    Stratos 1977

Hi Bjorn. This does have backing track for a cinema or TV video. I agree with Nigel above -- it sounds good just as it is. This number definitely sets a mood early on and maintains it throughout. Really good stuff pal.
  2. Hey Nigel! Another perfect song, video, performance, and production. Certainly it maintains your high standards and quality. Yes, your sound has changed a bit and this song seems to have a strong commercial pop appeal. Best of luck on the new album and new website!!
  3. HiYa pal! You really are on a roll with what you have been posting. It has been hard for me to keep up but when I do it is always a treat. So -- I just listened to 3 of your more recent song and loved them all. Keep 'em coming!
  4. What a wonderful song!! The lyrics sound very personal and the music is perfect for the lyrics. I love your use of delay/echo on the vocals and also love the harmonic guitars toward the end. This was great --- please do some more with vocals.
  5. Hi Marcus. Thank you very much Mark. They said it wouldn't last but boy did Alice an I show them!! Really glad that you and Warren are back on the forum, and I'm really enjoying your postings.
  6. Hey Bjorn. Thanks for your very kind comments. Ya, this one was stripped down, bare and minimalist! The point was the lyrics and I didn't want to crowd them out. Thanks again. Hi Mark. Thanks for listening and your suggestion. I do abuse verb but I am always pleased to use it. I am going to take a look at this song again and see how I might use verb without abusing It. Much appreciated! Hello Nigel. Thanks very much for the kind comments. They are very much appreciated. Thanks also for the congrat's. As I get older it seems the anniversaries are coming more frequently. Hi Lynn. It is great to see you back on the forum. I really enjoyed your recent post. Thanks for your comments and the congrat's. Hi John B. "A ballad from Freddy" --- I guess that there is a first time for everything. If only I could do "just about anything(lol). Thanks for the kind words and the congrat's.
  7. A very impressive production indeed! Well put together, entertaining, creative, and technically/musically impressive. Very cool!
  8. I always enjoy your stuff Jesse. Thank you!
  9. This song has your signature all over it and that is a very good thing. The mix sounds good to my tired old ears --- Well Done!
  10. Nice one Anthony ! There is something to be said for spontaneity and sincerity! I too suffer from a lack of technical knowledge in mixing, etc. and can relate. This song tells a great story and your presentation delivered it very well.
  11. Welcome to the forum! I was not expecting that but I couldn't help be impressed with the sounds that you created with a guitar. Very cool. I look forward to your future posts!
  12. Excellent -- laid back, no urgency, mellow and some great playing. Love the sound of that lead guitar. Sometimes it is nice to hear just the guitar without massive amounts of Fx. Well done!
  13. Great to see you back on the forum Lynn. What a return -- Great song ! Complex, creative and very entertaining. I enjoyed the lyrics also. I hope that you family is doing well as are you. I'm afraid that this CoVid thing is going to be around for some time. I look forward to more of your creations!
  14. Hi Dream Art Scientists. Thanks very much for listening and for your comments. I was going for a kind of light slightly jazz like sound. I' m glad that it came through. Thanks again! Hi Hidden Symmetry. I'm very glad that you enjoyed it. Thank you for listening, commenting, and for the anniversary congratulations --- much appreciated!! Hey tom. Thanks very much -- it came from the heart. Did you say "... up the verb on the guitars..." --- you know about my addiction to reverb. I can't ever get enough. Seriously, thanks for the suggestion. I always appreciate you comments. Also, an early congratulations on your upcoming anniversary. Not many make it to the 49 year mark. That is quite an accomplishment. Alice and I must have gotten married ~a couple of years before you. Hello Old Joad. Thanks for listening and the kind words. BTW, I enjoyed your recent Blues post!
  15. Unfortunately, for me, I lost all my knowledge of speaking Spanish when my parents moved back to Canada. Fortunately, that did not stop me from enjoying this song. Your vocals and harmonies are very good! I also can appreciate the guitar work. This song was very well done and a listening pleasure.

    Lost And Found

Very interesting song! Love the Fx on a very good vocal. Luv the changes. Great work!!
  17. I have to echo the comments given above. This really is quite excellent!! I always enjoy the guitar work on your songs. Also enjoyed the visual -- the reels are sych'ed so that the take up reel runs at a faster rate that the feeding reel. The attention to detail in all of your stuff is what makes it so doggone good!!

    City Song

No doubt about it! The Pugtones know how to rock! Love that change that comes in about the 1:48 mark! Keep them coming lads!!
  19. Hi Dream Art Scientists. Thank you very much. I consciously try, on most songs (especially Blues, Bluesabilly and old style R & R), to inject a bit of that live performance quality.
  20. Luv the little BGV's that come through on occassion. Most cool indeed!
  21. A couple of months ago my wife and I celebrated a rather significant marriage anniversary. I wrote this song for her in celebration and appreciation of our life together. It is very stripped down and minimalist. Only two guitars with an occasional third for a few accents. Only one vocal with the occasional harmony. Oh ya, it is not Blues or bluesabilly. As this style is a bit different for me, any comments, suggestions, crit.'s would be very much appreciated. Thanks!! A SONG FOR ALICE https://www.soundclick.com/artist/default.cfm?bandid=963481
  22. Thanks very much Steve. I enjoyed your last couple of posts!

    Insomnia

Very well done all the way around! The performance, arrangement, mix, video all worked in creating a very pensive (?) mood! I liked the little hidden enhancements like the video change when the vocalist sang about her heart beat -- cool!
  24. Very well done and professional performance and mix. Also - some very good guitar work.
  25. Excellent piece of work! I too liked the bass work (the drone throughout was perfect). Good guitar work and the music certainly complemented the video. BTW, cool ending both visually and musically.
