  1. Thanks, Lynn. I think I shaved maybe 8 seconds off of it. I appreciate your comments!
  2. Thanks for coming back for another listen!
  3. Thanks, I've posted Mix 3 that I think addresses the top end.
  4. I really enjoyed it. I'm a bit in awe of the people who make this kind of music. It's beyond me how you do it.
  5. Thanks for the feedback and the listen! When you say warm, do you mean the top end is excessively suppressed? Second mix is up so I'm looking forward to your critique on it.
  6. Always appreciate your feedback, Nigel. Yeah, I was going for a Pink Floyd Doo Wop kind of a vibe.
  7. What a great discussion! This is why I love this forum. I have so many projects with bunches of markers clustered in a group at the end out of the way because I didn't know how to delete them. I can't wait to go back and remove them all with vicious glee.
  8. +1 on ARC Studio. Another alternative is the VSX headphone system by Slate. I get very consistent results with that system.
  9. I like 'em both, old school instruments and arrangements with a fine vocal performance. Loved it. Really takes me back. Great job , gary!
  10. Some pretty great sounds in there, and it's always fun to find the rhythm in the soup with your work. I dig the ray gun sounds. I also like the sound click title, "atoopid do forgot to say". Sometimes eyeliner and smokey eyes are all you need to seal the deal .
  11. Thanks, Lynn, I appreciate your support! Cutting something out of this one is like asking which one of my children should i put up for adoption.
  12. Thank you for listening!
  13. What a great song! Really love the words and as always your guitar playing is perfect. The overall vibe that you set with the quality of the mix is makes it for me and really showcases the way the percussion and the guitars work together to create a nice blend of east and west. As has been said, fantastic!
  14. Thanks for listening, tom! I know it's a long song and I'm grateful to everyone who listened to the whole thing. Given the number of thread views vs. the number of listens it's obvious that the length of the song is a deterrent to people playing the song, let alone sticking around to critique it. It's a rare thing to have folks like you and the others willing to spend the time to help me knock the rough edges off these songs in the first place, and even more so when the song is as long as it is. So, thank you all for doing me the honor of listening and commenting, it's appreciated more than I can express.
  15. Great feedback Steve. I used drum midi. After reading this I listened again and your critiques are spot-on. Muchas gracias!
  16. Thanks for listening Mark and thanks for your great feedback. Your comments match exactly the notes I wrote on the back of an envelope when I was listening to the last mix last night. I'll be posting and updated mix soon.
  17. Way fun, thanks for posting!
  18. Thanks for listening! I really tried to pare ot back some, but I like it the way it is and it's not like I'm going to lose a record deal if I don't.
  19. Thanks, jack, glad you could listen.
  20. This is a really good song with interesting changes that keep you engaged all the way through. (You seem to channel Jeff Lynne to my ear.) Nice job following the changes with the vocals Great performances all around with a beautiful video, great job Steve!
  21. Pretty good rocker, guys! Nice to hear daryl let it rip! Bass and drums were right on and the guitar just tore things up. Excellent work!
  22. This is a first mix that, after having posted, noticed some manic piano towards the end. Please ignore that. I'm looking for feedback on the mix and overall sound, plus anything else you want to point out. Thank you! Update: The link now points to mix 2. I've actually punched up the arrangements some and I think it's a better mix but I'm thinking I'm too aggressive on the master bus because to me the dynamics have suffered some in places. Feedback is welcome. Update: Mix 3 is now posted. Thanks for your help!
  23. I have always assumed that any missing audio on export was my fault. Sonar is much smarter than me
  24. I didn't want to say anything, didn't want to sound ungrateful, but I just wasn't jelling with the big ol' U for turning snap on and off. I see in the new build that we get the old grid snap icon back. My muscle memory is most humbly grateful. My favorite them (Dark Gray) looks a lot more contrasty to me. Am I imagining things? It looks great! After playing around with the themes I may have to change my favorite to the Tungsten theme, it's quite good, perhaps better than CbB. And it just occurred to me that the icon change might be due to me switching themes. Doh.
