I clicked on bandlab assistant and nothing happened.

It means clicking BandLab Assistant shortcut icon in the desktop but not open BandLab Assistant window?
If so, make sure BandLab Assistant icon is in the notification area (Windows tasktray). If it is there, click that icon to open BandLab Assistant window.

Note: Clicking 'x' button at right-top is not quit BandLab Assistant. To quit BandLab Assistant, click gear icon at left-top and then click Quit button.

Don't forget MODO Drums needs support for AVX instructions.

Oh, thanks. I didn't know that. I own core i7 870 installed PC it's not supported.

  3. Seems you can do it with Melodyne essential.
Quoting below from this page (To convert audio to MIDI).

Note: Melodyne essential and Melodyne assistant only support monophonic audio data. If the audio source contains polyphonic material, the resulting MIDI conversion will be monophonic. Polyphonic audio-to-MIDI conversion is only supported in Melodyne editor.

However, I have no idea with Melodyne player which after the trial expires. Maybe works?

Hey Noel - Maybe the new logic is getting a partial name match because both of our folders have VST3 in their naming (full folder names are VST32)?

@Noel Borthwick I believe this is the answer.

I checked VST2-Plugins.dll with some folder names below.

    • VST32 <- Not scanned
    • VST3456 <- Not scanned
    • Plugins VST32 <- be scanned

Should be skip .dll files only under C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

  5. This is very rare case, but Windows may slow caused by a broken display monitor which emits noise to PC via graphics card when displaying a specific color tone. So try other display monitor if you have. or change Cakewalk theme to other with different color tones. or try with changing tracks and clips color. It's a check just in case.

  6. Windows "Ransomware protection" may be blocking Cakewalk installation.
(Accessing Documents folder is controlled as default.)

Temporarily disable "Controlled folder access" in Ransomware protection and then try to re-install Cakewalk after uninstall Cakewalk.

  7. Yes, it would be nice if there will be customize option of file name format when export.

    • Add Song (Project) name to the beginning of the file names
    • Add Track numbers to the beginning of Track names
    • Add Date to all files
    • Add Time to all files

    etc...

    3. Bandlab Assistant

I mentioned in my original post that I suspected SpeedStep, but that there are no settings in the BIOS for it on this machine.

The notation name of SpeedStep differs depending on the BIOS, it's sometimes called EIST (Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology).
Other things to try, also set C1E (Enhanced HALT State, C-STATE Tech, etc.) disabled.

  10. To split the clip, right-click the clip and choose Split on the context menu. (Ex. Make a selected portion with dragging the time line ruler and then right-click the clip and choose Split > "Split as selection")
or... if smart tool using, holding Alt key and click the split point at the clip. (You see that mouse cursor changes to scissors if hovering over the clip)

There are some method to split, so find the method that works for you.

As RBH said, Reference Guide PDF and Online Documentation will be helps.

  11. I am not sure if I understand your question correctly.
Split that MIDI clip at 5th measure and then delete an empty clip or just dragging left-edge of that MIDI clip to where you want (5th measure) or select measures what you need and then copy and paste to other MIDI track (delete original MIDI track).
or... Turn on the Ripple edit  at right-top on the track view and then make an area selection with dragging zero to five on the time line ruler and then hit Delete key. (Note: Please don't forget to turn off the Ripple edit if ripple editing is completed.)
