  1. This is a really great tribute John. I don't know how you managed to wordsmith all of those lyrics in there and get them to make perfect sense but --- well done. Kudos also on the video. Excellent job!
  2. This song has good crossover country-western style to it. The melody is infectious and the performance great. Also, the mix sounds good to me. Nice one!!
  3. I was cleaning up some old Cakewalk files on my external hard drives and came across this little number that I did a few years ago. It is a little, fun soft-rocker. The mix was rough , so I tried to clean it up. Hopefully, it is a little bit more presentable. As always, any comments and suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks. 4. I believe that I remember this song also. IMHO this song has a perfect commercial feel to it. The melody is infectious and the lyrics are great. Great number!!! BTW congratulations on reaching 50. I only wish I could go back and celebrate 50 --- again.
  5. Another terrific song Daryl -- great composition, lyrics, performance and spot on mix. How do you do it???

    frog guiro project

Love the bossa nova sound and the video was very creative and an absolute hoot.
  7. Very powerful sound to this number and some great guitar playing.

    "The Arrival"

Very good production that really builds and indeed has a good cinematic quality. You have also done a great job on the mix.
  9. Cool sounds here Jeese. Sounds like a lot of angst in this one. You have some interesting bass lines/chording in this one. Keep posting more.

    Orkney

I believe that I recall this song when you posted it on the old Cakewalk Forum. It was just a pretty then as it now. But --- can you ever have too much reverb??? I know --- how dare I say that with my penchant for the overuse of 'verb on vocals. Nice one Bjorn!!
  11. What a very sincere and pretty song! I love it when that keyboard (?) comes in. Actually, I think that you have done a right nice job on the vocals. It is delivered in a very honest style and brings out an image (at least to me) of a guy all by himself declaring his feelings for a special one in front of the whole darn world. Nicely done mate!!!
  12. Ya, I echo the kudos above. The great guitar playing. This has a big and rich cinematic sound and does indeed beg for a video. Great work!
  13. The mix sounded fine to me -- I am assuming that you must have re-worked it. I love the sound of this song. Everything about the instrumentation further develops and complements the lyrics. Song flows and has a great chorus (hook) that I believe would make this very commercial. Perhaps the thing that I like best about this number is that it is not overstated in its presentation. The entire song draws one in with out flashy lead breaks, screeching and screaming, and vocal notes are not held for 20 minutes at top volume. BTW the background vocals really add to the song. The only suggestion that I would have is in agreement with some of the suggestions above --- perhaps a lead over the repeat of the intro chords might help. Anyway, very nice work!!

    Metamorphosis

This is a bit different and experimental approach from you my furry friend. Metamorphosis indeed --- from a rather melancholy caterpillar beginning to the rather joyous flight of sounds of a butterfly. As usual your ability to use various sound to express emotions kept my attention for all 8+ minutes. Nice one!!
