  1. Submit a ticket to NI Support and request that they send you a link to direct download the ISO. You could also search the NI forum, as a lot of K13/14 installers have been posted for folks who have slow/underperforming ISP's. Personally, I completely gave up on NI about a year ago. Their development direction sux.
  2. Since the release of 2022.06 there has been an option to use local help in conjunction/addition to the standard <Help><Documentation> menu item in the program. Local help is a preference function here: The only reason to really go to the legacy help system is if you need to compare/contrast some ancient function with what is current in the latest/last version of the program. The online help accessed from inside CbB <Help><Documentation> is actually as up to date as possible. There is also the PDF manual available (which is about 99% up to date) here: Personally I prefer to use CTRL-F to search the PDF, seems it's faster to get to the items that I want. YMMV
  3. This is true. However; over the past few years, when I installed a program update, I would occasionally incur an anomaly that changed some minor function in my application preferences that was difficult to find, troubleshoot and remedy even with nearly 3 decades of using the software. It was well documented on my end, but not reproducible elsewhere. I started to save screenshots of all the pages of my preferences for comparison, since there is no direct way to backup just the prefs. I sorta just blame the Sun for bombarding my hard drive with excess nutrinos at the exact moment of writing the update data. That's my Occam's Razor justification, and I'm stickin' with it. 😁
  4. This link works for me in 3 browsers on 2 different machines using the same logon as this forum: https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
  5. Here's what I get when I click on "Submit a Request": Maybe you should flush the cache from your browser.
  6. I have a ton of Track templates built, from a VSTi bass with FX applied. to full String Sections and Busses, along with my favorite drum kits all broken out into separate outputs, all available to insert with a couple of clicks. Once you get the hang of assembling a project this way, you'll rarely go back.
  7. I will first admit that, although I'm a channel subscriber, I'm not the worlds biggest fan of Rick Beato... I think that his 'abundance' of confidence of his abilities and opinions has a tendency to rub me the wrong way sometimes... but that is not to take away from his knowledge and intellect. That said, I found this interview with Andy Summers (The Police) to be really casual and funny. Kinda like having your grandpa sit on the porch in a rocking chair telling war stories.
  8. At the risk of being too 'highbrow', I'd like to put in a plug for an excellent podcast on this subject. I listen to this on long drives, in the hot tub, or doing yardwork, and have found it to be absolutely fascinating for anyone that desires to know where the genre comes from. Andrew Hickey covers all the bases. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/a-history-of-rock-music-in-500-songs/id1437402802
  9. But wait... isn't the bass your virtuoso instrument of choice? 🤔
  10. Years ago I bought his "Humbucker", which had a reasonable sound but marginal use in detailed work. Then I discovered Indiginus and Impact Soundworks, and I've never looked back. Andrea is a great guy to talk to though!
  11. Chopping dialog with Remove Silence is very difficult. The split options are to keep left/right/both/none, so I'm not sure what "the middle" would be...🤔
  12. On the studio version (Village Recorders, LA), with Beckers rhythm guitar part in the left channel, they gated that thing so hard that you can hear it pumping. Scuttlebutt was that Jeff Katz had the engineer daisychain two Kepexes on it. (can't prove it tho) 😝
  13. You can choose to keep the left or right in <Preferences><Customization><Editing (Advanced)> Clips
  14. It's a vibraphone (many times underappreciated).[I'm a big Lionel Hampton fan!] And the progression is based on a Django Reinhardt swing shuffle standard from the 1930's.
  15. There's no harmonica on this... that's a muted coronet.
  16. Well, yeah... they are far more accu-perfect than most horn sections, always available when you need 'em, and don't get nearly as drunk after the gig.
  17. https://youtu.be/lOAsHFUs3ko?si=Mwqb6odUbYh0O9YS https://youtu.be/bN0PVfVCRy8?si=zr3zXb9z37iZ1N6v https://youtu.be/dWpYsqXb1LI?si=t30gv_n4TcfI_kTF ...amongst others out there. I modified & layered some stuff up in this track:
  18. Not that I have ever discovered. Any track that inhabits approximately less than half of the Track View will be on a collapsing scale of 0-127, any size more than half of Track View will be showing a keyboard. To my knowledge there is no way to set a 'fit content' default for either that section of a track in TV, or in the PRV, other than playing with Track Templates in conjunction with Workspaces.
  19. IMO: Cost/Benefit ratio is just slightly better than Spitfire & VSL, much better than E/W (altho the latter are impeccable string libraries). And nobody that I've found can even come close to touching the "Swing!" big band libraries.
  20. Does it show if search indexing or virus scan is running in BG? You have a ton of processes in TM. Anything you can dump? My list is ⅓ of that.
  21. I have a link to the PDF in my Win Menu. CTRL-F allows me to chase down any thing I need in less than 10 seconds.
  22. Found just below the left end of the time display [audio & midi].
  23. Have you tried running the Web Installer in ADMIN mode?
