  1. DX was free recently. I dl'd it but wasn't impressed enough to keep it but that's me. Not when I've got stuff by Synth Magic that eclipses it big time. What's it like $30 now?
  2. That one seems cool too and I'll remember it, thanks for the tip. I like those more soulful timbres of those black girls on HBS
  3. Most of the posts on that VI thread are about the word builder, but I'm really more interested in the backup singer style oohs and ahhs. Some also complained that the pitch was a little flat, but you know I'm not sure that's an issue for me anyway as I play a grimy blues doom ***** rock that would probably benefit from vibey slightly flat bg vocals. Too bad there's no male bg voacls6on there though
  4. Me I'm shopping for a backup singers vst library. There's actually hardly any out there. Not a choir library, but backup singers like in a blues band. I've found just two worth mentioning; Vintage Vocals by Big Fish Audio which is a few years old I think, and EastWest Hollywood Backup Singers which was released this year. Checking them both out on Tube it's clear that VV--a kontakt instrument--is severely limited compared to HBS which is its own vst and has much more control and features. VV is $150 on sale http://www3.bigfishaudio.com/email_images/vintagevocalsrelease18/bigfishaudiovintagevocalsvintagebundlerelease30618.html and HBS is $134.98 w/ Spring2020 code here https://www.audiodeluxe.com/products/virtual-instruments/eastwest-hollywood-backup-singers Normally HBS is $399 I guess but folks is poor right now though maybe that's still an intro price idk. I'll probably get that as it's newer, sounds good near as I can tell and you can always grime them up w/ saturation etc plus it has a word builder. What are you guys shopping for or are you just biting on whatever King Lar posts like I be doing?
  5. Eventually I will need more than one headphone output but for now just one will do. I just remember someone someplace saying that the headphone amp in the UCX wasn't that great and so I was just looking to maybe shop for a headphone amp while I shop for a UCX. I suppose I can just test the UCX amp first. Right now I'm monitoring off a Mackie 1402vlz3 headphone output but I'll be shedding that Mackie once I get the ucx and arc usb. I don't have much to compare to quality-wise re headphone amp sound quality for mixing and recording.
  6. Thanks man I think it's just one of those corrupt things that occur in the session randomly for no reason as there's only two events.
  7. I use Beyerdynamic DT 770 and DT 880 both 250 ohm. I'm getting an RME UCX interface as soon as I can find a good deal on one, but it's only got one headphone input and I'm thinking a proper headphone amp may have a better and cleaner sound for true headphone monitoring and mixing anyway. Anyone recommend a good headphone amp for this?
  8. Hmm, so what I'm seeing is that on just this one audio clip when I'm mousing around on just a portion (maybe 8 bars) of the clip this mouse lag shows up for the whole project, but when I'm mousing around further down the same exact clip the lag goes away. There's no plugins on the clip itself so no clue why just one little portion of the clip is causing mouse lag for the whole rest of the project. The heck's that all about? Why me? Why I always got this weird stuff happening to my stuff all the time lol
  9. So I've got this Logitech G602 wireless mouse and today in just one of my projects I'm finding that all the functions you'd perform w/ the mouse now have some pretty bad lag/latency. This project didn't have this problem yesterday, and no other projects are having this problem - just this one. This mouse is behaving 100% fine outside of Cakewalk and even in other Cakewalk projects except for this one particular project. In this one project everything from resizing windows and tracks to zooming in/out of audio clips now have some very annoying lag. When I zoom in/out of a waveform w/ the mouse wheel really quickly, after I let go of the scroll wheel the audio clip will still be zooming in/out or a little bit like it's catching up instead of stopping the zoom as soon as I stop scrolling/zooming. Anyone know what's going on and how I can fix it? Again, mouse works fine outside of Cakewalk and even in other Cakewalk projects. Just this one Cakewalk project suddenly has this mouse lag now where it didn't have this problem yesterday.
  10. So the older he gets the more expensive his s#!t gets?
  11. I'd maybe subscribe for a $1 a month. Let me know when it's a $1 a month.
  12. This is a solid course and Graham is a solid guy all around. Don't worry about him charging you where you don't want to be charged. He'll even give you your money back if you bought the course and didn't like it. He's also a Christian and that may or may not mean anything to someone but it this case it means he won't do you wrong if there was any concern there. I bought the Rethink Mixing course a few years ago at 50% off and can recommend it.
  13. Dimash seems pretty legit and that was a cool rendition actually. I like Vitas and all, but he does this thing where he tries to prove that he's not lip syncing by moving the mic a short distance away from his mouth real quick and each time he moves the mic away even a tiny distance his singing cuts out. That's some bulls#!t. He's got a lot of his listeners fooled who don't have a clue how this works, but any of us here would know--and even a lot of non-musical people would know--that when you're singing loudly and you move a microphone a few inches away from your mouth the sound doesn't just mute out like that lol. If anything the sound may dim a little bit but not cut out completely. Anyway I'm still a fan. This studio recorded song of Vitas is cool and my favorite of his called "The Star" And then here he is singing "The Star" live where the "live" aspect seems to be legit but with a little less than stellar results but, you know, rock and roll .. And even this may be lip synced lol
  14. Comment section is a comedy goldmine.
  15. So I guess after an update there's this thing now where now when I use the split tool (the scissors), when it's placed directly over the wav graphic an icon that looks like three lines shows up on the split tool where it used to just be a vertical line that helped line things up to split a clip. Now there's these three lines that show up over the split tool and it obstructs the clip where I'm trying to split it. Any way I can get rid of that three line icon thingy? Why is it even there now?
  16. too stoned to use those plugs
  17. I am sick to death however of that particular same old same old clean guitar tone. Doesn't anyone use a small clone anymore?
  18. You don't like that? I thought it was dope actually, thanks for turning me on to it
  19. Yeah but can Dimash do this at the 0:35 mark? And can Dimash do that wrist dance???
  20. FYI the $29 intro price for the Cali Reverb runs till the end of April (I emailed).
  21. Oh, and here's Vitas drunk and getting arrested
  22. Not bad, but what's he got on Vitas?
  23. I'm gonna wait till his next 80% off sale so I can save $1.60 off this intro price
  24. What were you hoping for? Personally I don't poke high gain amps that much. I prefer to get a good gain amp like the MRH810 and high gain it myself w/ a pedal out front. And I really don't like Mesa which I assume this is supposed to be
