That's cheapest I can find it so far.
Xils Labs have it for 89 EUR
Some of those demos do sound gorgeous (e.g. Through The Flames To The Ocean (Adam Borseti)) but I have Cherry Polymode which is probably good enough for me.

The ones I love most are Polychrome, Tremor, Suspension, and Animus.
Thanks for the recommendations Fleer. I really love Phase Plant but some of the more EDM focussed banks are really not my cup of tea.
I own Tremor and the Grattis 2021 freebie, but I was tempted by Animus, Suspension or maybe the Andrew Huang one (enjoy his YouTube channel).

Congrats! That was fun, right?
I hope I learned a bit more about patching a modular synth from scratch. I usually tend to open up one of the many VM presets and experiment with them, but it would be useful to know how to intuitively build a modular sound from <blank>. 🙃
Yup, it was actually quite fun. I'm like you - tweak existing presets rather than start from scratch. I must do more. 💡

Good idea 👍🏻

The instructions are pretty clear. Took me about 15 minutes to patch that up. Saved as a User preset for future use.
If you don't already have Voltage installed, plan on another 15 mins. YMMV!
Good luck! For extra credit, try patching it without looking at the pics in the article, LOL!
Done! Yes the instructions were pretty clear. I used the pictures to check that my cables looked the same at the end (different colours though).
Also, I had a stuck note after connecting the amp output which cleared after reloading the patch (there is also a free MIDI panic module).
Only another 39 to go 😵

I missed that one! Thanks for sharing. Now I know what I'll be doing on Sunday 👍

I downloaded the Synthesizer V Studio free version and voices, but I can only get it to work as a standalone.
The pro version definitely does work as a VST, but I can't make this work. But does anybody have SV Studio working as a VST?
If so, where is the .dll?
Thanks!
The free version is standalone only Reid. The Pro version includes a plugin version as well as standalone.
Here's a more up-to-date comparison of Pro vs Basic...

Does anyone know the system/disk space requirements for Synthesizer V and the voice banks?
Voicebanks are quite small. For example, Eleanor AI voicebank is around 26Mb.
As for the synth itself, SV Basic/Pro specs says it requires 1Gb for one voicebank but it's 44Mb on my system.
You can download the demos from the link above to get an idea.

Apparently it’s a 2 day flash sale until 6th Feb so don’t fret if you want it.
Now I wish XO will be 80% off next.
Ya got me Fleer! Done up like a kipper.

Using Wotja as a MIDI generator, ambient sound banks should come in handy!
That's exactly what I had in mind 😄. Although I am exploring all of the great Kontakt libraries at the moment with Wotja driving it. Something that sounds universally great is a Wotja ambient preset pointing at Amadeus Symphony patch!

Basic version is free🐱
Yes, you can get the SV Basic free version and Lite voicebanks from here (scroll to bottom of the page) ---> https://dreamtonics.com/en/synthesizerv/

Thanks Larry!
I've been waiting for a sale to grab SV Pro and I'll probably go with either Ryo or Kevin so that I have a solid male voicebank to accompany Solaria (from https://www.eclipsedsounds.com/ ).
Here's a demo of Kevin...
and Ryo (he can also sing in English)
...and Qing Su, a native Chinese female AI voice singing in English.

Oh no! I've just spotted there's a trial version - be a shame not to, eh?

@ZincT Agree with you. I just flagged you with a smilie ... as they say over here a bit of "divilment" ( said with Irish accent )
I did get the MYST deal though for < €9 .. I have some of them in boxsets/sleeves unused ( Sheldon moment ) .. I dont generally play games anymore for a long time, found i was spending too much time at them, but wouldnt mind dipping into MYST now and then, really liked that "universe"
I figured you had the "divil" in you in your post, although I am tempted by that EDM Country content 🤣 (not)
I saw that MYST post as well and it brings back memories of spending A LOT of time on that one.
Unfortunately, I have zero time for games these days and have a lot that I haven't even installed.
Actually, that's not quite true - I've been teaching my daughter chess on a real chessboard!- 1

I've thought about this as an option too, but of course your existing projects won't open up with them, so you would lose all your settings. Unless you started saving a preset for every instance of RC-20 🙃
Apart from that not a bad option.
Yeah, it's not ideal but I think of it as a workaround if worse comes to worse.
Even at this price I'm wondering if I really need it as I have Vybz which does similar things.
-
You would also still be able to run VST2s in a VST3 wrapper app, something like Kushview Element, DDMF Metaplugin or PG Unify (assuming that they carried on supporting VST2).

Good spot! Never seen it this cheap.

I got the Genesis, Toto and Vangelis 1 banks. I like them. I like the Genesis the most for personal reasons. I am a big prog rock geek.
Great stuff and some of my favourites. I'm making an abacab cover ( of the song not the legend ) using the Genesis bank.
9 hours ago, telecode 101 said:Of the other ones I have, I really like XTGrain and Aphex ambient. They get used the most. Try the demos.
Thanks, I will check those out. Looking for more ambient presets.

@aidan o driscoll I appreciate the thought, but one of the ways I'm cutting down on GAS is by stopping my sample library downloads.
I realised that I was downloading them and then never touching them; ever! Lol.
I would rather buy a few new presets for V Collection 8 (especially at the moment with this sale going on).

Great choice! I had some of those already (great minds etc) but added Vangelis II, Kavinsky, MJ, Strawberry Fields and Stardust (David Bowie by Nori U).
+100 for the Floyd Tributes and JMJ.

Thought there was a bit of DeJa'Vu here. Thanks to a post reaction in this thread, I was reminded this was available for $119 on a Black Friday sale. Since I have both RX & SL, the need is really just a want so, I'll wait. Thanks @ZincT (wife is happy) 😅
Lol! I was searching through various Acoustica Premium threads to see what the price has been recently (BF, Christmas etc), but it seems I "liked" the old thread instead of the new one by mistake. Glad it had positive repercussions for you Fwrend 👍

Sounds amazing! 👍 It sound so much like real instruments.
Thank you for sharing the end result and the details of how you achieved it.

Just a heads-up for anyone interested in these high quality, royalty free field recordings (almost 1Tb).
You can still get this for a reduced price ($18.98) using the code VENUSTHEORY
Click on the BUY DIGITAL DISCOGRAPHY link on the page in Larry's post and enter the code.
This includes 473 releases and a huge variety of material.
Here's Venus Theory's video where he uses them to design an impact sound.
