and how to enable it. Meanwhile, maybe a compressor or limiter would help me get my audio levels within a track better aligned. But my music frequently goes from quieter passages to louder ones and my current m.o. is to record a lot of takes within a track, then frequently, manually adjust gain (and pan) on individual clips or on the track itself . So it would be a useful, workflow enhancement to have an automation setting option, that a user could make a default, which displays a dB grid and pan grid within each of these scenarios: a take lane, for the whole track and on a selected clip. Then a user could click on a grid line and the level would snap to it vs. require the zooming in and out to see levels/settings selected or available, along with the up-and-down cursoring to try and find the desired level to try/apply.

Does anybody know how to see grid lines in the Clip Pane? I always struggle when placing clips down so knowing how to enable the grid lines would be great.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong now. It's taking me HOURS to do simple edits. 1. I realized that when I zoom in to maximum level, the beginnings of my clips are not snapping precisely to the grid. I have my snap setting to almost max extreme. 2. For some reason, I can't get the end of the clip to snap to the grid. It either passes it and crossfades into the next clip or it doesn't reach the grid. It's only a tiny amount probably not audible and I can just turn off snap and get it there manually but why is it doing this?

when I enter a series of eight-note pairs, the last of the pair does not align to the proper timing. I use the setting 0f 960 ticks per quarter note. The first beat of the song (entered by mouse) is 1:01:000. the next eighth note should land on 1:01:480. The notation shows the proper placement of this eighth note but it SOUNDS at 1:01:360. This is constant. I am forced to enter the note and then click on it to re set it to 1:01:480. This constant misplacement is present at what should be 1:01:480, 1:02:480 , 1:03:480 and 1:04:480.

Can I make the grid visible in Cakewalk ? I mean see the grid as it is set in quantization setup (1bar,1/4,1/8,1/16, triplets and so on ). I just can`t see the grid lines in the arangement and iven in piano roll. Thank you.
